Wife and I had a groupon for couples 2 hour massage for $200 that was originaly listed for $400+. We didnt think it was worth the money we paid. We were suggested to tip based on the original price which like $460 I believe. The spa sits at the foot of a railroad track and as we were walking up to the front door a employee was outside watching us and walked in before us and instead of greating us when we walked in, because no one was at the front desk, he walked away. So we waited for someone to eventually come around. A nice man with his belly hanging out of the bottom of his shirt greeted us and took us back. Walking into the spa passing the first door on the right my wife's massues (the employee who watched us outside) sat slouched in a massage room, on a couch like I would imagine a teenager would, who is upset, peering over his phone at us as we passed by the door. The door we went through to walk back into the "spa area" had "I voted" stickers pushed onto the outside of the door which was also chipped of paint in areas. We were led to a room where two ladies sat waiting for their massage. We were given chocolate (dove plastic wrapped) chocolates and champagne. This was as stated on the Groupon. I dont know what we thought we were going to get but we weren't expecting left over Halloween candy I guess haha. Although our massage was not bad my masseuse kept running into items in our couples room, might have been because the room was very small. During our massage there was some kind of struggle in a room around us. There were loud thuds and banging for like 5-10 minutes. When we were finished we didnt know if we could go back into the room we waited in or if we could us the closet sized sauna together. We saw a couple with robes, we weren't directed to any of the rules or what we could do or couldn't do. No one seemed happy or really greeted us when they saw us inside. It was obvious this spa wasnt representing a brand name by any means. Although we enjoyed our massage we didnt enjoy the experience and will not being going back. read more

Okay so my husband got a couples massage for us through Groupon, to enjoy for my birthday. It was supposed to come with chocolates and champagne and sounded like a perfect start to a relaxing weekend. We had a hard time finding the place but eventually located it right at our massage time. Noone told us to get there early so we figured it was fine. Outside was a round table and a bench with balloons and some stale mini cupcakes, half eaten hard chocolates and cheap Ande's Champagne which was open and sitting in a bucket of melted ice water. My husband and I just looked at eachother perplexed... was this someone else's and they hadn't set up ours yet? Then we saw a note on the door to have a seat and partake in the goodies while we wait. I sat down and picked up a cupcake but it was hard. My husband whispered how cheesy it was and just then Kevin came to the door. He asked if we had champagne and we said no... so he poured us some in a plastic cups. Some tinfoil fell in my husbands. We followed Kevin inside and there were the massage tables. The place is a single room with vaulted ceilings and painted a relaxing seafoam green color. The scent of lavender filled the air. Next to the massage tables was a couch covered in a blanket. We sat and filled out some paperwork while Kevin disapeared behind a curtain into the rest of the business or home (Im not really sure what it was). Then we were asked who we wanted to massage us. My husband got Natasha and I got Kevin. Then Kevin left again so my husband and I could disrobe right there in the front room. Awkward. So we got naked and covered ourselves on the tables and waited. I had downed my cheap champagne and wished I had a little more. The music was much too loud in that small room but I decided to just relax and try to zone out during my massage. It was decent, Kevin did a thorough job although I must say it was too rough. I wish he had asked me my preference on touch. I never relaxed enough to fall asleep or even stop thinking about how hard he was pushing and it got to the point where I just wanted it to be over. Once it was done, my husband handed Kevin and Natasha each a $20 bill. On the wall is a sign that states something about how you tip your bartender, and your waitress and how you should tip your masseuse. A tasteless request for gratuity, it also mentions how you should tip on the actual cost and not the sale price. Well this Groupon couples massage was $80 for an hour, marked down from $250 or something like that. Im not real sure why it's $250 when a single person massage is $60 for an hour... but I guess they charge more when they get to both make money at the same time. Stupid. Anyway when he handed the $20 to Kevin, he looked down and then kind of gave a look like he wasnt impressed. I dont know, maybe thats what I thought I saw, but I did get that impression. Then Natasha told my husband if he wanted the same deal that he could book with her directly in the future. We had forgotten our Groupon confirmation and almost had to pay again but luckily my husband found it on his phone so it could be scanned. As we left, we were both really sore. Both