This is for the location in Davis only. Went here for dessert, and as it was our first time visiting, we had questions about the menu, sizes, etc. The two ladies working that night looked like they would rather be anywhere else. No greeting when we walked in, no explanation of the menu, just complete silence from beginning to end. It looked like we interrupted them and were inconveniencing them! It was a weird vibe. I can't remember what I ordered exactly, I believe it was some kind of ice cream sandwich-and it was very blah. The cookies were not soft, moist, or chewy. It tasted like it was sitting out all day, and didn't really have a memorable taste to it. My friends and I ordered some scrumptious cookies online from this (what we thought to be fine) establishment. We ordered our 12 cookie box ($25) while eating our Saturday supper, and the estimated delivery time was 45-55 minutes, very reasonable. We began all studying for our finals, as we intend to pass our classes, and lost track of time. We suddenly realized an hour and half had passed and we had received no notification about a cookie delivery, yet the tracking map said they had been delivered. After snooping around the outside our dorm building, we found no evidence of the claimed "drop off". So, we called them, and there appeared to be a misunderstanding about the account phone number and they said they would redeliver the cookies now that we had cleared up the issue. Wonderful news...right? Wrong. They claimed to have delivered the cookies straight to my dorm room, yet nobody ever knocked on my door much less delivered the scrumptious cookies that had been running through my head for the past 3 1/2 HOURS. It is now 12:30, and I have finally AT LEAST secured a refund after been given the run around and two conflicting stories about why I never received my cookies. Insomnia cookies was supposed to make my night, but they have instead ruined it. 0/10 do not recommend trying to deliver from here. Much too expensive and below standard delivery. The cookies are pretty tasty. Crunchy on the outside and chewy closer to the middle. Unfortunately, their customer service is not up to par. After being on campus for nearly 14 hours and dreading a 40 minute commute home, I wanted to bring some cookies home for my younger siblings. I found some difficulty reading the menu from outside(a cardboard bag went into my eye earlier so I had some difficulty seeing things) and so I walked inside. There was one group already in there and I did miss the sign that said one group inside at a time. Totally my fault, I didn't read the door upon entering. As I came in, one employee asked me if I was with the current group, I didn't hear it the first time because my hearing isn't the greatest and I had an empty stare and he repeated the question. After hearing it, I said no and he curtly said, "You need to leave the store now". I was perplexed at first until he followed up with, "We can only have on group in here at a time." Thats totally understandable, so I apologized and left the store to continuing trying to read the menu. After the previous group left, I came in to an employee who greeted me nicely and another one who kept staring me down like I terrorized something she held dearly. After giving my order, I asked to see the person who asked me to leave and when they did, I told the employee that, "I appreciate what you do, I'm glad you do it, I'm not mad at all, but I ask that you say it more pleasantly." They proceeded to go to the back and the employee closest to the wall had a quick remark that she repeated twice. "The sign one the door says one group at a time.". Now, I appreciate feedback because it helps people improve. That is not feedback and is completely unnecessary. Considering all the other reviews here as well, I do not think that my ask is unwarranted and would bring in more business and possibly even make his own day better when understanding customers come in. We are all humans and make mistakes. There is no need to be leave a snarky remark when someone had genuine feedback. I may come back but I may not. To the owner, if you endorse the behavior of snarky remarks, I will not support your business. To the person closest to the wall staring down every customer as they walk by like you don't want to be there, I hope you find something that lifts your spirits and I hope you treat other people better. read more

Tried Insomnia Cookies because I had a late night craving for sugar and had absolutely nothing sweet in the house to eat. I ordered the 12 pack of cookies. Tried chocolate chip, peanutbutter, and sugar cookie as my flavors. The chocolate chip was by far the best, and the peanutbutter was a close second. The sugar cookies were absolutely terrible though. They don't tast sweet at all and were quite bland. I would not recommend buying that flavor. The cookies arrived warm and gooey and the delivery was pretty fast. My only complaint is the price of the cookies $18 and that there was a mandatory minimum tip of 4 dollars. read more

