We got a quick response from Tim and set up an appointment with Fili to come out for an assessment and estimate for the job. We had found a tiny hole in the wall by our ceiling of our entryway with tiny shavings of wood around it and on the floor below. Fili examined our attic, crawlspace, interior and exterior of our house. He found evidence of termites in the front of our house on the siding by our front door and in the spot we found. Luckily it wasn't too bad and could be resolved with localized treatment where they drill small holes and squirt in a foam that kills the termites. He gave us an estimate. And we got back to him after a few other termite companies came out and checked our house and fave estimates. It seems the other two companies were not as thorough as Fili. The other companies didn't even check the front siding of our house and were more expensive. We booked our appointment with Chang An Termite Control. They showed up today on time and got to work. It was relatively straightforward to schedule a fumigation with Chang An. Had to bag perishables in nyloflume bags that were provided. Since this was an extended family home and my partner and I were on vacation we did our best to coordinate with the onsite team and my brother. PG&E had to remove the gas meter and turn off the gas. We needed to schedule them to turn it back on afterwards. Chang An has a 3 year warranty on their fumigation. Competitive rates compared to other companies. Only a few months posy fumigation so I'm hoping the termites stay gone. There's a decent amount of prepping required for fumigation so give yourself ample time to pack and get the home ready. I think in terms of payment we were trying to sort it out with my brother the day after the end of fumigation and there was some disgruntlement?
