I purchased a used 2024 Ford Transit from Insider Auto #2 in December, paying over $31k, specifically because I wanted the peace of mind of buying from a dealership instead of a private seller. Unfortunately, that peace of mind was not delivered. Because the vehicle was purchased in Virginia, I was later told that Insider Auto #2 could not handle the Maryland inspection, and that I would need to take care of it myself. When I attempted the Maryland state inspection, the van failed due to a Check Engine light, with multiple diagnostic codes, on a vehicle with less than 30 days since purchase. When I escalated the issue and spoke directly with Guillermo (manager), the response was essentially that "these things happen" and that I would have to deal with it on my own. This is not what most buyers expect when purchasing a vehicle from a licensed dealer--especially a work vehicle like a Ford Transit. Yes, it's a used vehicle, but buying from a dealer should come with accountability and post-sale support, particularly when problems appear immediately after purchase and prevent inspection and registration. I'm leaving this review to be transparent with future buyers: If you're considering Insider Auto #2 and any of its affiliates, make sure you clearly understand what support (if any) you'll receive after the sale, especially if you are registering the vehicle out of state. I drove two hours away to grab a vehicle They had listed spoke with the sales person and the finance manager. The finance manager gave me his word. The vehicle was in pretty decent shape. He told me it passed the safety inspection and everything was up-to-date. I had to get it inspected in Maryland and to my surprise the brakes failed horribly. The brakes had No pad left. I'm not even sure how safely made it home. Called the dealership to see if they could make it right, a week and a half went by. No one called back. Once I finally spoke with the finance manager, Alex, he was very rude. And also tried to bully me and tell me I was a liar. (See the pictures below) They told me the truck was as is, and I should've looked at the truck before I left. Even after they told me the truck was in really good standing. Do not trust these people whatsoever have your vehicle thoroughly inspected before you consider purchasing anything with them. It appears they are doing patch jobs to vehicles and not doing honest business. You can see the old brake pads next to a set of new brake pads, needless to say the truck needed $700 worth of brake work, by the way that does not pass Virginia state inspection like they told me it did, I did notify the Virginia state troopers and they are investigating. I gave them a copy of Maryland State inspection date miles and inspection results. which clearly isn't matching up to what they said. read more

Our initial experience buying our car was fine. The team was helpful and made the process very fast and smooth. However, from that point on it has been downhill. We took the car in for routine maintenance the same week we bought it and were told the car was 2WD even though we'd been told it was 4WD (and that's what it was advertised as). This was a major selling point for us, so we needed to get that fixed. Insiders "worked with us" to get it fixed since they had falsely advertised it. This included replacing the transfer case and adding something to make it a true 4WD, as well as some axel work that was faulty when they sold it to us. They sent the car out to "their people" and said it would be taken care of. When we went to pick up the car, they didn't give us any sort of invoice, which I thought was weird, but my husband had been talking to them so I paid what was agreed and left. Fast forward to now (the repairs were done in October)...we took the car in to the Mazda dealership for an oil change and a recall issue and were told the transfer case was broken and leaking and that the axel had a giant crack in it. They showed my husband and he confirmed it was all bad. How is it possible that within 4 months, we'd already need a new transfer case and axel? Either Insiders' people never replaced it, or they installed a broken one. Either way, we spent nearly $1,000 with them (after they "covered some of the cost") to get it fixed, only to have to spend another $2,400 now. Our whole experience has felt like a giant scam and I would highly recommend going anywhere else. Not a good place to buy your car. They hide information and trap you into signing papers. They sold me a 'structural damage' car and I didn't find out until I decided I wanted to sell the car. When I called and mentioned it to them, the representative said I signed the papers and there was nothing they could do. This was frustrating. Do not, do not, do not, buy a car from this dealer. Do not work with Frank Thomas. I had signed an agreement that they would reimburse me for windshield dings once repaired. Safelite did the work. Now I am being told they could have done it cheaper so they will not cover the cost of the full repair. To pass MD inspection, all new tires were needed, as the tires that were on the truck scraped the