The customer service at Insomnia is BEYOND AMAZING! I cannot stress enough how relieved I was dealing with this shop. You see I am six hours away, trying to get a birthday treat to my child and I missed putting a unit number in. They were so kind and said, we will make sure they get it and sent another driver. On recent visit to Chico with friends, we walked by Insomnia Cookies several times surprised to see them open so late. It finally hit me, the store name! Looking them up on their website, we saw that they are open til 1AM Sun-Wed and 3am Thurs-Sat! They also deliver cookies! i placed an order for pickup the night before via their app for a pickup time after dinner the next day. The cookies were ready when promised and were warm! This place reminds me of Cream, where you can make ice cream sandwiches with their huge selection of cookies. Tried 6 of their gluten-free vegan chocolate chip cookies, regular oatmeal raisin, snicker-doodle, s'mores, cookies and cream. They were all excellent but the snicker-doodle and oatmeal raisin were my favorites! I waited for two hours until I called and discovered they were closed. Didn't receive a call, text, nothing from the establishment to tell me my order wouldn't be fulfilled. I order some cookies on Sunday for my dad for Father's Day. Well I got busy and didn't follow up with my dad until Monday afternoon. The order was delivered to wrong place, (not my mistake) dad didn't get his cookies and I have received NO HELP. I called on Monday and asked them to just send out a new order to my dad but whoever was there seemed to not have the authority to assist. Ok....So I called Tuesday and the after rehashing the incident the manager proceeded to tell me the next hoops I needed hop through. Long story short, it's Friday night and I've been making calls all week to be refunded. My patience and goodwill is over. Been here twice in 7 days, and angry that we haven't gone here before! not sure how long and they've been here but we've lived out this way since 2017, and never heard of them before 3 weeks ago. When I found this place and found they're open till 1 AM, I knew I found a godsend. Every single cupcake place bakery, cookie place, ice cream place and everything in between closes at usually 5 PM on weekends and 7 or 8 PM on weekdays, as theres zero nightlife in this entire area of CA. Just the fact that they are open as late as they are, long past all other businesses that aren't bars and clubs, makes this place a godsend! On top of it, they're cookies are insane! I just wish they had more options. Both times I've gone I'm looking for more flavor options and there just aren't any. How about Strawberry cheesecake, Mexican chocolate, butterscotch chip, cinnamon chip, Lemon with wht chocolate chips, toffee and chocolate chunk? I literally could go on and on with flvor options. When I'm looking at their menu I have 20 flavor options in my head that would make sense for them to have but they don't. But what I've had, and I've had most of the menu except for the vegan options and the bar cookies, because they've been out each time or bar cookies, have been incredible and I've ordered everything twice now that I got the 1st time. The cookies, unless you get Deluxe, are about twice the size of a chip's A Hoy, but smaller than what you would get at almost any other cookie place and they are not cheap! You can smell the intense and incredible smell of cookies being baked as soon as you walk in though, and if the dough has ever been frozen you can't tell, unlike some of these idiots and other reviews have claimed. They're just lying or stupid. I use frozen dough at home when I'm making cookies and my house does not smell intoxicating like this place does when you walk in! you only get that smell from fresh! The next best thing is they serve you the cookie's warm! I've never been to any cookie place where they serve them warm unless you just happen to walk in after they put them in the display case, like Mrs. Fields. My only reason not giving the 5 stars is because the size of the regular cookies for a dozen is astronomical! This is a college town, and people can't afford stuff like that, so I've only gone twice in one week as a fluke. Unfortunately, probably won't be there for many months because their cookies are too small for the price, so have to get a dozen, but you don't get much for the money. Each of those cookies should be about 75 cents not $2.50! The deluxe size should just be their normal size, and they charge a whopping $4.50 each! Shocking price for what is a standard sized cookies at literally any cookie shop we've ever been to, and twice the price at Insomnia. Nevertheless, we are very glad they are here, hope they have a better selection soon, and hope they lower their prices or make the deluxe size the standard size, down the road, and charge $2.50 for those. Still would be too expensive, but much more logical. Only go here at night, since parking and driving in downtown Chico is misery. It's like a tiny cramped Market street in San Francisco here! Hopefully they'll open a location in a less horrible to drive part of a chico, which is literally anywhere else in chico! read more

I had Insomnia Cookies for the first time last night and one thing I know for sure; they take the word jumbo very seriously! I ordered a triple chocolate jumbo deluxe cookie and a chocolate peanut butter cup jumbo deluxe cookie. One cookie would have been more than enough. Their cookies are large, very thick and there was practically a whole large peanut butter cup in the cookie. They were also sweet and really good. My friend order a deluxe S'mores Bigwich. She offered a piece to me, unfortunately, I was too full to try it. She finished it off and was very happy with it. I also made a rookie mistake. I should have ordered the milk. LOL if you have the munchies and enjoy a late night sugar rush, give Insomnia Cookies a try but don't forget the milk. read more

I love insomnia being so close to me cause I have a sweet tooth and can pick up instead of paying for delivery. I walk in tonight and was not even greeted before this guy is pretty much saying he is no longer taking in store orders because it was too much and too 'time consuming'. Helping your customers is too time consuming? Didn't even ask me if I had a pick up order, which I did. A group of people walked in after me and he did the same thing to them. I understand how good places can be busy and you can get overwhelmed as I have worked in food service before but be nice to your customers please.
