A big disappointment. We have passed by this hotel while visiting Chicago in the past and have wanted to try this hotel. When we first checked in, we asked for one of the renovated rooms. Diego at the front desk insisted that there was none left and the only room that was available was the older handicap accessible room. There was an upgraded room available so we asked if we could be upgraded. He said it would cost an extra $1500! He insisted we had no other options! He wasn't very understanding, nor friendly. He just made us very unhappy. As we left the front desk, we were left with a bad first impression of the hotel and its service. It didn't get any better once we went to our room. It was an older room, looked dated and just looked bare and cold. The bathroom had a pedestal sink which made everything inconvenient. No place to hang your hand towel or place your toiletries near the sink. We were waken by sirens throughout the night. Only plus was the location and a Starbucks connected to the hotel. I am pretty objective since we travel all the time. I doubt we will stay at this hotel again. There are just too many other options with better quality of service and better accommodations.

Andrew at the desk was super friendly and welcoming! I was supposed to have a city view, but when I got into my room it faced a wall. Within minutes, I called hotel services and was moved to the correct type of room. The City view consisted of the main road and part of the river. Nice I was pretty cold here, even with the heat on 80. An engineer came out to test and said the heat was working properly. It just flows on the ceiling across the wall. He also put in a request for me to get blankets, which were brought up within 10 minutes! Guest services works fast! They also have a text chain that you can message to help help at anytime This hotel is along a very busy/tourist area. Quite a few restaurants etc. Internet access was a hit and miss. As a IHG member, I had free internet. But it would constantly drop from my laptops. I pretty much had to use the hotspot on my cell phone to access internet. Bed was comfy. Room was kind of tight. There aren't any drawers to use. There is an expensive wet bar. And a small fridge. No microwave in the room. Bathroom was nice and spacious. Only quip, there was a bottle of shampoo next to a bottle of lotion on the bathroom sink. Are people washing their hands with shampoo now? Not me! lol Apparently there are different towers for this conference hotel. No issues with wait times for the elevators. Michael Jordan's and an Asian restaurant are located on the property. Room service is also available. I spent $74 on breakfast for room service.... yikes! Food was good tho. $10 auto gratuity which is the same as a TIP per the person who dropped my food off

I won a 2 night stay including breakfast staycation here in a raffle last year! Due to fur baby circumstances it took me a while to redeem but I finally did it. I picked a weekend, Memorial Day as well, so I would not have to go to work Monday morning after check-in. Not sure I have ever been in here, (I see the Starbucks first, or Jordan's restaurant) but it is a gorgeous lobby with dimly lit atmosphere and a few seats. The high ceilings are a great touch, with a balcony and stairs to the 2nd floor, where the breakfast is located. I don't know which tower my room was, but I got a junior suite on the 27th floor, facing east-ish. I was glad the check-in clerk treated us well and not like 'coupon-redeemers'. I came in on Saturday, the same day as the Michael Jordan Steakhouse reservation, but that's another separate review. I went to the room and it was beautiful! In 1 room there were 2 tables, minibar with fridge, coffee maker, sofa, and tv. The other room had ANOTHER Tv, closet, bedroom, and entrance to the bathroom. It was a room big enough to entertain several people really but I wanted some 'me-time'! Elevators work using key cards when going up and to the pool/gym so keep that in mind. The next day I went to breakfast/brunch. The place is called 'Center court' a basketball term as it is somewhat adjacent to MJ's Steakhouse. It can be ala carte or full buffet which is what my package included. It was slightly smaller than many I've seen but it had a bit of everything: hot and cold cereal, fruit, yogurt, proteins, eggs, bacon, pancakes, and toast for making. I wish they had more pork free sausages and bacon, but maybe they were part of the a la carte menu? Drink service was by the wait staff, as in coffee, juice water, etc. I tried a little of everything and it was good, but the eggs were just ok. The bathroom was spacious but not huge, and I don't love the toilet by the shower, but it was a good break from the tiny one I have at home. The final highlight, besides the location where one can walk to so many attractions and places to eat, is the pool. We didn't use the swim or use the gym but I wanted to sit by the pool and read. It was quiet and active on and off for a Sunday afternoon. We sat in lounge chairs and absorbed the heated room (it was chilly in May) and it was awesome. I liked seeing showers in the locker room, so many hotels have gotten rid of showers these days, it's a shame. It's a good way to save time when you share a room. They enrolled me the rewards program, so I'd consider staying there again to earn points!

