This is an awesome cookie place where you can have cookie sandwiches and order just a variety of different cookies in different quantities and box sizes. $ 1.70 per cookie. I ended up having a macadamia cookie with cookies and cream cream sandwich. Obviously have to eat this quickly because the warm cookies will quickly melt your ice cream. Yum yum yum is all I can say... The locations right near UMass and Amherst College in the thanks square. This store is perfect for students who need to pull a all-nighter with projects and exams. Long version: -I got insomnia cookies last night, it was a great deal online Tuesday Night 5 for $6 (and normally 6 are $9.25). -I got Mint choc chip, M&M, snickerdoodle, and Double choc chunk varieties. - Delivery was somewhat quick, only 30 minutes and it was 11:45pm and they were almost warm too. -Everyone who ate those cookies, including myself are terribly sick today. We have diarrhea, extreme nausea and it's horrible. As my roommate put it "Diarrhea Vomity Sick". But when you peel back the filter of adolescence, you realize that the cookies are good, but only slightly better than the cookies you'd get at BJ's Wholesale or CostCo. It's definitely a higher quality than the average cookie, but not by miles. I think it's intentional but the chocolate peanut butter cookie was almost like cookie dough in the middle. My partner thought it was okay so he ate it but that's not what I was looking for. I also bought a salted caramel and that was warm and done nicely so I'm not sure what happened with the first cookie. Prices are a bit steep for the quality and service. The woman that waited on us was unfriendly and looked like we were annoying her. I would hate to see what it looks like with one person working and a busy day. For those that don't know Insomnia Cookies let you order fresh baked cookies until 3AM. Ingenious. When you walk in you immediately know you're done because the aroma takes hold of you. The difficult part is figuring out what to order. I got two traditional chocolate chip cookies with cookie dough ice cream...because why not? One thing to note is the cookies are a bit small for the price. Don't get me wrong they are delicious, just wish they were bigger. I ordered cookies to be overnighted to an address in New Jersey, and they were mailed from Chicopee, MA. The cookies were never delivered, and when I reached out to customer service online at Insomnia, Sean was not helpful at all. Pros: - Good cookies (this goes for the cookie cakes an everything cookie related). - The option for delivery makes it great for late night snacks or events/parties. Cons: - Prices are on the higher end with a single larger cookie being $3.50. The deals only apply to the regular sized cookies but those deals are pretty good for their prices (for the most part). - Service in-store feels quite rushed even though there wasn't a line or anything. My first time there was pretty decent but during my most recent visit I mentioned that I wanted to scan for my loyalty points but the cashier went right ahead and finished the order without asking to scan it or anything. When I inquired about the points I was told "sorry, it's too late" even though I just stated a minute ago that I intended to get them... Insomnia cookies is a little shop in downtown amherst. They specialize in cookies but also have some ice cream to order separately or to make some yummy icecream sandwiches. The staff was very friendly and made sure my friends and I got fresh cookies. I got the chocolate chunk and my boyfriend got the white chocolate macadamia. I usually don't like white chocolate but his cookie was GOOD. We also bought strawberry cheesecake icecream but it was nothing special. It tasted like regular icecream from the grocery store. Insomnia cookies is part of a chain, and not a unique local business, targeting rich college students. The prices are absolutely insane for about a three inch cookie. We stopped in and picked out a "Six Pack" for like $10. All their cookie ordering quantities are lamely named such as, The Six Pack, The Major Rager, and The Sugar Rush. All the cookies I've read online are pre-made and previously frozen, and are made by David's cookies. If I knew ahead of time what I was getting I never would of stopped in.
