Update: The manager, Dina tested the battery in-store and showed that it was still working. She provided a new battery regardless which I appreciated. Went home and had my brother install the new battery and everything is working fine. I took my car to the mechanic to ensure that everything was alright again, and he believes the previous battery installation was not securely in place. I had paid $40 to have it installed at the store the first time around and once I saw that my brother was able to do it in 5 minutes, I realized I should have done it on my own to begin with. read more

Got 1,000% friendlier service and they're actually helpful. They won't snap if you ask them a simple question like repeating themselves because you didn't hear them the first time. DUMP INTERSTATE BATTERIES and go with AC Delco instead, if you want better customer service and a better / stronger battery. Unless you enjoy rude service, bullying, and hostile treatment for an overpriced battery and service. God forbid you ask any simple questions. This place forgets who the customer is. read more

Usually would purchase battery at Costco but my vehicle has battery under driver's seat instead of in the engine bay like most other vehicles. Knowing that Costco also sources Interstate batteries I decided to check this place out. First came on weekday to get a battery test and I met Mike. Mike was really friendly and knowledgeable on my vehicle, brought out his testing tool and he immediately told me that battery voltage was too low. I already knew that the battery needed to be replaced since cold starts have been sluggish. I decided to make an appointment with Mike and return a couple days later. I was told it would take about an hour and the cost would be much less than what the dealer was going to charge me! When I came in for appointment, Mike was not there yet, but Dina was there to greet me and asked to confirm what battery I needed for my vehicle. Mike then arrived and started working on my vehicle to remove the seat and battery. He then showed me the old original and the new one to be replaced. Mike finished up in 30 minutes, amazing! While Mike was working Dina was friendly in talking about the company and batteries they sell. I just took my car keys here this morning to have the fob batteries replaced. They were able to work on it immediately and got it done super quick! I'm really impressed with the service here. They were incredibly nice and tested everything out to make sure it was working as it should. I'm really glad that I brought my car fob batteries here to be fixed as it wasn't that easy. I called yesterday morning to get a quote for their services and was assisted by Mike. I already did some research online and knew what I was looking for but wanted to confirm the quotes for roadside battery swap vs in-store battery swap. It is $30 if you drive to them and $50 if they come to you. Mike suggested the more expensive battery with the higher cold crank but after explaining to me what those higher amps are for, I declined. Being a salesman, he gave me a small pitch but was not overly pushy like other people could be (especially if you are a female-presenting human in the auto industry). I like how he respected my choice and didn't waste my time with useless persuasions. My car's battery had died completely and wouldn't hold a charge. I had already tried jumping it myself but no dice. Mike had an earlier slot open up as we were on the phone and we confirmed a 1-2 pm timeframe. Sassan came around 1:30 pm. He not only swap out my battery with minimal issues, but he also understood my request to have a battery hooked up to my car so my radio wouldn't disconnect (if you know, you know). I appreciated that and it was all done quickly and efficiently. Sassan had a great customer service demeanor and I would recommend him to anyone who needed assistance. I drove the car 45 minutes to Interstate where they found the battery was not holding a charge due to it's age. I paid for a new one and left with a brand new battery installed less than 15 minutes later! This place definitely provided fast, efficient and friendly service. I did not compare prices of other places as I usually would do, and it may have cost a bit more here but Interstate made the process so quick and easy! I have purchased batteries from the Redwood City store in the past but a week or so ago I needed to replace the battery in my wife's car. I drove over to Interstate and was greeted by Mike V. He was knowledgeable and very professional. Mike is also very personable. He offered to install the battery while I waited and about 15 minutes later... new battery installed... I was ready to get back on the road. A good part of those 15 minutes was spent talking about sports, and a lot of that conversation centered on Mike's coaching youth basketball. You could tell he was proud of his team; you could tell those kids were lucky to have him as a coach. It is way cool to find a local merchant who is involved with the community in a meaningful way. I got a note from Interstate. Said I threatened to sue. No, I promised to let a lot of people know their poor warranty and high cost BEFORE they buy. This is my 3rd battery and ALL crapped out past a year. It only gets worse. Turns out I was indeed wrong. Their $365 batteries DO NOT come with a one year warranty as told to me by the store. They clarified that their WARRANTY IS ONLY 6 MONTHS !!!! And told me they are rare and discontinued anyway, So "too bad". My 2013 car battery gave up one morning. And I am not the 'jump start' guy, so had to call someone for installation. After calling couple of other local car services, Interstate customer representative agreed to help us out within an hour. Customer Service : Great Lady on phone was nice and patiently listened to me even when I was spelling out my long email address. Service : Great As they promised, Sasan showed up within an hour. He was nice guy and completed battery installation in about 15 minute or so. Pricing : Expensive For my 2013 sedan, battery was 145$, home installation charges were 80$, Tax 16$ for a grant total of 244$, so yeah it is pricey. Now I do not have any prior experience with car batteries (hence needed to pay that much!), but yeah if you can buy battery from Costco or know how to jump start your car, you can save some bucks. I also did not like that payment was done via call where Sasan (quite loudly) spelled out my credit card to lady in store. Would be nice if they can carry credit card swipe machine with them. These guys are so money! I have been here on two different occasions, for an emergency car battery replacement. The service is fantastic! They charge $30 bucks to install your new battery, which great, if you don't want to mess with returning your old battery later for disposal. This battery replacement was this past Monday. I had to get a jump and drove directly to Interstate. The guy who helped me, installed the battery, corrected the vent tubing and replaced the battery cover clips, which were missing. I called Mike and we set up a home battery Instal for my 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I had ankle surgery in March of 2916 and my 6 year old original battery was dead. Mike arrived on time as promised. It's not a simple install. At the end of the installation, the car was not showing any signs of power. Mike seemed to think that a Squirrel or rodent made a home in my engine as something ran out of the hood when opened.
