I'm telling you - these guys are ON POINT! I was told by a mechanic that I needed a new battery and after doing research, I came across these guys. I must tell you this first... I went by their other location in Downtown and it seemed like 'they were just doing their job'. They meant well and truly meant no harm. I just didn't notice as much proactivity and showing the type of service as this location did! I called up this location and Alfonso (the manager) picked up the phone HIMSELF! The other location said that they didn't carry my type of battery at all! That wasn't the case when I spoke with them originally on the phone... how annoying! When I spoke with Alfonso, he was beyond personable - no matter how busy they were over there. I immediately drove over and noticed how busy they were. STILL - he took the time to speak with me and regardless of how busy they were... he not only found the battery in-house... he gave me a price breakdown and... HE INSTALLED IT HIMSELF! Personable, professional, on-point and doing things right. Now THAT's what I call customer service. I wish there was a 500 stars out of 5. Please do yourself a favor and give this guy some props. A very special thank you to Naomi and manager Alfonso, for their professionalism, honesty, and the excellent assistance and price that I received when I went in to buy a car battery for my Prius at this particular O'Reilly's (next to Supercuts and the 101 onramp). I had researched all three big-chain auto part dealers in town (the obvious three) and O'Reilly's came out on top. One of the competitors was way too expensive (over $100 more) and needed a week to order the battery. That was not ideal. The other was about $50 more but the clerks appeared very uninformed. At this O'Reilly's, Naomi took great care of me. She was friendly and a straight shooter in the sense that she gave me an accurate price quote, which the store later that day stuck to. When I returned 2 hours later to purchase the battery, the very knowledgeable Alfonso not only installed it for me but told me that my old battery (I did a core exchange) had been installed wrong. He installed the new battery the correct way and also shared some interesting anecdotes about Prius repair in town. I can't thank them both enough for their professionalism, knowledge and cool factor. This was my first-ever trip to this store and it won't be my last. They have won my allegiance as a customer and I will continue to patronize this shop. A big thank you, Alfonso and Naomi! And while I waited for service, I overheard the other man helping people and he seemed cool as well. And I also picked up this Woody Woodpecker (Mr. Horsepower) keychain on an in-between visit today. I guess sometimes they have multiple options but during my visit they just had the one - the fancy one. That's fine as it's probably what I would have bought anyway. Staff was super nice and even offered to let me use an extension cord to recharge my laptop faster if I needed it. Clean store, pretty well stocked, and easy to find off the 101. Today February 1, 2022 I went to O'Reillys auto parts on Main Street in Ventura. The store manager helped me so very much. I had three different issues with my car and he fixed all three in the parking lot and the parts are only about seven dollars. It's been an hour helping me. His name is Fernando and he was so good and so kind. I am 74 years young. Right now me and my dog are homeless, but a friend let me borrow his car so we would have a place to stay. I was having trouble with tail lights and brake lights and turn signals and the last thing I need was to get a traffic ticket. I even offered to pay him for his labor. He said if I wanted to pay him would I let him take a picture of my dog on his phone. ! I will never go to another auto parts store. They were very busy so there wasn't anybody to help install it, which I really needed. He offered to call a local place and did so. When that place was closed he pulled his only other employee to help me, Jorge, because he could see how much help I needed. This store is located on main street, next to the fire station and across from the target shopping center. While I was getting an oil change, the mechanic told me I needed a new air filter and was directed to ORAP. Thankfully, the store opened at 7:30 am and I was one of the few in the store. Since I know nothing about auto parts, I went directly to the register to tell the employee what I needed. There were two employees that I noticed, one in the back and one in front who ended up helping me. The guy helping me told me they had about three different types of air filters in stock and told me the differences of each. The store itself definitely had a feel and look of a mechanic shop in the middle of LA. He came out checked out the car and reminded me to check the registration (duh) and we had all the info we needed to get the replacements. As he got those going I took a look around and saw many ideas for some stocking stuffers for my Husband for Christmas. Chuey was great in accommodating my needs as well. If no one reads this review just know that Raul at this location is FANTASTIC. I came here after realizing the dodge service center was closed on Sunday. Seriously, thank god for Raul who helped me out so much, and was so kind and patient with all of my questions. My check engine light was on and my car was sputtering, he checked the battery and concluded that it needed a charge. After pulling it out and putting it in a different machine we found out it was actually dead. At this point I called my job to tell them I was going to be late, not sure how long this would take to remedy. Raul found a battery in my price range and installed it quickly, I even ended up being on time to work. My car is running great now and that check engine light is off. Lies, lies, lies. Long-story short. Place a part order to be delivered within two days. Two day pass no luck, no call, no info. I called the parts people and they have no idea. Day three, nothing, day four speak with the manager and still nothing, they can't figure it out. Day five cancelled the order. The things that really pisses me off is that they said each time they would find out and call me back. Never got one call and they never had any info when I called. Wow! Greg is fantastic. I was nervous going in thinking I needed not only a new car battery, but also windshield wipers and replacement batteries for my key fob. I can't even tell you all how relieved I am now that Greg has tested my battery which is still good! He saved me $160. He told me that he would clean the corrosion from the battery, remove and install my new wipers, AND replace the batteries in my key fob for me! Y'all, I didn't have to lift a finger. Complete waste of my time. On top of that the store in Oxnard 1941 N Oxnard Blvd. Ruined my rotor. The shocks I purchased the day before were missing parts in the sealed envelope. CESAR and STACIE are completely incompetent! Multi tasking and wasting my time behind the counter. The rotor they destroyed will be replaced in about three days. Now I have to wait on there schedule. This place is a disaster. I'm new to the area, and the Oreillys back home were always where i bought my parts, accessories,etc. The stores were always clean & the associates, clean and helpful. I took 5 steps into this store and turned around and walked out. Its obvious the store is in need of remodeling/repair, the floor was filthy, front register(by the door) was cluttered & had a torn old handwritten sign saying 'register broken'. The shopping center its located in was bad enough, all of the stores there looked run down & old. There was only one associate at the counter helping, and there were 6 people waiting to be helped. My fuel pump went out on my '05 Corolla and I needed a replacement Strainer and Pump. I called several auto part stores and found the best price at Kragen O'Reillys on 4255 E Main St, Ventura. On Wednesday, I called Kragen and spoke to a gentleman by the name of Matt, who although could say "please hold while I check" once in a while, was still helpful to me. He told me the part was not in stock but he could order it. I needed the part by Friday and I was told to call back Friday morning at 7:30 am and he could have the part in at noon. I did just as he asked of me and prepaid for my part over the phone. I received a call from Matt at 11 am advising me my part was in. It's good to have a choice of more than 1 parts store for a change. The front desk worker and the manager were both very helpful. They went out of their way to make sure I got the correct bulb for my parking lights, and the correct wiper blade. Kind of my own fault...but could have been handled better by O'reilly's. Bought 2 wiper blades at the Oxnard location during a rare rainstorm, and a rare occasion that found me in Oxnard. Walked out of the store and the receipt was promptly ripped from my hands by the 40mph wind gusts, and was gone from sight instantly. Oh well. Went home to install them in my garage, and out of the rain. Wrong style. I was able to use one as a refill by taking it apart, but no luck with the other. Went to O'reilly's in Ventura the next day to exchange it. No Joy. They had the same one in stock, and the correct one, and as I explained, I STILL NEED it, so I don't want my money back, just an exchange for the correct one. Would not do it. I bought the correct one while I was there, but I still have the other one hanging in my garage to remind me to NEVER go to O'reilly again, AutoZone is about the same distance, and has never burned me, so they'll get my business now. read more
