I came in right before happy hour ended, not knowing that it was a special time. I asked the guy working there about the price, and he told me that the computer locked it out at a certain time when I told him it was 6. So I gave the exact time of 5:58 and he told me I had a minute to pick my cookies...instead of ringing them up then grabbing the cookies he slowly put my cookies in a box first. It was pretty annoying...like he wanted me to pay more. I did get them before it hit 6...but he ruined my experience. My favorite was the chocolate chunk. The white chocolate macadamia nut was kinda gross...even though it's usually my favorite type of cookie. I am a sucker for this place. I love several things about them. 1. The fact that they deliver something other than pizza subs or Chinese. 2. The fact that they are open extremely late 3. The cookies were amazing BUT the delivery driver was TERRIBLE. He said he had no change and forced me to tip him 70%. 70%!! I asked for change and he told me he "didn't have any" but would double check in his car. It was a $12 order and I had given him a $20. Am I supposed to believe he has no change? So he comes back 5 minutes later with a couple quarters from his car and 3/4 of a $1 bill so damaged I'll never be able to use it. Not only that, but he has in his hands a huge stack of cash with plenty of change to give. But he doesnt give me any of that. And remember, 5 minutes ago he "didn't have change". The driver forced me to give him an $8 tip and lied straight to my face to keep my money for himself. WORST DELIVERY DRIVER EVER. Every time I've ever been drunk enough to forget that ordering from this place is a bad idea, I am soon reminded with their horrible service and lackluster product. First off, greasiest cookies I've ever had in my life. A warm and gooey cookie is one thing, an undercooked, greasy, falling-apart cookie is another. The service is my largest complaint, however. Once, there was a problem with my credit card information, rather than calling me to correct the situation, they just went ahead and cancelled my order with absolutely no attempt to contact me. Another time, delivery took 2.5 hours (on a weeknight!) and they completely screwed up my order. I called, they refused to send me what I ordered. Last night, my last time ordering from these people, I placed an order, they charged my credit card, and guess what? I never received my food. I've been calling them all day to have my money refunded, and they won't pick up the phone. Do not support this business. Customer satisfaction is not on their list of priorities. read more

This place is always out of their cookies. I have order fork here many times but recently they have told us that they are out of their confetti cookie. I jsut tried to order delivery and immediately got a phone call stating they were out of it AGAIN. We told them to cancel that part of the order and they said we had to call customer service tomorrow to get a partial refund. We then told them to cancel the whole order and they proceeded to talk us we would still have to call customer service tomorrow. We decided to jsut have them deliver it and replace the confetti with 2 other cookies. Worst customer service and lazy workers it seems. I hate to write this review, I really do. I've enjoyed insomnia cookies in the past. But this experience has been so catastrophic that I had to share it. This store can not handle the quantity of their orders. Period. I placed an order on a Monday night for 5 cookies and some milk. I did this understanding that they would be busy with the beginning of school and knowing I would have to wait maybe 45 minutes or an hour. TWO HOURs later, I called their customer service to see what was wrong. I was told that the store was experiencing difficulties getting orders out, and that if I cancelled my order, I would be refunded and could get my same order delivered later in the week for free. Tired of waiting, I agreed. Friday night, I decided to redeem my order. After waiting ANOTHER TWO HOURS, i had to call customer service again. They told me that the order was in the car and on the way. When it FINALLY got here, it was incorrect/not complete. The driver told me to wait and he would be back with the missing item in another 15 minutes. I'm sorry, I give insomnia cookies credit for their customer service in trying to fix things and in offering me this deal to make up for their inability to deliver. But at some point that is not enough to offset the fact that their ability to actually deliver a product when ordered is TERRIBLE. What's not to love about late night gooey cookies? It was a bit of a hike from the concert venue, but we hiked out here to grab some cookies and milk (and in my case, water). Insomnia Cookies Columbus is truly a hole in the wall. It's surrounded by two large buildings on either side. One of which is a bar... so Insomnia Cookies definitely caters to specific clientele. Being open late is helpful, especially when that craving kicks in. IC is one hallway with one entrance and exit. It gets a little claustrophobic, but well worth it. When I went, I got two chocolate chip cookies. I think the cookie is great gooey-ness and it was wonderful at the time because I hadn't had either lunch or dinner, so by then anything that was fresh out of the oven sounded good to me. They aren't any different from your store bought cookie, except they're heated up to appeal to your nostrils and taste buds. I can't complain too much though because cookies are cookies and gooey ones are still great. I think cookies and milk is a great idea and appeals to the college student, which Ohio State is right across the street. I wish this chain existed closer to home. I'd take a cookie at 11 pm any day.Yummy. read more

