I'm a tough critic, fearful of dental work, and I can't say enough good things about my root canal experience at Integrity. Everything went fine during my consultation, but as soon as Dr. John came in at the end of the evaluation to explain the plan to me, I knew I was in the sturdy hands of a consummate professional. On the day of my appointment, they got me in quickly, started the procedure right away, and kept me apprised of the status throughout. It took probably 20-30 minutes, the only pain I felt was the second shot of novocaine before the procedure, and a few hours post-procedure, there is no noticeable pain. If you need a root canal, don't put it off like I did. Schedule an appointment with Dr. John right away... the anticipation was MUCH worse than the procedure itself. Thanks doc! Dr. Buoncristinani is great! For a long time I was terrified of going to the dentist. Dr. Buoncristinani has eliminated some of that fear. While I getting a root canal isn't pleasant it was painless. I am so pleased with my emergency root canal experience yesterday. If you're going to have to get tooth surgery, this is your team! Dr. Buoncristiani was not only efficient, thorough and friendly, but his chairside manner cannot be matched. I felt instantly comfortable and in safe, capable hands. Greeted by the lovely office staff, the check in system was seamless and easy. The office is beautifully appointed, calm and welcoming! I was taken care of by Carrie who has the sweetest personality. She reviewed procedures, cost and selected equipment they may be using for my treatment. I love information, so this was wonderful for me! Carrie even offered me a blanket if I was chilly, which was so thoughtful and kind of her. As she prepped the room for my root canal, we chatted and giggled a bit and it made the experience that much more pleasant and calming. He would check in with me periodically and make sure I was doing well during my tooth surgery which made me feel well taken care of which is so valuable! Recently, Dr. Buoncristiani performed a root canal on one of my lower, front teeth. There was no discomfort or pain during the procedure and my recovery was quick. I had been to Dr. Buoncristiani previously, so my expectations were high - and they were exceeded. He is very knowledgeable in this field and during both a consultation prior to the procedure and on the day of the root canal, he provided a thorough explanation of what was causing pain in the area and how it would be treated. Given the small size of the tooth, Dr. Buoncristiani used a very safe and conservative approach that minimized risk to the tooth structure. Dr. Buoncristiani epitomizes what in business I referred to as "The Four Cs": Competence, Confidence, Conviction and Communication. Competence - knowledge and experience - is important; however, it is also important that the information is provided with confidence and conviction. Dr. Buoncristiani communicates easily, solicits questions and perhaps most remarkably, personally called on the evening of the procedure to check if everything was going well. The dental assistants present during the procedure and the office staff members were all friendly, highly professional and engaged, reflecting another business axiom regarding how "The Tone at the Top" drives the culture of an entire organization. The facility is modern as is the equipment used for diagnostic testing and the procedure itself. High power microscopy is used to help assure an effective outcome. Integrity Endodontics is conveniently located at the corner of PCH and Avocado. Parking at the location is not a problem and is not crowded. I was referred to Dr. John Buoncristiani for a root canal consultation following complaints of hot and cold sensitivity. I was DREADING it! I had no good memories of previous root canals, just torturous nightmares and recurrent PTSD. All that for a troublesome tooth up top and way in the back. I told my dentist that I would never have another root canal. She said, "Debby, I've got a guy I can send you to in Corona Del Mar. He can do it without the pain." I took the referral and let it live at the bottom of my purse for 11 weeks and 3 days before I relented. My appointment was scheduled for 12:30PM on a Friday for xrays and a consultation. Dr. B was very personable, kind, and respectful. He shared an informative mini lesson along with a sketched illustration of his procedure. I was offered a same-day time slot (about an hour later) so I had a quick lunch and returned. He told me the anesthesia injection would hurt a bit but nothing else would. He was right!! I used OTC pain meds for 2 days only. I'm on day 5 with NO PAIN, no nightmares, and no dental PTSD.  