My desktop tower stopped booting and I tried to bring it back for a day with no success They diagnosed the problem within hours of my carrying the patient through the door. They had it up and running with a new SSD boot drive the next day. In addition they did a great job of cleaning up my sloppy installation with a current version of Windows 10. FANTASTIC!! I recently took an external hard drive that had crashed because I have valuable information in it. The business advertises itself as doing data recovery. I dropped off the hard drive and was told that I would get a call in a few days with a diagnosis. There are signs everywhere that there is a diagnostic fee of $59. If you get the work done, the diagnostic fee is applied to the price of the work. After a week of waiting I called to get a status. I called on a Saturday and was told to call Monday to speak to the tech. I called backkn Monday and was told the drive was too damaged for any data to be extracted. I paid the $59 fee. See snapshot from my bank statement. I threw away the receipt. I then continued looking and found a place to ship it to, free of charge. They received it and immediately contacted me back that they are able to recover data, maybe not all but guaranteed recovery. That is in the works as I write this review. This is why I didn't write the review sooner because now I know for a fact that they gave me wrong information. I would be totally fine and cool with paying a disgnostic fee to get a diagnosis. This place didn't give me that. For all I know they may not have done anything. They said the drive qould not work with any of their software. I qould be totally okay with them being honest and telling me this is what is wrong, you need these parts and it will cost this much and we do not do it. It is obvious they do not have the expertise or equiment to do data recovery unless it is simple but if that was the case I could have done it. In any event, I do not feel that this business is ethical when they charge you to tell you something can't be salvaged when I now know it can be. Manager on duty was very kind and helpful, and they had a small supply of in stock available equipment ready for purchase for business users. They do carry a number of niche business computer pieces, as well as some gaming hardware pieces - such as nvidia series GT1070 card. Intellect Computers did an outstanding job fixing an older and difficult to work on Xerox laser printer. They were even able to find and replace a part that was difficult to obtain, and even more difficult to swap out, requiring a complete disassembly of the printer. Despite this, and the amount of labor involved, they still charged a reasonable fee. Absolute garbage of a company. They did further damage to my device and when I tried to talk to them about it they refused to listen and immediately started saying that they don't refund anything before I even said anything about a refund. I don't know about you but that's very suspicious behavior to me. The man who was at the front desk refused to wear a mask even though I asked him to multiple times because I'm a compromised person and told me to leave if I don't feel safe. If you have any intellect whatsoever, you'll avoid this place. So we brought my girlfriend's Mac Powerbook to this place. The hard drive crashed and she wanted a new one installed. They told us what the hard drive would cost and what the labor would cost. It came to about $210 total. Keep in mind, my girl is not tech-savvy so that's why she brought me along. I suggested installing an SSD drive in lieu if the basic hard drive, but apparently that fell on deaf ears. So we picked up the Powerbook and away we went. We reinstalled all her software, etc and she had a working laptop again. That is, until the hard drive CRASHED AGAIN ugh!!!! She brought it back and they wanted to charge us for the labor again, but that they'll swap out the drives. REALLY? They installed a hard drive that crashed within two months. I suspect either they installed a used drive, tried to repair her original drive or something sketchy like that. The guy told us, "laptops get banged around and drives crash easily." That's odd because her Powerbook SAT ON HER DESK THE ENTIRE TIME. So she had to pay for a guy to remove a faulty drive and install a new drive - again, NOT an SSD drive - and away she went. It's working fine but I am ticked off that we had to pay for labor the second time since OBVIOUSLY this was not our fault. I mean, they could have (at least) charged us a reduced rate the second time around - if not anything at all. My girl is the type to just pay and not argue but these people are LUCKY I wasn't there the second time. We will NEVER come back again. read more

I was in the process of moving when my computer began experiencing significant issues with the hard drive. I brought it to a computer repair place in NY, who was unable to fix the problem. I knew as soon as I was somewhat settled, I would have to find somewhere to take my laptop. I found this place and am incredibly glad I did. The whole team, especially George the technician was incredibly helpful, patient and most importantly, knowledgeable. I thought the laptop was having one major issue; when it turned out it was actually two separate issues, George spent the time to research possible fixes and was able to repair both problems. I've been meaning to do this review for awhile. I was getting multiple blue screens and was able to temporarily repair the computer before having issues again. I took it to Intellect. It took them 2 tries to fix it, but that seemed fair given the number of errors I was getting. They eventually made it work for what I needed even though it one of the graphics cards needed to be replaced. I came in with a perfectly good audio system and left with no audio. I asked for them to fix what they had done. They wanted to charge me for it. I demanded that since i came in to get a new screen, I should not have to pay for what was not broken when I came in. They did a half hearted job on it and when I told them, they insisted on my paying for it. I believe this is a dishonest company. Total turnaround time was four days from delivery through diagnosis, attempting a data recovery (they actually recovered quite a bit of data) and a install of a new hard drive.
