We had eaten the Ramen bowls last night. It was me and my kids as well as a friend and we all thought the bowls weren't that good. The broth had a very odd sweetness to it, it tasted almost artificial. There were way too many noodles although they were good. There was a good variety of vegetables but again everything tasted the same, the weird sweet flavor, you could not taste the vegetables themselves. And this morning my son woke up with diarrhea so we will not be going back there again. Plus, they did not have water which is standard at any restaurant. You were forced to buy a drink that wasn't cheap. Believe me, you need a drink because the food is super salty. I drank 2 bottles of water when I got home. Sushi sadness. Planned to go to Orgreen but they were closed this Sunday so we tried this place. We ordered poke bowls with fresh salmon and one with spicy tuna. The salmon was coated in a neon orange dressing which made us wonder if it was really salmon and perhaps they were trying to create a salmon-color for the fish. We asked about it and were told it was made fresh that day and dressed. It didn't smell or taste bad but it didn't have that buttery salmon flavor either. The neon orange color was too much (why not just leave it naked?) . We also ordered extra protein - spicy tuna - it came out like a giant scoop of orange ice cream and had a cat food texture. We took a little taste but couldn't eat it. We threw out 2/3 of our bowls which we never do. Sushi sadness. Suggest keeping the bowls fresh and simple. read more

I love going to this place for poki bowls even though they are about 20 min away from me. The food there is fresh and tastes good most times. There are some times where the consistency on quality and amount of food varies and hence why my review isn't 5 stars. its okay. nothing to write home about. The tonkatsu broth is good and so is the pork chasu, but the ramen isn't good. the ramen taste like Japanese grocery store bought ramen. So let me start by saying it's nice to have some new selections of food in Westfield . There aren't many Ramen spots in this area or surrounding towns for that matter. I enjoy a nice bowl of Ramen especially in the winter. Now the thing you can't really get in Jersey is Poke and though this place makes it slightly different from traditional Hawaiian way it's actually pretty good. It's like having spicy Tuna on top of either salad or rice. There are other options of a meat choice but I'm use to either fresh Tuna or Salmon . The service is fairly quick and the food is delicious. Now please keep in mind for anyone who has had Ramen from a few other restaurants either in Bloomfield , Edgewater , Somerset or New Brunswick it's not the same so don't expect it. I believe each place I have ever been to that has Ramen has its own unique taste in broth, and all the goodies that come along with it. So what is this whole sushritto craze, anyhow? Hubs and I took the boy out for some Sunday Sushritto yuminess to find out. The interior is bright and trendy, with very little space for eating in. So if you plan to dine in, try to find an off hour or day to visit. We went on Sunday at about 530pm. Nice booth to cozy into with the baby seat. Hubs and I each ordered sushirittos, his was shrimp tempura and mine was Scottish salmon. We also ordered the Shrimp Bao buns to start. Honestly, the best thing we are were the buns. The shrimp were plump and flash fried. The sauce and crunchy cabbage were so perfectly complementary. I could have eaten 19 more. The rolls we ordered weren't very balanced and honestly was far too much rice. The ingredients themselves were quite fresh and tasty, but I guess we aren't great sushi roll creators because they didn't mesh well. Perhaps one of the pre-set combos by the restaurant would work better? The ramen bowls looked great and I could see how they would be delicious on a chilly evening. We will probably be back to try some other menu items. read more

