I really enjoy doing business with decent people! When I had to get a jump to start my car this morning, I decided to check out that battery shop I have passed by so many times on the Ave. These guys were great. Richard, Jose, Julio and Billy were all working today when I pulled in. They checked to see if my charging system was working with a volt meter and confirmed for me that in fact my charging system was good and that it was only a battery issue. They also showed me where the date was on my 5 year old battery. They offered me a soda and changed out my battery in under 10 mins. Everyone here was personable and friendly! Today, (9/8/21) around 3pm I picked up my Interstate AGM battery that had completely discharged. My home charger could not bring it back. I described the situation and they said bring it in. I was there in about an hour and less than an hour later I had a new battery, no charge and no paper work. He asked me what was going on, and told him my situation. i desperately needed a new battery and left a message at midnight as this was highly rec by automobile club of calif (AAA). julio called me promptly right when they opened and said bring car right in . julio greeted me asap on arrival and had me drive immed into the service bay where he explained my options which reinforced my research. (Have used this business before with no problems.)The man that answered was so rude ...we will never come back for our battery replacements. Work on costumer service skills while answering the phone or don't answer calls. Allow the costumer to feel welcomed not as if we are a burden of your time. Use a welcoming tone not as if you are annoyed by the costumer calling for a quote prior to having their vehicle towed over. Raining, son's car battery quit, and I arrive at Interstate Batteries on Ventura Avenue 2 minutes to lunchtime with the designated battery I needed so my son could get to work. Sorry Charlie! They said they HAD to go to lunch in 2 minutes so you'll have to come back. I couldn't believe it. So much for their website's listed culture and values. I will never, ever, the rest of my life, EVER, patronize a retail supplier that insists on taking lunch (instead of jogging their lunch period by however long it would take to ring up a battery in an emergency???) and put off the person in need who is only looking for their help. read more

This place hires extremely well. The other day I brought in a stack of 6v deep cycles in and had a super nice, super smart kid named Cody test them for me while giving a full on seminar about the different tests he was running. I've spent thousands of dollars on batteries here and won't buy anywhere else the staff and service is so good here (and the prices beat even Costco). Just don't try to show up right before closing time as the gates will be shut and workers presumably off a bit early. Which is maybe why they are always so friendly and nice. read more

I called Richard's store and left a VM and my situation. The store was closed for Christmas but I left a msg anyhow. A few minutes later I got a call from Richard and he said that he just happened to be at the shop and to bring the batteries in and he would replace them for me. I went directly to meet with him and he had the batteries ready for me. He had a dolly and put the batteries in the car took my old ones and would not accept any money!!!! This is the 2nd time I've come to them for help w battery issues and every time they have been right on top of it! I drove up and they immediately had me pull into the spot (keep in mind this was around 4:30pm and they had several cars in the lot) I asked for them to check my battery, which they did and he gave me a quote for either a used or new which ever was my preference. I chose the new and it came w a 2.5yr warranty for free replacement. I was in and out w/in 20min and the price was pretty good too.
