Eventually I sold the Prius (over 200k on the original battery, and going strong!). I bought a 2015 Chevrolet Volt, and got into the habit of having the Tonkin Chevrolet dealership maintain it (I recall I checked and Atomic Auto wasn't in a position to do work on it back then). But over the years, the dealership kept increasing their prices, and I just wasn't happy. So, I decided to go back to Atomic Auto. I'm glad I did. First off, I like how they have invested in simple technology/tools. They have a good system to text with you, so that you don't need to get on the phone. I love that. Their system includes photos, and detailed notes. Also, I like that they have an after-hours drop-off, *and* an after-hours pick-up. I also have found them to be honest in terms of the services. As my old Prius aged, I was getting an occasional error. They told me what was going on, and gave me a low-cost way to maintain it (spraying some mass airflow spray into the intake). It helped keep that guy on the road (heck, it's probably still driving today). Finally, I have found their services to be complete. I complained to the dealership about a super-obvious sound coming from my wheels when I turned, and the dealership said they couldn't re-create it (which seems sus, since it was super obvious and re-creatable). I didn't even mention it to Atomic, but they picked up on it during a test drive, and diagnosed it easily. I'm looking forward to keeping my Volt going for many years to come with the help of this crew.

This requires two working USB ports. Come to find out, the auxiliary USB(s) don't work. I'm hoping it's a fuse but I doubt it. The person who replaced the battery did not know what HE was doing. Obviously!

They took the car and had it for several days and called me when they thought they were done.. I picked it up and paid close to $1700 dollars and drove home A few days later I was going to Washington State and when I got half way across the bridge white smoke, which I found out later, was steam puring out the hood! I just rolled to a patch of grass between the exits to Vancouver and Camas and stopped . I called a tow truck and had him take it back to Arthur's Automotive. It was Sunday so he parked it in the lot, locked it up and left the keys.in it. I left a message letting them know what happened. They called a couple days later letting me know the engine was completely ruined and would cost too much for a replacement. Not one time did they apologize. I had told him there was a problem with the water container and needed to watch it for leaks. They talked to me about it and looked at it. I've been advised to seek legal advice so I will be doing that at the advice of family members.

Within these appointments, I experienced overbooking which resulted in them not even getting to my car, repeated delays due to parts, being left without my car for an entire weekend with no pickup option (even though my car was drivable w/o the heat/ac) and ultimately discovering that my camera and radio were no longer working after the repair, an issue they caused. When I returned to have that fixed, I also noticed I was charged for a part I never authorized, which they later acknowledged was an internal mistake and refunded. While I understand parts delays can happen, the lack of communication and consideration for the inconvenience caused was unacceptable. Although a small discount was applied when I asked for compensation, in my opinion, the amount did not align with the price I paid, the ongoing issues and unprofessionalism I experienced. I won't be returning to Arthur's and I can't recommend their services.

    DO NOT trust nor do business with this company. I knew I was buying a salvage vehicle and…read moreunderstood the inherent risks that go with buying one. But, I had an independent mechanic conduct a pre-purchase inspection and also purchased a five year extended warranty. The mechanic found no major issues, so I felt comfortable buying it. I made the trip from Chico California to Portland by Amtrak (14 plus hours) so that I could see and drive it for myself. Unfortunately, in the 20-25 minutes it took the Uber driver to go from Amtrak to their office, upon walking into the lot saw a major dent on the driver side door. The salesperson stayed a parking lot attendant had hit the vehicle causing significant damage to the door and panel to the right of the door. I would have had a body shop give an estimate but it was after 5 pm on a Friday (March 24, 2023) by the time I got to the dealership and the salesperson assured me there was no structural damage. There was no reasonable way to stay Friday, Sat and Sunday to get a quote(s) from at least one or two body shops that Monday. The owner indicated it would only cost them $1000 to fix it and they'd ship it to me. Not wanting to trust their work I requested they agree to pay the cost based on at least three quotes in Chico. They said no and settled on only covering me for $2500. I should've known better but was exhausted and didn't want to take a train back. It was exceedingly bad decision to acquiesce and am now stuck with this problem. I got completely ripped off because the damage to the vehicle that they did, supposedly in the 20 minute ride from Amtrak. For all I know is the damage happened days before I left Chico and they knew if I got there after traveling such a long distance I'd be less likely to walk away. Now I'm looking at least spending another $6000 to repair the damage because of structural damage to the driver side door post, having to replace the driver side door with a new down, and damage further down. I would never recommend this company as they clearly knew this vehicle had more substantial damage than what they indicated. Making it more skeevy was the salesperson telling me they would be fixing it in house & would only cost the owner $1000 to make the repairs. In retrospect, it tells me they're either ignorant, incompetent or outright deceptive. Let my crappy decision serve as a warning that you will likely get ripped off. Do not use this company because the salespeople and owner are unscrupulous. If I could give less than a one star I would.