Excellent ramen in Westfield. The broth is super flavorful - you can tell that soup has been cooked for a long time. The noodles are good - springy and plentiful. The pork belly was nice and juicy but not too fatty (aka, just right). The one issue I had was that the eggs were cooked inconsistently. Mine was a little over, while my husband's was perfectly soft-boiled. Also, I found that both types of mushrooms, while adding some great texture, didn't have any flavor. Maybe a light marinading might help? Bamboo shoots were good though. Husband ate a roll as well - the American Dream. He said it was good, but watching him eat it was pretty funny. Why is it so messy? Or is it just him? One note on the service - I think you just need a little more of a standardization of policies. Like when people leave, immediately bus and wipe the tables. We walked in and there were two empty but dirty tables. Same for when we left too. The bathroom was out of tp and pt - you just have to have a regular checking schedule of this stuff. Refused to even give me points on my rewards card and blamed it on Door Dash. Managed very poorly, they clearly do not double check orders. The receipts are VERY easy to read & see that there are FOUR items, not three. I am extremely disappointed, especially in times like these when there is a global pandemic. I had the Miso Ramen here, and for the rarity of ramen places in New Jersey, it's not too bad. The staff is friendly, I substituted my pork in the bowl for chicken. They have done it the past few times I've been here, they don't mind the substitute. The bowl was filled with lots of toppings, it's worth the ramen experience. I have only had their food once and all I will say is I am never going to return. My parents and I got take out, and it was their second time getting food from there. I thought the quality of the ramen was horrible, and the noodles tasted like 69 cent ramen noodles from CVS. The noodles were disgusting, and so was the overall taste of the ramen. It's not a covid problem. This place is just bad. The moment i walked inside it smelled so bad that i contemplated leaving. But i toughed it out because i had heard decent things and was curious to try the ramen. Big mistake. I ordered the original tonkotsu at the employees recommendation. Worst customer service ever! Can not get your order right to save there lives! I have tried more than a dozen times but still ever time they can not get any order right even when you use Uber eats. I'm a big fan of this franchise. I've eaten at the Morristown and Summit location on numerous occasions. This was the first time I've tried the Westfield location and by far it's the worst. I came here for dinner last night with a friend . We both ordered the burrito bowl , mine had sushi rice with crab stick and my friend had hers with salad and chicken. We also shared the shrimp bao appetizer. The entree and app came to $17 , which isn't bad. Everything was delicious and fresh tasting . The service was quick and efficient . I went in and ordered the SPICY TONKOTSU to go. I am sure it would have tasted even more fantastic if I sat in the restaurant when it came out, but I got it to go. I was not disappointed! The pork, mushrooms, eggs, everything were tasty and fresh, the broth is delicious (which they separated for me in another bowl for my take out). So delicious!! The service is also helpful and nice. No where near sushi grade tuna, it's covered in mayo but this place is great as a "fast-food" type ramen restaurant. LOVE the nachos as an appetizer and I can't get enough of the spicy tinkotsu. My kids devour the "American Dream" roll which is a burrito sized roll. My only suggestion is DO NOT ORDER ONLINE! Apparently, someone skims over the online order and enters into their own system however they like with no regard for special instructions or quantity. Very disappointed in our pickup order as it was all wrong and missing items. We had to go back a second time. And parking in Westfield is difficult enough once at dinnertime... never mind a second trip. Stick to sit-down option and you won't be sorry. (But again, don't expect chunks of tuna, even for your poke bowl... it's really mashed tuna in mayo but still tasty.) read more

I have never had an authentic ramen bowl before so I was going with some suggestions from Yelp and the workers there. I will say that the bao buns were delicious! I had a shrimp and a chicken. Now for the ramen..I love all the ingredients in the bowl but I do not like the spicy broth so much. I actually need some sweetness and little tang in that so I wish I could have a Thai tom young koong soup with all of these delicious ingredients added..i know it's not the same Asian food but I am missing that flavor...this broth is almost too bitter or almost burnt tasting to me but I will definitely be back for a sushi burrito and the bao buns!!! read more

My girlfriend and I come here a couple times a month when we're both in town and it is one of our favorite restaurants in the area! The portion sizes are amazing for the poke bowls and the veggies and fish are extremely fresh and tasty- awesome pricing! The food always comes out quickly and has never once disappointed. However, this is for sushi and especially sushi bowls - we have not tried out the ramen yet. Overall, we love the variety available and have been long-time lovers of the restaurant itself. Having been to many different sushi bowl and burrito places, we can easily say that this place has by FAR the best sushi bowl. Get that and guarantee no disappointment. I've gotten Inspiration Roll to-go twice and ordered the sushi burrito on both occasions. The first time, I chose the spicy yellow fin tuna as my base with the multi-grain rice. In addition, they give you the choice of 4 vegtables, a sauce and topping such as sesame seeds or tempura flakes to top it off. None of it should matter though since they're mostly cheap fillers anyway. With the spicy yellow fin tuna burrito, they gave me a decent amount of fish, despite a slightly larger than average ratio of mayonnaise, the mix was too thin. The second time however, I ordered a sushi burrito with the scottish salmon and should've known better. I practically needed a microscope to find the salmon, it was essentially a multi-grain rice and a bunch of lousy fillers burrito. The picture of one side is attached(just noting, there wasn't much salmon hiding in the back either): In addition, the majority of the staff are young and inexperienced and it showed. For the spicy yellow fin tuna, I ordered spicy mayo for a sauce and they didn't put it on. For the scottish salmon burrito, I ordered teriyaki sauce and they forgot to put it on again. If I ever go back, hopefully my third time will be the charm I'm looking for. A safer bet would be to eat in-store next time. read more
