Received a Groupon to this place as a gift for a 1hr couples massage with wine and chocolates. Interesting ambiance, we were first led to a small living room-like area in the back where a movie was playing and chocolate candies were available. We were offered a glass of white wine which wasn't bad and shortly thereafter Natasha greeted us and brought us upstairs where there were two large rooms each with sofas and two massage cots. Looks like it was once a large home that got converted. Too bad wifey didn't enjoy her massage as much as I did. I've had many massages over the years and this definitely lands in my top 5. I got Natasha who from the very beginning got the pressure and technique perfect. I called a few weeks later inquiring about the midweek special of $40/hr and sadly but not surprisingly it turns out she is not one of the massouses who participates in that. Her minimum is $60/hr. My wife had a different experience unfortunately. His name was Mike I wanna say? I just remember he was lanky and had a beard. Per my wife it was his flat affect that bothered her the most. Even when tipping him at the front desk in front of who seemed to be the manager, he received the tip sans smile or thank you. OH MY GAWD! This is the most AMAZING massage I've ever had! My boyfriend booked a couple's massage for my birthday (good job boyfriend!). Ambiance: We were greeted with yummy champagne and chocolates and were asked to fill out a questionnaire to identify certain areas of focus. This place is tiny - literally a small room with two beds - but it was really cozy and we didn't feel cramped at all. Great ambiance and the music was so relaxing. Massage: I had Kevin. My massage was MAGICAL - oh my goodness it was so good I didn't want it to end! His hands were so soft and he applied just the right amount of pressure throughout the massage. I like that he didn't use any oily products either. My boyfriend had Natasha. His massage was interrupted a few times because she kept texting on her phone (maybe discussing with other clients?) but, overall, he agreed it was a pretty good massage. Very unprofessional staff who were messing around with each other behind curtains instead of starting the massage, which the customers waited 45 min after their appointment time to finally start. When we emailed the place regarding their experience they texted us late at night but told me "the situation was not as it seemed" The person texting us claimed to be the owner but did not handle the situation professionally. My husband and I came here for a couples massage for our anniversary. The staff- the staff was very nice and inviting. The owner was there and he was very sweet! Always made sure we were doing ok and asked if we needed anything. Our therapists were great too, very accommodating and making sure that what we were getting was ok for us. The massage- AMAZING. Hands down. 90 minutes of pure bliss. I had the male therapist (I think his name was Paul; I'm so bad with names), he worked out my knots for sure. The spa- the spa was ok! Could use some updating but it didn't really bother me. The couples room was like an old 80's room because of all the lights going off like you were at a dance. I would recommend changing that out and just having a dimmed light. The package-we had a 90 minute massage (amazing), hot stones (soooo amazing) and chocolate and champagne. The chocolate was dull just like everyone said but hey, it's not specified within the deal so they can do whatever they please. One thing that did drive me a little crazy was when we were getting out massage done, the tv went out (the tv played the music) and the therapists took turns trying to figure out what was going on. I would suggest no tv, the light from it was annoying, use a good ole' iPod with better relaxing music. I would have preferred aromatherapy been used on me, it's a lot more calming and relaxing. FYI this is formerly Bella Salon/Spa. Purchased a groupon for a couples massage. We arrived at 1:40 pm for a 2:00 pm appt. We filled out paperwork and were escorted to the back. We waited for about 10 mins while various employees and guest kept walking in front of the video playing (so much for relaxing). We were then greeted by Mike and Nancy (I had requested two female masseuses). They escorted us upstairs where there was a large room with a sitting area and two massage cots. We were left in the room to prep and waiting almost 20 mins before massages were started. My husband raved about Nancy. Mike never asked questions about my trigger areas but he knew exactly what to do. When the massages were done, I noticed the time indicated 3:00 pm when we got started at almost 2:20 pm. That was not definitely an hour massage. FYI the location is right next to the train tracks so be prepared for the shaking and rattling. read more

The best word to describe it is building seems old. The relaxation area was a dingy sofa in front of a tv. The only restroom was small and cramped and I think the same for males and females. The massage room was dingy. The masseuse were wearing outfits that reminded me of being at Walmart. They talked too much. The pressure was waaaaaay too late. I left with my knots intact. The chocolate was cheap. The mannerisms of the front desk people did not conceal the fact that they had no class. I can't understand how this dingy "spa" has any good reviews. 1st time, deeply disappointing, I had a 30 facial that was more like 15-20 min she walked away left me just laying there for 5+ minutes each time. I started getting really antsy and just wanted to get to my 1hr massage, she asked what parts I wanted her to focus on I said my back since I have back problems. She took 20 minutes on each leg went back to my leg then my arms cause she was talking the entire time and I think she noticed that she had not done anything to my back so I got the last 20 minutes, if that, on the part I asked her to focus on. The place is odd, from the locked door to the flashing red and green Christmas lights on the ceiling. Bought a 2 hr couples massage and all in all it was more like 80min. a whole lot of waiting going on!! The decor is cheap, all the way down to the deflated heart shaped milar balloons in the corner. The massage was lots of long strokes, no technique. The room was upstairs, no ventilation and hot as heck. I would give a 1 star bit the ladies were polite. Save your $$ and go to one of those Asian places for $40 , you get about the same, and might even get lucky and get a great massage. read more