of us said it was too deep of a massage and it felt like we were bruised for a couple days afterward. It's our own fault for not asking them to ease up... but we're not assertive like that apparently. LOL. I suggest you just tell them, Im sure it would be much better if we had. I just got back from my massage and I'm rather disappointed. I purchased an Amazon Local coupon that entitled me to a 60 minute Swedish massage ($80) and peppermint scalp massage ($10). I thought it was a good deal, but after my experience I feel like it was a waste of my money. In actuality, I ended up with a 45 minute massage alone ($60). Upon my arrival I was surprised that I wasn't greeted in a more friendly or inviting manner. The masseuse never introduced herself or welcomed me. It started the whole thing off on an uncomfortable and awkward note. The massage itself started off well, but was ended early when the next client arrived. My massage started at 10:08am and yet I was walking out the door at 10:58. I did NOT receive my full 60 minute massage; more like a 45 minute massage. I didn't like that I was quickly shuffled out the door to make room for the new client. I was also perplexed because I was wondering about the timing and my "add on" peppermint scalp massage. When I asked about the peppermint scalp massage, I was told that my head had been massaged, just without the peppermint oil. Basically the $10 peppermint scalp massage add-on does NOT add time to your massage, just a different oil when that part of your body is massaged. Well, I got a quick massage around my neck and head and no peppermint oil, so I did not even get the peppermint scalp massage add on as described in the Amazon Local coupon. When I left I wasn't thanked for my business. Instead, I was instructed not to buy from Amazon Local deals because their business (Intermission Day Spa) doesn't really make any money off of it. Overall, I was extremely disappointed with the whole experience and would NOT recommend this "spa" to anyone. I'm actually more upset than relaxed. What a waste of my time and money. read more

We came here because we saw the deals on groupon. The deal that the spa had was actually better so we booked that one. We got the 2 hour couples massage with champagne and chocolates. We arrived 10 minutes prior to our appointment and were given champagne. There were some little dove chocolates and fruit in the room that they said we could serve ourselves to. The champagne was delicious. The massages weren't great. They didn't come to us until 20 minutes after our massages were supposed to start and they didn't add those 20 minutes to the end of our appointment. What should have been a 2 hour massage ended up being only an hour and 40 minutes. Why take away our massage time? We got there early. They were the late ones. The massages - we had a man and a woman (whose names we were not told). They lacked in pressure! We both had a few knots on our backs/shoulders, but neither of the masseuses really worked on relieving the pain. My masseur asked me how my back was and when I told her that I was still in pain, she just pushed on my back and shoulders really hard. She didn't rub out the knots and painful spots. We were both disappointed by the service. We were hoping they could really relieve the stress and knots since we booked 2 hour massages. We left very disappointed. My masseur told me to drink lots of water when she was finished giving me a lacking massage. When we got out of the room, we expected someone to offer us water, tea, or some kind of drink. We weren't given anything. The spa felt like a renovated house of some sort. The couples massage was upstairs and had windows that looked into the spa next door. We weren't given robes, so it felt awkward to get undressed with the possibility that people next door might be able to see us. I would not recommend this place to anyone I know. We were so disappointed. Three stars purely because the champagne was good and the deal seemed like a good one. read more

I feel like people who leave bad reviews have nothing better to do because my girlfriend and I just left and this place was GREAT! We had Michael and Yolanda and they did amazing. Great service from employees AND therapists. Good champagne, chocolates, and massages! Greeted and offered more champagne every time they came in.... overall, it was a really great experience and we knew that it was going to be really busy but we still got taken care of. My husband and I both enjoyed our couples massage with Kevin and Natasha. We bought a deal on GROUPON, but found out later if you call them directly they will give you an awesome deal over the phone, so you dont have to wait for discount apps...just call. Initially I had reservations reading some of the reviews, but so very glad I decided to see for myself. Location is a nice business complex, business on either side and across the street so I am not sure why others are thinking their location is odd. We were early but Kevin came out and had us fill out questionaires, what you like dont like etc. Immediately walking in the doors are the massage beds, a couch to the right. We were offered champagne and chocolates, which I accepted, lol. Natasha