This is my favorite place to go in Davis! It was recommended to me by a friend and I'm so thankful. Staff there is so cool and always offers incredible service. I usually get the 2 cookies and a drink combo because it's the best deal they have. My personal favorite is the snickerdoodle. It is a little expensive, so it's more of a treat then an everyday snack. Also you must order $10 worth of product when you get delivery. Makes sense, just want people to know. Overall fantastic. If you find yourself driving east on 80 from the east bay stop into Davis and try this downtown gem! The cookies and special cookies were amazing! We wanted dessert and we couldn't decide between all the great choices in the area we could go to. Soon as we walked in we were greeted and you could smell the cookies. They offered for us to try flavors of ice cream and told us what made them popular. The Reese's cookie was my go to although I wanted the ice cream cookie sandwich after eating my ice cream with the cookie so improve your experience from mine and get the sandwich and some cookies to go. What a great idea and so convenient. Love that they are open late & deliver, although I have never had a delivery personally. The menu is small which keeps the options to a minimum and the stock of items greater at hand. The cookies have always been fresh and warm each time I have visited this establishment. The milk kept cold, and the ice cream is wonderful. The staff has always been helpful and patient. The cookies are very good on their own, but even more than that, the balance between them and the ice cream is perfect. I've found that at other places the cookies are too hard so they won't get soggy, or the ice cream is too sweet or too cold and therefore overwhelms the cookie or doesn't taste like anything, but Insomnia seems to know the balance and you get a delicious, super messy meal of a cookie sandwich that will satisfy you to your core. Ok so hear me out: When you order online and schedule for pick up the whole idea behind that is so you don't have to wait at the register when you arrive. You literally just pick it up. Right?! I ordered online at around 8:50 pm and scheduled for a 9:45 pick up. I came there a little late, around 9:50 and saw that there was a super long line. I didn't think I'd have to wait in line for the above reason, but I didn't wanna just cut the people in line and ask the cashier so I waited till someone else came out. This dude who was scooping ice cream came out and my boyfriend asked him about pick up orders to which he replied that we still have to wait in line. If I have to wait in line for a freaking pick up order then why bother ordering online? All the cookies are just under the register in a heat lamp I suppose so it's not like they're that freshly made. It's no different than if I waited in line and ordered right then and there. Seriously. What the heck. That's just so stupid. Service means a lot to me especially since this isn't the only dessert place in davis. I could easily go to ontap or davis creamery or cream if I had a sweet tooth craving. Thought maybe they could redeem themselves if their cookies were hella good. They were good, BUT only when enjoyed right away. We went to the car after picking them up and I decided to try one right then and there. It was the sugar cookie, and it was super moist and soft. Exactly what a cookie should taste like. None of that nasty crispy hard crunch. If I wanted that, I'd eat chips lol. But after driving home and enjoying them, I noticed that the other ones we had weren't as soft or chewy. Insomnia cookies is located in a very accessible part of downtown Davis. The cashiers were super friendly and very fast. Within seconds of paying they had handed me my warm, fresh baked cookie. The smores cookie was gooey and delicious without being sickly sweet. I also appreciate that you can get an ice cream sandwich and other items. Cold milk for purchase is also a plus, although it is sold at a high increase! I also love that they deliver, though having walked in I can't comment on their delivery service. read more

McDonald's was my go-to for late night cookie cravings but with Insomnia Cookies' delivery option, I won't have to drive out anymore!! I ordered a box of six cookies and a deluxe a la mode and wasn't disappointed. I was worried that the ice cream on the a la mode might arrived melted but it was packed in a separate container and wasn't melted at all (cookies also came warm and gooey :') ) Delivery is $3 and the total was ~$22 (excluding tip) so it's a bit on the pricier side. But I still went back the next day to get another deluxe a la mode cause it was just THAT GOOD!! I recommend the deluxe triple chocolate chunk with vanilla ice cream...super yummy! This was my first time going in. I'm a worker at Chipotle who had just gotten off of work, my hair was still tied back and in a hat. My friend and I order a M&M cookie & a double chocolate chip cookie. We exit the store and take about 5 steps before my friend and I take a bite into the double chocolate chip cookie and FIND A HAIR BAKED INSIDE THE COOKIE. The hair was not placed on top where our hair could have fallen on it. It was lodged inside of the cookie. We make our way back inside the shop and explain the incident to the workers. I hand the cashier the cookie with the hair and she states the following as she shows the other female worker the cookie "the hair is inside the cookie". When she states that, is shows that she has acknowledged that it has fallen before the cookie was baked. Further suggesting that it was the fault of a worker when it was being made. While doing so, the cashier failed to accommodate us and apologize. She tossed the cookie and continued to help another customer while the issue was not fully resolved. The worker she showed it to proceeds to tell us that we have left the store and could have planted the hair IN the cookie which is ridiculous. The cashier agrees with the worker and continues to tell us in a snarky tone that since we left the store they couldn't do anything when I repeat that the hair was inside the cookie and asks if there anything they could do. Both of the female workers approached the situation with POOR HOSPITALITY and WITHOUT CARE. The time stamps that we went in were approximately 10:00pm-10:08pm on January 7th 2020. read more