Client for many years. Experience has been mixed. When not so great there's always been a reason/ excuse. It seems I'm too patient or a slow learner. Today, the room was cold and the massage table would not heat. I raised this with therapist... and was told no other room available. Imagine trying to relax for massage when you're physically cold/frozen. It was warmer outside. When asked, by the owner, about the service, was met with excuses....we'll do better next time and throwing therapist under the bus. My appointment was 2pm, and I'm still worked up about this experience. Guess that will keep me warm. There won't be a next time. I'll quit being lazy and find another place. read more

Omg you have to come here! My husband and I have gotten massages everywhere.. this place was more of an experience. Better then glen ivy, massage envy and all the small Asian places we've been to. We got a 90 minute massage with hot stones and a bottle of champagne and chocolates. They allowed us to hang out in a lounge type room with our champagne before the spa. We asked for a little more time and they were kind enough to give us 10-15 more minutes to talk and unwind. The drinks were perfect to let us loosen up. We had massages with Elena and Ana. This review is for Natasha. My boyfriend really enjoyed his massage from Kevin. 1. She walked in and said "ready?" That was it. No introduction, didn't ask any questions. 2. She stopped twice, the first time she left the room during the middle of my massage. 3. She cut the massage about 15 mins short. 30 mins into it, she seemed like she was over it. She had already done my whole body, and she was just going back and forth from my upper body to my legs, focusing on my right side (I don't know why). 4. She exposed my butt! Took the sheet off completely, one side at a time. Mind you, Kevin was massaging my boyfriend right next to us. So that was completely uncomfortable! Never has a masseuse uncovered me and rubbed my inner thighs like she did. 5. She sat on the massage table a couple times while she massaged my legs and feet. She's good at what she does, but she can definitely work on her customer service, being consistent & asking her clients what's comfortable and what's not. read more

As much as I hate doing this I hope someone reads this and saves themselves from experiencing anything like I had to experience. Today I experienced a woman's WORST nightmare when dealing with a male "massage therapist". I started by filling out the quick consent form to explain where my aches and pains were. After that I was led into a very nice room. I wasn't offered any packages or pricing. He didn't ask me what kind of massage I wanted, or how long. He just told me to undress and he'll be back. He later came into the room WITHOUT KNOCKING and proceeded to take the blanket off of my back. He started kneading around my back which felt rather odd, considering I've had countless of massages previously and know what to expect. As he continued he neglected draping me to cover my exposed areas. I WAS COMPLETELY EXPOSED as he lifted my legs to stretch me. When he told me to turn around and face forward he stares at me the entire time. Again very loose draping and I felt my breasts were exposed. This is where it gets bad. If it wasn't already... He takes the blanket off of my chest leaving the this white sheet covering my breasts and starts rubbing my sternum MOVING UPWARDS FEELING ON MY LOWER BREAST!! I had to stop him and honestly was in complete shock and I felt so unsafe and I didn't know what else to do but stop him! His response... "okkk... but you're really tight there." I paid and even tipped him Bc I just wanted to appear as normal as possible just to get the hell out of there! The massage was by far the worst experience and I will never return to this place. I feel as I was sexually harassed here and I am almost certain that was not a licensed therapist. This place should be shut down! I almost waited to speak to an owner but reading their responses to other negative comments I can tell they have no compassion or take any responsibility for their poor services. I called back and I think the "therapist" name was Mike. He looked middle age, with dyed blonde highlights... I am still deciding how to move forward with this. For now, I want to warn the public that this place is not only unprofessional but dangerous. I felt violated and taken advantage of. Please if you're reading this take extra caution and from now on I'll be asking to see a license prior to receiving a massage from anyone. I recommend the same to you. read more