Went in for my first time in years and was very excited for it. I even brought some friends to try it because years before it was very good and fresh. Not this time. Not even close. I got the Valentine's Day dipper pack with the cream cheese frosting. The red velvet cookies were rock hard. We could barely bite into them. So I figured I'd go in and just let them know and ask if I could just have a few replacements that I could actually eat and enjoy. The girl at the counter must've been new because she didn't seem to know what was going on or why this would happen. Clearly the cookies were way over done and lacked flavor and the correct fresh texture completely. When I asked for fresh ones I was told the rest were going to be that same way. I was offered anything in exchange or my money back or to talk to a manager. Very disappointed in the customer service and just the don't care attitude of the store. Do not recommend to anyone. If you're looking for a sweet treat I suggest Buckeye Donuts as the products there are always fresh and the employees are very friendly and actually caring !! read more

Terrific cookies, even at the price. But I don't like being charged tax for carry-out food. Ohio charges sales tax on food only for dine-in consumption and some sugared beverages. When I mentioned it to the clerk, he got in my face about it and insisted on my paying sales tax. This appears to be a way for Insomnia to line its corporate pockets with state tax money that isn't going to the taxpayers of Ohio. Where do I begin. Waltzed into insomnia at about 11 o clock after a long hard day and ordered some solid cookies. To my disappointment I was shorted one cookie. But nevertheless, I persevered and kept enjoying my other cookie. Midway eating however, I got a strand of hair in one of my bites. I am not a confrontational person so I swallowed my anger and was willing to take the L. When I heard about Insomnia Cookies, I wanted to go immediately. A cookie place that bakes cookies as you order them sounded pretty awesome. I imagined a small cafe type setting where you point to the dough, go sit down with some milk or tea, then a few minutes later they bring you your cookie. What it actually was is basically a hallway that gets a little wider as you get to the register, with milk crates lining the walls to sit on. They serve 2 kinds of white milk and chocolate milk, nothing special. The cookies come out almost immediately in a wax paper bag. They are crispy on the outside and very soft, almost underdone in the center. Either they bake them way too fast, or they are pre-baked. Judging by the textures I'm thinking they are baked too fast. They are also a little greasy. I ordered the peanut butter cookie and the white chocolate macadamia nut as well. They were both as described as above, but I'm not sure the PB cookie was peanuty enough, and being that I like my peanut butter cookies soft and chewy, I didn't like it too well. It also had peanut butter chips on top, which I despise. The other cookie didn't have a ton of macadamia nut taste to it either. Altogether it wasn't bad, and as late as they are open, there probably aren't a ton of better options. I wouldn't mind coming back if a friend really wanted to, but I would probably just get one cookie. read more

Insomnia cookies are the best cookies I ever had hands down. I usually go there late at night when my friends and I are just chilling around, never really got a delivery, but my friends tell me they're pretty fast. I always get the M&M chocolate chip one, and every bite I take from that thing I forget school, work everything else in this world. Those 2 minutes it's just a special moment between the cookie and I where the world is perfect. Cookies are great, but their service leaves a lot to be desired. Whoever delivered the cookies called when they arrived near my home, and had an attitude problem from the moment I said "hello." As a freshman at Ohio State we ordered Insomnia cookies every Friday night and everything was delivered on time and of great quality.