frame. I bought new tires without complaining. However, here we are THREE months later and they won't reimburse me as promised. The general manager does not exist as they won't return your call. Cannot say enough great things about Insiders! Submitted an application and Johana reached out to me almost immediately. Once communication began, she was extremely informative, responded to all of my questions within minutes via email (as I was at work during the entire process) and had the car waiting for me when I pulled in to test drive. Johana is hands down the best car salesman I have ever worked with- she was not pushy, instead upon meeting her in person she struck up conversation and made me feel valued as a customer. The vehicle was in great shape, with only a few minor cosmetic concerns (missing the handle above the passenger door- which Johana immediately addressed and ordered), but otherwise was exactly as described online. Alex, the finance manager is absolutely one of a kind. I had submitted the application and all of the needed documents to Johanna around noon, and by the time I arrived at Insiders around 2pm, Alex had my approval and all paperwork ready to go for signatures if my husband and I decided to purchase the car. The entire process from walking into the dealership to test drive and walking out with the keys to our new car took under an hour. My husband and I were shocked as the last 4 vehicles we've purchased (direct from Ford & Mazda dealerships) have been all-day or multi-day processes- this was such a fast and painless experience. Alex was incredibly helpful and informative regarding the loan process, and was able to get us approved for the vehicle we wanted at a good rate considering our credit history. So I am writing this review one because I was asked to the same night I purchased my car and two because I think buyers should be aware. The service potion of things was crap but not much is to be expected with a used car lot the vibe was more so that they were doing me a favor and the fact that I walked in with a check in hand did not mean anything. When I purchased my vehicle, I drove it for what I felt was an extensive amount of time however when I left the dealership after purchase a light came on for servicing as well as the next morning my oil change light came on. I spoke with Fazel about the issues he assured me that it was no big deal and they would fix it I took my vehicle to a mechanic that the dealership chose and was told I needed a new module for my cruise control the mechanic said he could order the part but could not calibrate it I advised he would speak with the dealership and have me come back when it was time to do the work (plus an oil change). I never heard back from the dealership that day, finally 3 days later I was able to get Fazel on the phone again he gives me a whole spill about how the mechanic they sent me to had robbed them and was no good blah blah (has nothing to do with my vehicle) that the work would not be getting done at all but at least u got your oil change he says... but I absolutely did not get an oil change there was no work done to my vehicle at all and to just nonchalantly brush me off after I spent nearly 30,000 dollars with your business is SAD. I inquired about taking my vehicle elsewhere they declined. All in all just know that buying with them means you are purchasing a car that has been sold at an auction sent through a car wash, vacuumed then stuck on the lot with a for sale sign. Pricing is good just know that it's a luck of the draw situation I feel fairly lucky considering yes there are some pricy repairs that need to be done on my car but at least the vehicle is running. I was going to give this place a 5 star rating that's until I had to clean up thier mess and spent over $1000 dollars on a $15,000 car. Let me start of by saying I purchased a car September 7th thought I got a good deal but thier like every other shizty car dealer. I got a quote through my insurance before I purchased the car online it was substantially lower then when I had signed all the paperwork and called to get the insurance transferred over. I hadn't taken the car and called my bank who financed me and told them I didn't want the car I couldnt afford the insurance they said get the check from the dealer. One of the guys said the check was in the safe I could come pick it up tomorrow. He then said he had a "friend" that works in car insurance (geico) and he would call him to get a "qoute". Without my permission or knowledge they put personal info into the computer for another insurance company. The rate was substantially lower but I refused to put my bank indo in bc it was a quote. He put his bank card in and paid for for the first month. I gave him cash for it. I trusted them at this poimt and thought they were good guys......Now come the SHIT STORM..........Come to find out the reason the insurance was so.much lower is because: he put an incorrect address in, said is was a home owner, put a bunch of other lies in and signed me up for SNAP SHOT (which was sent to the WRONG ADDRESS HE SIGNED ME UP FOR!!!!) When I called