And with a typical lame excuse I heard here and almost every shop; if we replace the wrong part and car still doesn't work - the customer gets mad at us." In my experience the only time that happens is when the shop in fact screws up. But they actually had a mechanic come out and take a look at the problem. Mechanic who said he did most of the Euro work said he would have the gal up front start (Jeka) working on quote. Mechanic went in disappeared and left on his motorcycle. Sad thing... he didn't have any idea of the know issue our car had. So after standing around 10 -15 minutes, waiting for the mechanic, who never told me he was getting off - I checked with 2nd gal in front and had no idea of what I was talking about - even tho the Jeka said she had told 2nd gal, and told me that 2nd gal was working on "it." Yea... right. What a finger pointing game. -NEXT DAY- No emailed quote came as promised from the PREVIOUS day when I was at the shop. I had to call them, gave them a deadline for later that day to get me the quote, and stiLL, NEVER heard back. I bet that's how the repair would have gone, too, had they actually did anything after (not) producing a quote.

If I don't have to spend it, I won't - and being poor eliminates preventative care. Sunday afternoon, I'm driving up 82nd, and something pops. Power steering is gone. All sorts of red lights light up and shit all over my dashboard. I've got a lot of important stuff to do this week that I absolutely need a car for. I just started a new job, I can't have this happen right now, I'm panicking. I called Gateway Auto Repair. I'm stoked that somebody even picked up the phone on a Sunday afternoon. I told them where I was, and they told me they'd be there in ten minutes. They came and got my car for me. Again, I'd like to emphasize, Sunday afternoon. Sunday night, I'm back home, with my car functioning properly in my driveway, a little less than six hours later. The intricacies of what went wrong with my car I'll primarily attribute to negligence on my part. They provided the following: -An honest, fast, on-site diagnosis. -An accurate estimate which he met without any hidden fees. -Honest recommendations as to other immediate needs for my vehicle. -An unheard of turnaround time to get my car back to me, I've never had auto repairs done so quickly. Seriously, awesome. My week isn't totally fucked thanks to these guys.

I searched for a mobile mechanic that would be able to replace and re-key the ignition. I hired Rick to do the work and paid Rick cash for the work in good faith as he assured me that I was in good hands. Rick said that this should take him a day to complete. After over a week, the ignition was replaced I was provided a new key. However, the key does not work and I am no better off than I was before I hired Rick to do the work. I can not start the car which will now have to be towed to another mechanic. I am out the money that I paid Rick and he will not return my calls. Rick seldom returns phone calls and now that the ignition switch and key do not work Rick will not complete the work that I paid him for.

    I've been taking my vehicles to K & M for at least ten years and usually had a pretty decent…read moreexperience. Last June I took my Tahoe to them for an AC service. They did the job and got the AC working for me but, when I went to pick it up, I noticed that the backup camera wasn't working. I informed the guy at the desk and he immediately started gaslighting me by insinuating that the camera going out was an intermittent problem that had probably been happening for a while. I told him that the camera had worked perfectly EVERY time I put the Tahoe in reverse ever since I purchased it until his shop serviced it that day and asked him to have the technician that worked on the vehicle undo whatever he did to make it stop working. After three "attempts" to fix the issue over several weeks, he gave up and admitted that they hadn't even tried to figure out the problem because he said that, by working on the AC, they hadn't came anywhere near the information center where the camera picture would normally appear. Through the entire process he continued to gaslight me by insisting that it had been an intermittent problem BEFORE I took it to them for the AC service. Bottom line; they never fixed the issue and I still don't have a working backup camera and now I have to find a new, reliable garage to service my vehicles.