Cutest mini ketchups served at business breakfast. Even a ketchup hater like me couldn't deny how cute they are.

Right in the heart of Chicago. Very walkable area - you can get a deep dish pizza, visit the Starbucks Reserve, shop at all the stores (everything from Coach to Marshalls), and do all the sightseeing. Amenities are great - loved the light up mirror, water bottles in the room, Bluetooth connection to TV for music. Bring your bathing suit because the pool will "wow" you. Gym is a bit tight, but there are different areas to spread out. Would have loved fans and small towels (not just pool sized ones).

The Doctor and I wrapped up a wonderful staycation here at The InterContinental. For an old hotel, it is in remarkable condition. We decided on a king size suite in the Executive Tower on the 22nd floor. The room was in remarkable shape and very spacious (about 900 sq ft). There was a full size sitting room well separated from the main bedroom. We also had two full bathrooms and that really made the stay quite nice as we could both spread out our toiletries and not rush to make time for the other person to get ready for the day. There was a mini bar (which we never use) and a nice size fridge to store our bottles of bubbles. The suite had two entrances, one for the sitting room and one for the main entrance to the bedroom. Each entrance had its own door bell and you could set the doorbells to "do not disturb". There were two separate closets, each equipped with its own safe and two working desks. Both showers had great water pressure and there were plenty of towels. The bathroom in the main bedroom area had a separate glassed walk-in shower and tub. The second bathroom off from the sitting room had a shower in the tub. Both tubs had grab bars for those that may need assistance getting in and out of the tub. The suite had windows on all side except the the wall next to the hallway, so there was plenty of natural light. And the bed was so amazing! Not sure what kind of mattress it was, but man when my head that pillow, I was out! It was so comfortable! The Doctor thought it might be one of those foam ones, but we couldn't see the name due how tight the sheets were tucked in, but it was so comfortable! Usually I sleep with music, listening through headphones. Twice during our stay, I fell asleep before I could plug in. The location is ideal as there are a lot of restaurants, bars and shopping within walking distance to visit, but if you want to just hang out in the restaurant, there is the option of Michael Jordan's place downstairs or the Mexican fusion place that has happy hour margaritas from 3-5 pm. The Doctor and I spent part of an afternoon roaming around the floors where the various rooms for events were, just looking around at the stain glass, art work, fountains, etc. There is a lot of history in this hotel, with a lot of Egyptian and Messianic symbolism. There was a lovely green couch I would have loved to have packed up to take home with me. The staff all round was was pleasant and attentive. Everyone we ran into spoke and said good day or hi. This will definitely be a repeat for us as a staycation location, but probably will look to move to a higher floor for a better view. While we did have a few of Michigan Ave, the river and lake, there was a decorative wall/ledge outside that was about halfway up the view of the window. One of the things l like to do is sit and watch traffic go up and down the streets, however with the wall placement, I was required to stand to see traffic on Michigan Ave. But this was not a deal breaker for me, we still had fun. We even got to see a protest about Ukraine in front of the Wrigley Building. If you are looking for someplace to stay that does not require a car and is a short walk to a lot of restaurants and shopping, this is the place to stay.

*This review is for the pool pass only. Me and my mini me decided to get a pool pass during spring break. The concierge & staff were very friendly; although there was some slight miscommunication about locating the locker room & programming the locker. Anyways, it is a gorgeous gym & Olympic size pool. I also made reservations for the Michael Jordan steakhouse which is conveniently located inside of the hotel.

You cannot beat this location on the Magnificent Mile a couple of blocks to the Riverwalk. Beautifully decorated hotel, welcoming staff, clean rooms and an insight Starbucks!

We recently visited Chicago and stayed at the Intercontinental. As soon as I walked in I fell in love with the hotel. I loved the decor and vibe. We arrived earlier than check-in time. Our room was not available, which was understandable, however the front desk agent gave us free drink coupons. Although it wasn't necessary, it was greatly appreciated. All the staff was friendly and attentive. We left our luggage at the bell desk and the gentlemen working there were also very friendly and just had a great demeanor. Forty minutes later I received a text that our room was ready. Our room was clean and the bed was so comfortable. We truly enjoyed our stay here. Next time I'm in Chicago I will definitely stay here again.