My boyfriend and I came to Intermission Spa this past weekend. I was looking on Groupon on Saturday and decided to buy the voucher, I was even happier when they had open appointments the following day. (Sunday). This was my boyfriend's first massage and our first massage together. When we walked up to the location we were warmly greeted by Kevin. He went over the massage with us and asked us where we felt pain, what parts to avoid, etc. Kevin was so kind and made my boyfriend and I feel very comfortable. While we were outside we saw a woman walk in and out but she did not greet us. (Natasha) Once we were inside Kevin went over it with us one more time before he left the room for us to undress. Once we were laying down they gave us a few minutes to finally relax our bodies and get comfortable. Then Natasha and Kevin came in. Natasha then greeted my boyfriend. Kevin gave me an amazing massage. He was very gentle when needed and put just the right amount of pressure. My boyfriend said the same about Natasha. He had a pinched nerve in his neck and he said she relieved him of that pain. We had a two hour massage that I wish never ended. Once we were finished Natasha left the room. Kevin then grabbed us some water and left as well. We got dressed and talked about how amazing our massages were. When we were finished we paid for our massage via phone for our Groupon voucher. Natasha told us that Groupon takes half of the money we paid and encouraged us to book directly through them if we were to come back. I understand that as well, if we do go back again (Which we both want to) we will call them directly. Before we left my boyfriend handed Natasha the tip for both of us. As recent Yelpers have noted, this spa offers its services in Upland at La Bella Spa - not in the Rancho Cucamonga location. Upon making my booking with Kevin over the phone, he did not notify me of this location change (I called the number listed here for the Rancho location) and noticed the new address when my confirmation was emailed to me. Upon reading reviews from both Intermission and La Bella, I became very concerned. I responded to the email and expressed my reluctancy and I was called back a few hours later explaining the distinct separation of Intermission and La Bella spas. I was offered a refund since I felt mislead but because I really appreciated the effort to acknowledge my concern and felt more comfortable to continue with our appointment. On to my review of the actual experience: Location 2/5 stars- sketchy little parking lot but the place is massive. Intermission only uses a room up front that has the two beds, nice decor, waiting area to fill out your paperwork and drink your champagne. There isn't much privacy in the room as it has french doors with a thin black curtain. I could see everything outside so I tried to change in a corner. During the massage, my husband's masseuse had to step out because someone upstairs kept banging doors and you could hear their footsteps so clearly. Ambiance 4/5 stars - the room is nicely dimmed and felt clean. The music was not spa or nature sounds ... more like soft techno dance music. It was definitely not the calming sounds you're used to in a spa. The beds had this hygienic sheet (think of the material used for shoe covers in the operating room or used during a home renovation) that felt quite sterile (not terribly uncomfortable since there was a cotton flat sheet as well). Massage 4/5 stars - I had Ivonne (although she never told me her name, I saw it from my confirmation email). She was super sweet and very skilled but she was rough around the edges. As soon as the massage started, she went to WORK. Almost felt like I was at the chiropractor. She kept dropping things or would abruptly transition during the massage. Even still, I could tell she was very experienced and knew her stuff. She just needs a little help in refining those skills and focusing on a calming, relaxing experience rather than hammering out all the knots. I'd give this place a 3.5 star but opted for the 3 because of the lack of communication from Kevin during the booking. This Yelp page should even have a notice that they have temporarily moved locations. We live in Loma Linda so the new location added about 10 minutes to our drive. Overall, I felt it was a good deal considering we purchased at the Groupon price but I wouldn't return to pay full price. read more

I visited this location over the weekend for a facial and I have to say I met the most kind hearted, outgoing, and knowledgeable young lady. When I reached the location I was skeptical about the service because the building does not look so great from the outside but I took a risk and I went it. The front desk area is mediocre nothing fancy or anything but everything changed when I went to the back where they have the service rooms. I was taken to the waiting area which was very relaxing and full of yummy treats. I was asked if I wanted a beverage. I waited for a few minutes when a young lady came and introduced herself to me. Her name was Blanca and she was going to be performing the facial on me. She than took me to the room and explained the service and the steps she was going to be doing on me. She was very sweet with a positive personality. She explained every step and answered all my questions which made me feel very comfortable. I expressed to her my negative experience at another location years back and she was very understanding and concerned about it. I am so grateful that I found Blanca because she gave me a marvelous facial with an experience that is worth sharing. Her over all skills and expertise was phenomenal. Wife and I had a groupon for couples 2 hour massage for $200 that was originaly listed for $400+. We didnt think it was worth the money we paid. We were suggested to tip based on the original price which like $460 I believe. The spa sits at the foot of a railroad track and as we were walking up to the front door a employee was outside watching us and walked in before us and instead of greating us when we walked in, because no one was at the front desk, he walked away. So we waited for someone to eventually come around. A nice man with his belly hanging out of the bottom of his shirt greeted us and took us back. Walking into the spa passing the first door on the right my wife's massues (the employee who watched us outside) sat slouched in a massage room, on a couch like I would imagine a teenager would, who is upset, peering over his phone at us as we passed by the door. The door we went through to walk back into the "spa area" had "I voted" stickers pushed onto the outside of the door which was also chipped of paint in areas. We were led to a room where two ladies sat waiting for their massage. We were given chocolate (dove plastic wrapped) chocolates and champagne. This was as stated on the Groupon. I dont know what we thought we were going to get but we weren't expecting left over Halloween candy I guess haha. Although our massage was not bad my masseuse kept running into items in our couples room, might have been because the room was very small. During our massage there was some kind of struggle in a room around us. There were loud thuds and banging for like 5-10 minutes. When we were finished we didnt know if we could go back into the room we waited in or if we could us the closet sized sauna together. We saw a couple with robes, we weren't directed to any of the rules or what we could do or couldn't do. No one seemed happy or really greeted us when they saw us inside.
