Evidently, it is a one-person operation. No one was there at lunch, or 15 minutes after, that's when I left.

i really wish i had a better experience here given its small and local. i've come to this place twice with questions regarding getting my car inspected. the first time the owner just kinda looked at me weird and basically told me to leave. i came back again to give him the benefit of the doubt. the second time i didn't even get a chance to walk inside the shop, he came outside and stood outside of my car door and proceeded to literally shoo me away. i felt very disrespected and a little scared since he was hovering over my car...all i had were a couple questions and i left feeling really uncomfortable for a second time. i would not recommend young women going to this place alone read more

I do not recommend this business. I was refused service just now at 3:50pm on Dec 30th when the business hours are 9am-5:30pm M-F. I knocked on the door and the owner answered. I asked if they were open and he said it was a holiday weekend. I replied "oh I thought you were open until 5:30pm." I turned to walk away when he said he was going to inspect my car, but my tone sounded angry so he's no longer going do it. I turned back towards him and asked why he was being rude and he said he was just bouncing off me and to be sure to leave a bad review. Extremely rude man at the front. Refused to acknowledge my existence at all and I had to yell across the room to ask if I was even in the right place. However, he works in a town full of college kids and I know for a fact that's pretty annoying. BUT... the inspection took 3 minutes from the time I walked into the door and he charged the correct price. There are no frills here. I kinda like that. Quick and lovely is the 2 best ways to describe this car inspection place. The owner does all of the inspections himself and its the only thing he does, so it's much faster than most car centers. Fastest state inspection I have ever experienced. The best part about this place is, it is also the cheapest. When the guy told me how much it cost, I asked for a repeat because I was so used to paying anywhere from $35-$45, I spent $7. Initially the technician wasn't terribly talkative but became friendlier as he proceeded through the inspection. They were closed from 12-1 for lunch so I came back after lunch and he competed the entire process from the time I gave him the keys in 12 minutes. New system has lowered the inspection costs to $7 with the additional charges now part of registration. Google location is accurate in a strip center as this is a simple storefront with a garage entrance in the back. They also inspect motorcycles. Great experience for a necessary evil. read more

Extremely rude- a man walked out and grunted "half an hour". I didn't even know who he was talking to. I waited at the counter and he asked me what I wanted and I said I needed to get in line for my car and he yelled at me again half an hour. I told him he was rude and he yelled back- "yeah I am rude". Went down a few doors down and got taken care of with respect. Keep driving. First, let me say that Sticker Station has moved as of June 15th to 1540 S. IH-35 in San Marcos... just a couple of exits up the road. If you're southbound IH-35 it is exit 202 and then get over and turn in after Audio Outlet. This place is great! It is quick & simple. $14.50 cash (as of 8/11/2012) & you are out the door in no time. I get my car inspected at the sticker station every time. Earlier today I brought in my van for an inspection and it turned out that one of my rear brake lights was out. He went above and beyond and replaced my brake light bulb at no charge so that I could pass inspection. As always it was a fast and friendly service. read more

I confess that I'm horrible about keeping up with things like state inspection stickers, thus I was unsurprised to look at my windshield last week and discover that my vehicle was overdue for an inspection by a month. Of course as soon as I got home I logged onto Yelp to look up the nearest inspection station in San Marcos. Imagine my horror when Yelp told me that the closest one was in Austin. I knew for a fact that I had gone to a place in San Marcos last year, so I had to look it up using a different service. To avoid another such betrayal next year, writing this review shot to the top of my priority list. Really, there's not much to say about this place. It literally is just a sticker station, housed in a small two-port garage in the back of car dealership on I-35. It can be tricky to find since Google Maps gives you the wrong location,so here are the actual directions: Heading south on I-35, exit C M Allen and turn right onto Riverside Dr. like you're heading to the River Pub. You'll see a sign immediatly on your right that says "Sticker Station Entrance". The guy running the place is not chatty, but he is efficient. It literally took him ten minutes to inspect my car and ring me up. He only takes cash, so make sure you have $15 on you because that's how much it costs. Otherwise, it was very much a no muss, no fuss experience. He even removes your old sticker and cleans up all that frustrating sticker glue before putting your new sticker on for you. You can't really ask for more from a place like this. The one downside to this place is that they're closed for lunch between noon and 1:00 PM, so you might have to take lunch earlier or later than usual if you want to do this on your lunch break. read more

Great service at a reasonable price. The owner is quick and efficient. I've never had to wait very long even when he's busy and i was in luck today, only one there, but not for long. I think it's really crappy that he's being forced to move after 12 years of constant business. The car dealer next door owns the property and is retiring. Business is being handed down to his son. Need I say more. He'll be in a new loaction but says it might take him a couple of months to find a place, so don't despair if you can't find him.