they told me I'd be liable for the device untiu 6 hours on the phone and 3 mangers later explaining the situation finally it was put in as abandoned. My license was suspended (longer story) bc of info he told me and didn't put in the system and told me he did (he used to work in insurance he said). When I was looking at the car he said it was maintenanced and serviced by his mechanics and showed me service records......Well his mechanics must suck because I've had to: replace the breaks, the spark plugs were shot, oil was dirty, a squirls nest in the air filter department had to change the air filter, wind shield wipers falling apart, coolant was really low and barley any trans fliud (on the car there is not dipstick under the hood you have to get.under the car). I KNOW I SHOULD HAVE CHECKED THIS STUFF MY FAULT NEVER AGAIN WILL.I MAKE THAT MISTAKE AND TRUST SOMEONES WORD!!! What's not my fault is when I took it to a mechanic because 3 days later it was acting funny is the soft codes.they deleted!!!!! DO NOT TRUST THESE GUYS THIS HAS BEEN MY WORST FIRST NEWER CAR BUYING EXPERIENCE IVE LEARNED PEOPLE WILL LIE TO GET WHAT THEY WANT (WHICH IS USUALLY MONEY) DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM HERE BC IT SEEMS LIKE A GOOD DEAL BUT YOU WILL HAVE TO THROW TONS MORE MONEY INTO IT LIKE I DID!!! I purchased a Black 2011 Infinity QX56 from Insiders Auto back in August 2016. Let me be the 1st to say "I take full responsibility for not doing my due-diligence before purchasing the car. However, in saying that "there is no way this car should've passed the VA State safety inspection w/ the current break pads. Also, the "Service Engine Soon" light came on as soon as I hit 153 miles (yes I recorded the exact mile the Service Engine Soon Light came on). When I took it in to get checked, I was told the cars computer had been reset & the computer is now getting it's first reading after the reset which triggered the Service Engine Soon light. I took the car back & they told me the gas cap triggered the "Service Engine Soon" light. Not even close to being the case or the problem & I'm not going to list the problems. All I will say is this, "If anyone decides to purchase a vehicle from Insiders Auto, before you give them a dime of your hard earned money, take the car to an independent inspection & emissions station for testing"... It will cost you $28 for the emissions test & about $16 for the Safety inspection test. Spend the money 1st or you can be VERY, very sorry later. read more

Although car dealers have a reputation of being a bit shady, Insiders Auto gave me one of the worst pre-buying experiences I've had for any product I can think of. During a call I made to inquire about the status and buying options for a vehicle that I found online, I was forwarded to communicate with two individuals for pre-approval including a credit check and clarification of what my monthly payment would be. After the basic credit check and I was pre-approved, they set an appointment with me to come up the next day from DC which was about a 45 min drive with no traffic, and up to 2 hours or more with rush hour traffic. I clearly expressed that I wanted to have all details clarified over the phone first before I drove all the way from DC to Insider Auto, so that I wouldn't be wasting my time or have to make an additional unnecessary trip, and if I liked the car after the test drive I would purchase it that day. The first major issue I have with these guys is that after I asked what my credit was (because I wasn't 100 percent sure), I was told "around 685", which surprised me, because I was expecting higher. Once off the phone I checked my score with my credit monitoring service and all three bureaus showed my score over 730. I called back and asked for clarification of the lower score and was told that they pull from different types of credit for auto, which is something that I never heard before. So I got the feeling that I was being lied to. The second issue that bothered me is when I texted them and called them requesting firm clarification on whether or not they thought that a deal could be worked out around a particular monthly amount that was in my budget, they never got back to me, although I had the appointment set with them for the next day (with potentially over an hour of driving each way). When they didn't get back to me, luckily I was smart enough to figure that they were blowing me off and I decided not to make the appointment the next day. However, I called the next day around the time of the appointment, and one of the guys said "oh.,. I was just about to call you sir, we just sold the car, the person just drove it off the lot...". Now imagine how pissed I would have been if I drove all the way from DC to hear that in person... right? And if these guys can be that disrespectful and inconsiderate prior to a purchase, imagine what assholes they could be after you spend your money? I wouldn't waste my time with them and risk the potential frustration. read more

They would not repair my car that needed brakes and rotors after my salesperson said that they would replaced them.