Booked a decent 2 night stay with points but was still charged $32/night in amenities. Room itself was standard, quite small and old - no outlet by the mirror so wife had to do her hair elsewhere. The pillows are the worst - too soft and had no hold, got awful night of sleep both nights, even with both pillows stacked on top of each other. Friendly staff at the check in check out counter, and being a platinum member we were given vouchers for free beverages at the bar. Now on to the good things: - Prime location, very walkable, navy pier less than 20 min walk away, close to shops and public transit - Gym with weights and plenty of treadmills, connected to a beautiful pool (see pic!). Sad we didn't bring our bathing suits otherwise would've taken advantage

This review is for the amazing massage i received in the spa. Greta gave thee best massage ever. She asked about my pressure preference and she nailed it! The massage was an hr and let me tell you, if I could have stayed, I would have. The calming sounds of the birds chirping and waterfalls or streams was just fantastic. Definitely a 20/10.

Overall a nice hotel but there's a few things I could have been happier with.. 1. We got a deal on the room for 1/2 the usual price, if I would have paid $500+ a night for a room here I would have been disappointed. 2. THERE ARE A LOT OF KIDS HERE! If you are a person looking for a city get away with no children, this is not the place. They were all over in the lap pool screaming and splashing, it was not relaxing. 3. Valet is around $88 A NIGHT and parking is hard to find but if you do drive yourself please make sure to use the app Spot hero (not sponsored) and book a slot online to park in or else you will be spending a heavy amount on a spot for overnight. 4. The room was okay, the blinds were broken and there were some stains all over. It was an okay room. The bed was comfortable and the shower was nice so that was a plus. 5. The workers were very kind and helpful, they are the ones who directed us to use spot hero for parking. 6. If you plan on spending all your time in the city this is a solid place to stay but if you want to go anywhere else I would suggest staying somewhere that is closer to the things you are planning on doing. Make sure to have solid walking shoes and a plan.

This property acts like a scammer... won't let you cancel no matter what your reservation says. They also won't let you file a negative review. Stay at Marriott, they treat frequent guests w respect.

We chose the Intercontinental because: 1) We arrived by taxi and didn't need to spend the $88/day valet parking option, 2) its proximity to points of interest, and 3) we are IHG Kimpson Rewards members so we received a small (but largely insignificant) discount on the room. We chose a standard one on the 22nd floor to cut down on some of the nighttime street noise. The carpeting was somewhat worn . One of the room shades was broken, and the toilet failed to function until addressed by a maintenance crew member. The flat screen's Bluetooth interface was nonfunctional, unfortunately too. The space however a very clean. I want to shout out to the housekeepers who did an OUTSTANDING job in our room every day of our stay. It was consistently cleaned early, left freshen beautifully, and well stocked with essentials. The women i encountered are worth their weight in gold. We are at all the onsite restaurants: Casa CHI, Michael Jorden's Steakhouse and Starbucks. Kudos around for 'one-stop' goodness! I was encouraged by the desk staff (thanks Fredy!) to bring a couple of my grandkids to swim in the GORGEOUS and well-maintained pool. All Fitness Center facilities and equipment I used were in top working order, and again - everything was meticulously clean. My companion and i even enjoyed an evening movie over lemonade and popcorn at poolside. The closed captioning was a real plus too. All in all, while i cannot give the Intercontinental top scores, our experience was overall quite positive, and we truly enjoyed our stay.

This hotel was located within the loop near the river, shops, bars and restaurants. The hotel rooms are basic and small. We were fortunate to get an upgraded room with two queen beds and an amazing view out the window of the city. The window was large and clean. The beds were comfy with ample pillows. Four pillows were provided. The hotel set up is a bit awkward. Room is best for one person as lacks storage for large luggage. Plus there is not a defined bathroom. The shower is within the bedroom. Fortunately the shower was frosted but you walk right into the bedroom so you must be comfortable with those you stay with. Plus the room does really have a deck and chair to work. The desk is a fold down from the wall. The chair for the deck is located on the wall and not really suitable for long term working on sitting as does not have a back to it. The best thing above this hotel are the staff. The front desk staff are super friendly and accommodating and aim to please. The bartender was super friendly and attentive as well. Lastly parking is not available right at the hotel. You have to walk two blocks. Plus parking cost 59 dollars and that's the discounted rate. Also not really a suitable place to drop luggage off. If you pull up to the front door, you are blocking traffic. Base on price of 400 dollars the night we stayed, I would say it's not worth the stay. Maybe it's worth 200 or less for Chicago.