worked on my body for a full entire hour. She is MAGIC. I read complaints that she wasnt friendly or didnt speak much, who cares!!! LOL! I didnt ask, but Natasha and Kevin seem to be from another country, and quite frankly not making bs small-talk and getting right down to business is refreshing. Very thorough back legs feet neck shoulders...on and on...I LOVED her skills. Another reviewer complained she sat on the bed at one point...well yeah...hello. She uses her body weight to hold your leg at one point applying pressure glides therefore blocking your leg from flopping off sideways...she isnt taking a break people, lol!!! My husband got Kevin for deep tissue and said he was fantastic. For the amount of time we both recieved, reasonable cost, and skill level, my husband and I both rate them a 5 star business couple. We love that there are many things to do close by so we can get a great massage and then shop Victoria Gardens or eat ate Joe's Crab Shack :) NO this is NOT a full service nail hair wax etc salon, this is a nothing but SKILLED PRO Massage...I like it. My friend booked the couples massage for the two of us on Groupon. Both of us are female, and it was a fun girl time thing to do! We had trouble locating the spa, since it is in a business suite on the bottom level of an apartment complex. We went in the front reception area in the apartment complex, then to the side entrance which is a dermatologist's office, and then finally we called and were directed to the right place, which is hidden on the other side. We asked if many people have trouble finding it, and she said yes, nearly everyone. She explained that they have had some trouble with people taking their signs and something else that explained the difficulty. Due to the trouble finding the place, we arrived right at the time of our appointment, instead of early like we were planning. We also had to use the restroom at that point, so we were led around to the apartment complex pool restroom. I really wish they had their own restroom, but it didn't bug us too much, especially since it didn't take away from our massage time at all. If you are expecting a large fully-staffed spa, you will be (maybe unpleasantly?) surprised. The spa is a single room with 2 massage tables and a couch right off of the front door with no reception area. I was surprised at first, but I actually ended up liking the cozy and personal feel. It seems to be owned and operated by the two masseuses, and I like to support independent business owners. Both Natasha and Kevin were nice and engaged appropriately in casual conversation with us before we began the massages. We filled out intake forms, which allowed us to mark any areas where we feel pain or tension, and any areas that we would like to keep "off limits". Others have mentioned that the champagne and chocolates were "cheap" or "cheesy", but we liked it! My friend is pregnant, and she was immediately offered chilled sparkling cider instead. Kevin brought out a chilled bottle of peach moscato champagne for me, and left it on the table, allowing me to basically have as much as I wanted, even though I only had a glass. The chocolates were a tasty touch too, and we thought they were good! We thought it was a nice touch, especially because the overall price of the hour-long couples massage is reasonable, and the champagne and chocolates are simply a nice, fun touch! We were asked to disrobe and get on the tables while Natasha and Kevin exited the room behind a curtain in the back. My pregnant friend had a great prenatal massage from Natasha, and Kevin did my massage. I have only had a handful of professional massages, but I have to say, my massage was fantastic! I appreciated the firmer touch, even though he had soft skin on his hands. I loved the incorporated stretches, and he really worked out some tension and knots in my back. He was attentive to every little detail in his strokes, and they both seemed very knowledgable. We got our full time allotment, and didn't feel rushed at all. They were very professional and attentive. They do have a sign posted about tipping, but so did the last massage place we visited. The first thing it says is something like," tipping is appreciated, but never mandatory". I didn't mind the sign. They also mentioned to us not to purchase from groupon again if we book again in the future, and just to book with them directly. They have already emailed my friend deals for this month and we will definitely book again directly through them in the future, although I am happy we found the groupon deal or we would have never found them. Overall, it is not the typical spa experience. It is different. For some who might not be expecting it, it might seem sketchy at first, but in our experience, it wasn't at all. Worst experience I've ever had with a massage. I am leaving more stressed then when I came in. The male (older might be an owner with reddish hair) who worked on me wouldn't work on my knots, didn't use enough oils so he burned my skin and didn't massage anything I asked him to. Gave me an excuse that it's all he can do. Why fill out a form of what you want done if it's just a suggestion form and they refuse to do what you ask of them. For $160 it isn't worth this place. Expensive and very unpleasant. Also power kept going out and for at least 30 for the 90 mins it was spent him trying to fix an air conditioner or the loud unpleasant music. read more

