A guy named Joe came out and did a very good job of inspecting the place for $325. He than went to my friends home same size and did the inspection for $275. No problem if I paid $50 more. The only problem I have is The Company said " once the termite work is completed they would come out and do a re-inspection at no costs. " They failed to mention it had to be done with them only or they will charge a new termite report for $325.00. Again, No problem if I have to repay. The problem is they agreed to do the re inspection and canceled it a day later due to them not getting the repair job. I told them their prices were 50% higher for simple repairs. Most customers can do the simple repairs or have a contractor friend do it below costs. This is the first time a termite company refused to complete the final inspection in the last 20 years. IT IS BETTER TO PICK A TERMITE COMPANY THAT ONLY DOES THE REPORTS. NO WORK, this way you know they are not trying to make a higher profit on inflated repair jobs. read more

We are so grateful to the owners, Scott and Patti, as well as their technician, Joe for their termite service. We like to get several quotes when we hire a contractor. We already had two other companies inspect our house for termites. However I knew I was going to hire Innova Termite immediately after talking with Patti over the phone. She is extremely knowledgeable and patiently answered my many, many questions. Scott is a world class termite inspector. He did an exceedingly thorough inspection. We knew we had drywood termites in a couple areas because they swarmed in one of our rooms and in another area outside you could see the wood damage. But what we didn't know was that we had drywood termites in another area plus subterranean termites in two areas. We had two other companies come out and Scott was the only inspector who found their evidence in these three other locations. As soon as we had our deck removed, we saw the subterranean termite tunnel that Scott had spotted from inside our crawl space. Extraordinary! Scott also very delicately explained why tenting was the best option for the drywood termites. Getting the house tented can be a little scary and takes a lot of planning and prep work, but Scott helped me to realize that it was really the best solution. They coordinated the tenting and afterwards came out to do the perimeter and crawlspace treatment as well as clean up the termite evidence. Talk about thoroughness and attention to detail. I had a termite inspection by Innova on the recommendation of a friend to assess and give an estimate of what service they would recommend. I agreed in advance to paying $75 for the partial inspection. The inspector came and did a partial inspection. The inspector said he wouldn't charge me for the inspection since he didn't look under the house. He offered twice to not charge me, and I accepted and thanked him. I subsequently received an emailed charge invoice for the inspection. I emailed my reply twice, saying their employee said I would not be charged and asking what their estimate would be for area treatment. I received no reply to my statement, so I called them and explained the situation. We had a respectful conversation, but I was told the employee was not authorized to not charge me for the inspection. Upon hanging up, I received another email, in which I was harshly chastised for hurting a member of my community, that the charge doesn't even cover the cost of their employees times and how they are disappointed by my "operating like this", etc. When I interact with a company employee, they are acting as an agent of that company, and I should be able to take them at their word. I am very offended by the tone of their response and their accusations. I would not trust this company to provide reliable customer service based on the insulting, harsh, and unwarranted response. And no, I didn't "change my mind" about paying for the inspection, I accepted the offer by your inspector to not be charged. read more

I did have to wait several weeks for them to do a routine termite inspection but I was not in a rush. Scott did a very thorough job. He was polite and very detailed. The backstory: Our home inspector, Duane Serrano, recommended we use Innova to treat our pest problem. We had received another bid from Home Guard, which the seller of the house we were buying had gotten, but we wanted to do our due diligence and get a few other quotes from places in the area. Competitive bid: Scott's bid was competitive. We were quoted ~$2750 for tenting of our 2 story house + detached garage in Willow Glen. + additional $175 to remove/vacuum/mask accessible drywood termite evidence. Ease of communication: Scott and his assitant Patti were easy to communicate with and prompt responders to emails. We appreciated this. Honesty: We had some damage to our sillwork on our old 1927 classic Willow Glen charmer. The house is fairly custom and Scott spoke honestly that his team could replace our sills, but that it'd be better to go with someone who specialized in custom stuff. We also needed our side door, damaged by termites/fungus, replaced and he said that while his team could replace the door, it'd be more economical to hire a handyman to do the work. As first time homeowners and people who haven't dealt with this stuff before, we appreciated that he wasn't trying to get us to hire him for work that could easily be done more economically. Professionalism: Scott was on time for our appt, communicated effectively/respectfully/and knows his stuff. Very professional team too. Note: Innova did subcontract the tenting itself to another company, Driskell Fumigation, which we had a great experience with as well. Craig @ Driskell was also highly professional and communicative. Scott did a great job for me with my fumigation! He came out initially before I purchased the house and as part of his inspection, although he quoted me prices to fix things, he gave me several tips on several of the items that could be done by handyman for significantly less money, including details on what I would need to do it. Since I had the fumigation scheduled, but later was concerned about rodents getting killed by the fumes and stinking up the attic, I asked if Scott could help out. He offered to come by, set rodent traps, and remove all of the primary methods for rodent entry for a very nominal fee! When he came by, he even got up on the roof of our 2-story house to fill in some crevices near the chimneys. Would definitely recommend his services. We were impressed by Scott's knowledge and his professional manner. He was interested in resolving our termite and dry rot problem but in a way that fit in with our schedule and what we wanted. Whenever we had questions Scott explained fully what needed to be done and alternative ways to achieve it. We chose to go with the formal inspection route even though that has a fee because it was more thorough than the free, but less extensive, inspection. He found subterranean termite damage under the family room which was due in part to faulty construction of the concrete steps on our patio. The concrete steps had to be removed and re-done. When we could not find a concrete contractor to re-do the steps Scott found someone who did an excellent job. Scott also found dry rot damage in several spots around some windows, a sliding glass door and two chimneys. His worker, Alfredo, was very meticulous removing and replacing the damaged pieces. We appreciate the fact that the worksite was always cleaned up at the end of the day. Scott mentioned his rates are not the cheapest. But considering the quality of the work, it was well worth it. I'd highly recommend using Innova for termite inspection and repairs. They do a superior job. read more

What can I say, Scott came, tented did the repairs on time and as quoted. A few days after tenting in the throws of renovations we discovered hidden termite damage that was not found during the inspection (Good thing we decided to tent and not spot treat!!!).