I want to say that I have had my eye on this hotel for a while now after looking for Hilton hotel locations with a peloton bike, which this one has. Other than that, I loved that the location of this hotel sits in the heart of Chicago, surrounding a plethora of activities which made it the perfect choice for hotel stay to celebrate. Okay, it was an experience going up to the lobby area to check in at this hotel, a blonde moment as I am known for if you follow my reviews. The lobby is located on the 4th floor, so be sure to choose "L" for the lobby because there is no 4th floor button listed in the elevator. Me and two other hotel guests had an adventure going up to the lobby area after trying to figure out where the 4th floor button was. My experience with the receptionist working behind the desk was nothing less than professional. Since my room was already booked through Hilton Honors, the only thing check-in consisted of was a verification of my information, a briefing on what is offered, and the receptionist giving me my room key. For your information, check-in starts at 4:00 PM and check-out ends at 12:00 PM! If you have the Hilton honors application, there is the opportunity to check in with the application, choosing your room, and receiving a digital key, which will allow you to go to your room contactless without seeing a receptionist upon your arrival. I have not used this method, but if you are interested in no contact whatsoever then you can use it with the Hilton Honors application. After locating and entering my room, I thought to myself this is fancy once I took notice of the design and interior color which appeared so elegant! There was a variation of vibrant colors in the room from its curtains to the headboard of the king-size bed, the carpet, and a gold chair that looked like something out of your grandmother's house. Out of all, I just could not take my eyes off the curtains which reminded me of cherry blossoms because of the colors. Inside the bathroom there were liquid products by Gilchrist & Soames Zero% attached to the wall. Throughout my travels, I have noticed that hotels have completely dealt away with the mini shampoo, bath soap, and conditioner products that made great travel hygiene additions. Along with those notable things inside of the room, it met my cleanliness standards. I had no issues whatsoever getting comfortable in the king-sized bed during my stay as my head was engulfed in between the comfortable pillows. While utilizing the shower, I really enjoyed the water pressure; its soothing pressure made me feel very cleansed during each usage. It was wonderful toggling with the spray patterns, with the addictive feel of the pressure hitting my face and body. Other things the room came with that I noticed were a comforter, an iron, ironing board, blow dryer, safe, comforter, a coffee maker (Hamilton Beach), a mini refrigerator, microwave, and USB and AC plugins attached to either the headboard of the bed, lamps, or the television cabinet, which added a nice touch to the room. And the Wi-Fi internet was easy to connect to and not once did I have any connectivity issues with it during my stay. Hampton Inn Majestic, as expected, had an exceptionally beautiful inner interior! As a fitness enthusiast, it was great having a fitness center onsite because it allowed me to keep up with my fitness routines during my stay. I must say that I was pleased to see several dumbbell weights, medicine balls, kettlebells, a decent selection of workout machines, and two peloton fitness bikes which charmed me out of my panties once I spotted them. And oh, honey did I enjoy it on my birthday with the lovely Hannah Frankson as my peloton instructor, who put my legs through torture during her low impact workout. Having the complimentary breakfast was a relief because I did not have to worry about finding a restaurant for breakfast in the morning. And I was highly satisfied with the quality of what was presented. It is served daily from 6:00 AM - 10:00 AM. For you all visiting the city of Chicago, there are plentiful sights, activities, and restaurants within a radius of Hampton Inn Majestic. As a resident, a few that I adore are Willis Tower, Millennium Park, and the Art Institute of Chicago! Next door is the CIBC Theatre, which I noticed upon my initial arrival at the hotel. And if you are looking to explore the city or outer part of the city, the Chicago Union Station, and CTA Train Station are very accessible to-and-from. I would surely book Hampton Inn Majestic Chicago Theatre District again due to my experience with it because the hotel met my comfort needs, and I loved that its location is within an accessible distance of things of interest in downtown Chicago. ~ Live every moment ~ Thomas G

The gym is a bit small, but offers the basics. Loved that it was located close to many shops, restaurants, and tourist destinations (Very walkable!). The only con is the parking situation. Though available, it is an added cost. We brought a vehicle with us, so we had to pay for the valet parking.

