Innovative Results is an unbelievable new way of working out....at least from what I am used to. The knowledge of the trainers whether it be diet, different exercises, preventative maintenance, or even fixed a hurt body part, is awesome! I never come out of there feeling cheated, as every workout is different and "innovative"...I guess that is where they get the "Innovative Results". I stood in front of the girl at the front desk for 5 minutes before she broke herself away from her cell phone - very unprofessional. Arrived for my free trial after emailing with a trainer, then she didn't show up. Looks like a fun place if you can get in with your deal - they only take their regular paying customers during peak hours, so if you have a living social deal and work, forget about it. This review is based on customer service, not on the gym itself. Their LivingSocial deal is VERY misleading, as it never stated that there are only FOUR times you are allowed to workout if you have the deal. Not only that, but their site mentions nothing specific about living social when looking at their schedule either. I purchased 2 deals, and when I went to schedule we were told.. Yeah, I know its not on there, but hopefully you can come to the only allowed 4 times. Well, we can't, and even though this was a gym error for not including all information they wouldn't make any exceptions. Luckily the LivingSocial customer service is great and refunded us, but still a poor experience. If you're considering purchasing this deal, please note you are not allowed to go to all times, only 7am, 10am, 3pm and 7pm. This excludes 5, 6, 8, and 9am, 12pm, 4, and 5pm on weekdays. read more

I have had a gym membership with 24-hour Fitness for years and if I am being honest I paid for more months that I didn't even step foot into in the gym than ones that I had. I constantly struggled with remaining dedicated through boredom and a complete lack of knowledge. I never really felt like I got a great workout and I also never knew how I should be eating. Aaron and the rest of the Innovative Results team have been amazing at keeping me excited to go to the gym. Aaron seems to genuinely care about helping each and every member with reaching their goals and becoming healthier, through excercise and eating healthy. Ok, so my story is... Had my 3rd child in 2011, so I though like my other children the weight would just melt off. I had been active and athletic all my life, so as you can all imagine what a disappointment. Yes, I know we have heard this story repeatedly but I know other mother's can appreciate this story and if by reading this story, it changes one person's life, than it was worth it!! Well to my surprise it DID NOT!!! I came to a point in my life that I was ready to make the change.... I couldn't recommend IR anymore that I already have because this has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. The staff/owners... Corey, Mark, Aaron and Mason are amazing, I have never felt anything but positive, encouraging and an air to want to do better!!! This gym is different from the others, hence the name of their business... Innovative Results. I have to admit I was apprehensive when i first came because I wasn't sure I could keep up with the innovative exercises that I had to do BUT I did and definitely put a different spin on the traditional way of working out. The members, whether they have been with this gym for years or months, are equally great group of people... will help, encourage and be there for you (young and old alike)!. We all have a goal.... Over the past 5 months I have received the so much more personal attention than at any other gym in OC. All of the trainers are extremely knowledgable and friendly. At the end of July 2010, I weighed at 297 lbs. Law school, work, and life in general kept me busy; hence, I didn't have time to work out (well, that's what I told myself to justify it). In reality, I let myself down by not eating well and exercising. After class, I relaxed by eating pizza and drank a lot of beers. That came to halt when one day I was playing with my nieces, and I was out of breath after 3 minutes. I couldn't stand it anymore! I am now at 231 lbs, and Innovative Results (IR) is one of the main reasons I can proudly say, "I ENJOY WORKING OUT!" Prior to IR, my routine included hiking, running the stairs, weight-lifting, and jogging. By introducing IR to my routine in December it made an impact. I lost 20 lbs in about 1 1/2 months. I now train with IR once a week (I used to train 4-5 times a week) because I have a busy schedule. I drive out from L.A. (45 min without traffic and 2 hours with traffic), and it's worth it! I've been training at IR for 5+ years now and I'm still excited for every session. Extremely knowledgeable and supportive coaches with routines that are anything but. There is a real sense of community at IR. Focus is on whole health from metabolic/cardio, to core, upper/lower conditioning and strength training. I like it because I show up and for one hour somebody just tells me what to do! The physical aspect of training at IR is undeniable, but the real value for me is what it does for my mental capacity. I have been attending Innovative Results for over a month and have started the second month already. These sessions pushes me to my limits every time and continues to do so. I started with a marshmallow body and after attending 6 sessions a week, I have become a bit more defined. I noticed that my balance, posture, mood, skin have dramatically improved after a few weeks. Additionally, I use to have neck and back pain which have now virtually disappeared. This is the first work out program I have ever stuck to and am truly happy that I have joined. The coaches and incredibly knowledgeable and highly approachable. This is a hidden gem for people looking to take control