Great! Loved it. Kinda small but they have everything!!! Plus it feels intimate and cozy. Everyone was extremely nice, accommodating and very professional. I can't wait to go back!!! They always have specials and packages and you can't beat their prices. I spent 5 hours there and really felt like I got away from the world for the day, which I desperately needed. I never felt rushed and I would have stayed longer if I could have. They have personal saunas, which were really nice and made me feel like I could close my eyes and really relax. The salon next door (part of the package I bought) was wonderful as well. They have a shower stocked with soaps and shampoos so you don't feel gross after your massage, sauna, etc... Plus the little desserts, chocolates, champagne, hot tea, etc... really topped it all off and made me feel extra pampered and added to the whole experience. For a place that doesn't break the bank but still provides an entire spa day, you can't beat this place!!! I was very disappointed in my couples massage. Just like another reviewer said, it was total bs. Champagne was cheap (no biggy) but what really bothered me was my massage therapist. She talked the whole time and had no idea what she was doing. I was so uncomfortable. She even touched my butt crack. She made my hand touch her inappropriately a few times. She wore flip flops and had long fake nails that kept scratching me. I got so fed up, I had to ask her to stop the hot stone therapy because she kept dropping them. You know what they say about those small hole-in-the-wall places. Well this one is it! Tiny location across from Active Sport in a small shopping center. You literally walk in to the massage room so it made me a little skeptical but the massage itself was phenomenal. I had Kevin and asked for a light pressure because I am a total wheenie when it comes to pain. Well he somehow used strong pressure without giving me any type of pain at all! He said it was because he warmed me up beforehand. That must have been it because I have felt great ever since. He really knew what he was doing. If I could give zero stars I would.... To start off they moved locations a week prior to us coming... Didn't bother to tell us or make it clear that they moved. Not sure why they wouldn't say anything to us when we made the appointment weeks earlier. Arrived at this address and called to see exactly where they were and after the phone ringing about 10 times someone finally answered then said they sent a text with the new address hours ago which was not true.. Good thing we left super early so we were still able to make it which was good but arrived annoyed since they also didn't mention that they were in a building that didn't even say their name on it.. We just assumed it was it then walked in and it was it.. Place was super small.. Not much of a waiting area.. Room massage was in was pretty bright so it didn't have the best ambiance but it wasn't a romantic massage anyway so whatever but the other weird thing was the table had like paper on it not really sheets so that was weird. Greeting was weird by the massage therapist.. Well we didn't know she was our therapist at the time.. She told us to fill out paper work and get changed.. One girl entered the room.. and just started working on one of us... The other entered and did the same.. Neither massage therapist introduced themselves which I thought was weird.. Neither also really went through the paperwork at all.. Pretty sure they didn't even look at the paper.. Massages were ok.. For one of us she didn't even work on the areas my mom requested even during the massage.. Wasn't the worst massage but it could have been better. At the end of the massage both ended pretty weird.. One said the massage was over but the other just stood over me looking at me and didn't say anything.. Awkward. So they tell us to change.. While we were changing they entered the room.. RUDE.. Wait till your people are done then talk to them outside.. One girl asked for the groupon then proceeded to talk about how they don't get their money right away from groupon and they would match the price if we saw the groupon and blah blah blah.. Then says that it's expired and we owed $20 each person... Gave them that because we assumed that it was true.. Then we tipped them really well and left. Pretty sure that we didn't owe crap for the massages she probably just thought we weren't going to tip them.. Our own fault for believing that so whatever but thats going to come back to then in a bad way one of these days. Next day we get an e mail with the packages and pricing they had to offer.. One of which was the groupon we had.. Which pissed me off even more.. So conclusion.. These people are a rip off and so freaking rude and unprofessional.. The facilities are nice but cluttered. Staff was friendly but they ran 15 mins late and I felt a bit uncomfortable too. Not sure why. The massage itself was what I based the majority of my review on.