Dr. B is a savior for dental fraidy cats. Dr. Buoncristiani and his team are so kind, helpful, efficient, and thorough. The office manager Nora was able to check my insurance and give me estimate on my out of pocket right away, I appreciated knowing what to expect. I was scared I was going to lose my tooth but after the consultation and exam Dr. Buoncristiani was confident he could treat it. I was able to have the treatment immediately following consultation. Dr. John Buoncristiani is an extremely confident, efficient and just really an amazing endodontist. I am a Canadian citizen visiting my daughter; one of my teeth had been accidentally injured. Due to fear of major tooth reconstruction and cost, I was reluctant to visit a dentist in CA. Leaving the tooth untreated led to it being severely infected and shaky, too - a very scary point to be in. Also, I did not have dental coverage in the US. Therefore, I had many worries. However, Dr. B and his team solved all of my concerns. He determined that I needed a root canal, which he carried out very well with efficiency and professionalism - and above all, no pain at all. In fact, the same night the tooth was treated, Dr. B. made a phone call checkup to make sure everything was still going well. I saw him 10 years ago for a root canal and had such a great experience when I was having issues with another tooth I looked him up to get his second opinion. I was so happy I found him because he made me feel so comfortable by explaining all that was going on in simpler terms and what he could do to get my out of pain. Dr. Buoncristiani and Nora have been above and beyond accommodating and compassionate. I began experiencing a dull but increasing toothache Sunday evening. On Monday, I went to my dentist where I was told I'll need a root canal and was originally scheduled for Thursday to get it done. However, it quickly became unbearable overnight despite OTC pain meds. I emailed Nora at almost 10 p.m. and I couldn't believe it when she replied two minutes later--after hours! She was so helpful and got me in today (Tuesday) for treatment, even though it's the Dr.'s day off. I broke a tooth went in for a crown, that dentist referred me to Integrity. They got me in same day and because I needed antibiotics they scheduled the dreaded root canal the next morning. Dr. Otis and his back up singers truly rock it. My vibe is a bit more alternative rock. Hard to imagine being happy with a root canal, I couldn't handle it right away and they actually had to stop, Dr. Otis was totally understanding and offered to schedule me with an anesthesiologist, but I was able to relax and it was actually pretty uneventful from that point on (which is a good thing). I had a horrible experience. The doctor was great and welcoming, but the staff were rude and unprofessional. One of them when she came to explain to me what needs to be done had a tone. In addition, they did not let me go to the front to pay, they asked me for the credit card inside the room, then let me out to get the receipt. They make me feel like I will run away without paying. She directly told me I cannot get out until I give her the credit card to run it first, then I can go out to get the receipt. But beside the payment way, they were really unprofessional, I have never ever had such bad experience. I will never go back. read more

I hate anything related to dental work; however the staff here and the Dr really go above and beyond to squash any fears or discomfort i might have had upon sitting in my chair. i had a root canal done today and I i felt no discomfort during the procedure. Like the Dr says in his about us page he takes the time to really ensure the experience is simple and easy. the environment is clean and welcoming from being greeted from the reception to preparing everything before the procedure with (Carrie) to Dr. B and his staff really made me feel at ease with the work they did and saving my tooth. My dentist told me I needed to go see a specialist for a possible root canal and gave me a referral for a different Dr. I did some research and also looked on yelp for reviews and decided to see Dr. Buoncristiani instead. He was much further than the other referral but I really wanted to see someone that I felt comfortable with. It was totally worth the drive! All of the staff that I came in contact with; the receptionist on the phone, the receptionist when I walked in, George- his assistant, the Doctor and his other assistants and the girl who checked me out... everyone was super helpful and kind. After some tests it turned out I did need a root canal (it was my first). Dr Buoncristiani took time to explain everything and made the whole process comfortable. One thing that especially stood out to me was how well the whole team worked together. They were like a well oiled machine - on top of everything, professional and also friendly with each other..