of their physical health. I very much enjoy and look forward going to IFR after work and on my days off. The classes are smaller so there is a lot more one on one with the training coach during the session. They are willing to work with you no matter the level and ensure you are doing everything properly so you can get as much out of the exercises as possible. I've worked with Cristian, Joaquin and Joseph so far and all have been excellent coaches. I've been primarily doing body weight exercises with Calisthenics prior so this is a breath of fresh air that it's not all machines or weights. The classes are all intense but well worth it. More than that, the team here is highly educated and they take pride in what they do. They also make sure you understand what you're doing and how it's suppose to work. To me, understanding a workout and its effectiveness is just as important as doing the workout. Group training is something I've always shied away from, and it's something I still dread doing. Before I came to IR, I imagined group training as an adult would be a lot like going to gym class in grade school: everyone would be watching and judging, and you think of ways to get out of running the mile... But at IR, probably the most effective part of the class is that you ARE with a group. People are there to hold you accountable for your workout and how hard you workout, AND they cheer you on! Everyone needs a push when reaching their goals; team training at IR helps immensely with pushing yourself to the test. Another positive is that the team here insists that you take care of your body. They make sure you know when you've reached your max in a set and they make sure you take the time to stretch before and after each class. Each class, each workout is different. You don't spend time on a treadmill but your damn sure that you'll be dripping sweat when you leave. IR focuses on strength training and conditioning. Like duh, of course that makes sense! To me, the whole point of getting into shape is to be prepared for that day when I need to run away from a bear or keep myself afloat when treading water in the middle of the ocean if I was tossed off a boat (yeah, these are issues a California native may run into)... I never enjoyed working out until I tried Innovative Results. Their workouts are unique and fast paced so you never get bored with a standard routine. I'll start off by saying that I have NEVER been part of a gym before this. I still laugh at myself for never entering "the ARC" the entire time I was at UCI other than to the entrance during welcome week my first year. I might have also been to my former apartment's gym about 2-3x in my 3 years living there. So what drove me to try Innovative Results? I knew I had to do more for my health other than my occasional "hikes" and wanted to look for something in the OC that differed from the traditional gym, which would bore me. Luckily, my sister had been passively looking for a gym too so a Groupon deal for Innovative Results was the "kick" to get us started. We started off by thinking we would give it a month at a time and just like that, it's been 5 months! Some of the things I've enjoyed about working out here: 1) Everyone is so friendly and eager to cheer you on/encourage you to do your best. We "suffer" together and we have fun together! 2) The focus on learning to do things correctly at your own pace rather than forcing you to push you beyond a safe limit. Dane is great about explaining the mechanics about what we do and how we can avoid injury or fix existing ones. 3) The reminder to change our bad habits by keeping a positive attitude and being mindful of the small changes we can make in our lives that can lead to bigger changes. 4) The ever changing progression workouts that keeps things interesting and challenging. 5) The way these unique workouts get you to use muscles in ways you didn't think it would. I have wrist pain from an old bike injury, tight leg muscles, bad cardio...the list goes on! but have found myself improving my arm strength without high reps with heavy weights and improving my cardio without running long miles. I hate gym's! Same boring machines and weights. Even the trainers I've worked with at other gyms just rehash the same old workouts in a different order. Alright. I'll be honest here. I purchased the livingsocial deal on a whim. I've been working out for almost a couple of years now, and I nearly had my deal expire because didn't know when to start, or if I could even handle it. But now let me tell any readers out there up front that this is so worth it for a multitude of reasons: 1) Everyone is so positive. I love the energy that everyone has to offer. It's a motivating, friendly environment that can help you remember why you keep coming back. 2) The trainers are very knowledgable. They're so keen on form, that you are sure to get the most of your work out, avoid injury, and learn new pieces of information about working out safely. 3) The workouts are awesome. They get you sweating for sure, no matter what level you're on. The workouts vary every day so you can expand the scope of which your body is already used to. Now I can say that I don't really miss the traditional kind of gym. After being here for a month, I've seen my body change along with my mood. I'm in much better health, I'm so much stronger, and so much happier. Waking up early in the morning to attend 9am and 10am classes were also easier as the days went by; usually, Mason, Madison, or Aaron were there on weekdays, and they are phenomenal as instructors. They really do become your friends, and there's no better way to work out than to do it with friends! To wrap things up, this was one of the best decisions I made, and to anyone out there who are reading reviews to gauge this place... As Sheila Lebouf once said, "JUST DO IT."