The rest of the staff however seemed to be annoyed anytime anything was asked of them, from the front desk to bartenders The woman at the front desk and she was rude and dismissive. I got there early so I knew the room wouldn't be ready but asked just in case. She said no rooms were available without checking. Ok, asked if I could leave my bags and she looked like she didn't want to deal with it. Came back again hours later and she still had the same attitude. During afternoon & evening hours you need to order food from the bartenders and they're also not very happy to take the time to do this. Both times different people were annoyed and even forgot to add something to my order. It got to the point where I purposely minimized any interactions with staff. I now see other reviews have similar experiences so not sure if it's this specific location or why the staff was so upset being at work.

Shout-out to Nia at the front desk, who was the first person I encountered when I walked in. Her energy was exactly what you want as a guest--warm, welcoming, and professional. I've spent most of my career in hospitality, so I naturally pay attention to the level of service being provided, and she absolutely set the tone for a great stay. Kudos to her and to the team that hired her. My room was beautiful. Nia also let me know I had been upgraded due to my Marriott loyalty, which was very much appreciated. I stayed in a king room, and the moment I walked in, I honestly considered extending my stay another night. The space had a sleek, modern look, everything was clean, and the lighting gave it a stylish city vibe. I ordered room service shortly after arriving and got a burger with fries (which I believe were Parmesan fries ). Everything was very good, and the room service attendant Lorena was just as kind and pleasant. Even though I was only there for one night, the experience was great from start to finish. The bed was comfortable, the linens were fresh, and the location is incredibly convenient--close to everything, which I always appreciate when traveling. I will definitely look to stay here again the next time I'm in Chicago and hope to have the same wonderful experience.

Clean lines, moody lighting, and that subtle blend of science-meets-art that somehow feels both curated and effortless. The art isn't decorative filler; it's intentional. The whole property has that boutique confidence: not loud, not trendy-for-the-sake-of-trendy...just precise. The aesthetic walks a tightrope between laboratory chic and soulful design, and it doesn't fall. The restaurant deserves its own paragraph. The olive cake alone should have a publicist. The food is thoughtful, layered, and memorable without being pretentious. It feels like someone actually tasted everything before approving the menu; which, these days, is not a given. Location? Ideal. Walkable, central, easy. The gym? Surprisingly solid. Not the sad afterthought treadmill situation. An actual usable space. But here's the thing. Beautiful rooms fade. Art becomes background. Even olive cake, tragically, gets finished. What stays is service. And Nia. Nia is the reason my long stay didn't feel like a stay. It felt like being known. Her smile isn't transactional. Her care isn't performative. The attention to detail is quiet and precise. She remembered my name everyday and I was there for a while. Makes you think, "Oh, someone is actually paying attention." There's a difference between service and hospitality. Nia understands the difference. That's what brings you back.

If you're able to splurge for club access at $200/person, you'll get to experience stunning city views, breakfast, afternoon tea, snacks, unlimited cocktails, and evening bites. We were also sent a bottle of wine and snacks to our room. I loved that they have a free spa area where you can use the sauna, heated stone loungers, and cold showers. The pool was stunning and we enjoyed swimming, just wish the hot tub was hotter as it was lukewarm. The room was great as well with a Nespresso machine and relaxing tub. Every time we stepped out of the room we would come back to a nice surprise, the room would be cleaned or they would leave the water and ice. Very attentive customer service here. Both have incredible views but I would definitely recommend having at least one meal on the Miru patio if you are there during nice weather. -I was most surprised by their massive gym and has stunning views. It's also open 24 hours. They offered Pilates classes as well for an extra fee. -the hotel is brand new and all the finishes are so high end. The rooms are clean and quiet. The hallways are huge and felt like a maze to navigate but it also added to feeling of privacy. -there were so many high end details that made it extra special (the cozy Frette bath robes, welcome drinks, treat box in the room upon arrival, and the accent lighting in the room). -the location. It's just across the river from the heart of Michigan ave on the north end of a residential development. You don't feel like you are in the middle of the chaos of the city but the park, lake front and river are footsteps away. Negatives: -view was underwhelming ( fourth floor river view . The full length mirror is a down a long hallway from bathroom/ where you would be getting dressed. -the room service comes on these huge heavy trays. The staff seemed like they were straining under the weight of it/ it was awkward. -I'd probably skip the spa/massage -$90/ day parking. Was able to do a spothero for about $40 next door.
