This was my first time at this SMG location and it was just average. I went to see the New Captain America on a Tuesday night and tickets were only $6- which is a steal with prices being so high nowadays. I did, however, spend $30 on food and drinks. To drink I got the Pain Chiller and it was delicious- highly recommend. To eat, I went with the buffalo chicken tenders. On the menu, it specifically said that items marked 'entree only' do not come with a side. This item did not have that so I asked my server about it and even read the menu back to her and she told me that it doesn't matter, all sides are $3. Really annoying, especially when the menu says something different. Overall, the food and the menu were fine. The seats infront of me were very dirty and mine was actually broken. The foot part of the recliner was missing the middle section which made putting my legs up an uneven experience.

No one in theater so enjoyed our movie. Wish I could say the same for the food. Craving the Taco Salad but was told no longer offered. So decided to try something new we shared the avocado flatbread and buffalo chips. Both items are cold food items. Avocado pizza was mashed avocado on top of a thick cold premade flatbread (yuck) would have been better if flatbread was cooked so some crispy. Instead a thick cold bread with some arugula smashed avocado and a light drizzle of vinegar and cherry tomatoes, we added chicken for some protein it also was tasteless flavorless chicken cubes. Not one good bite. Buffalo chicken on the potato chips with a blue cheese drizzle and bacon crumbs. Once again chicken cold chips cold and everything was just mushy. Chicken flavor had a nice bite but mushy and very dry. Disappointing since with added 18% at the beginning of order no one comes back to see if they can help if any problems.

I have to admit that I was a little apprehensive about going back the a theater due to the pandemic. I was fully vaccinated back in January but still take a lot of precautions. Thankfully, there were only about 10 other people in the theater! The chairs are comfy and recline. I ordered fried shrimp, fries and an iced tea. With tip, $22 Goodness, they make the money!! It was good, just not $22 good. The movie was good- The Conjuring The Devil Made Me Do It. I'm always up for a horror flick!

They work really hard at screwing up. Seriously you can't be that lucky. It takes skill, training, searching high and low sifting through resumes hundreds or even thousands of them to find people who care as little about quality and service as the fine folks at this SMG location. The owners can't be that dense or else they just don't care. How have they not fired the lot of them and started over??? I find that suspect as I know some of the leadership and they are incredible, but this location is so far below sub-par that it baffles me and really makes me question the commitment of leadership. As with many many many of our prior trips to SMG, the food was atrocious. My daughter ordered a bun-less bacon cheeseburger with a side of mayonnaise and a side of honey mustard as she is gluten free I ordered coconut chicken tenders. Both were a joke... When we ordered they alerted us that they weren't doing refills on drinks and asked if that was okay. I asked if I had a choice and he was confused. It's not really okay given the price, but we don't get a vote so we move on. Also, before our food or drinks ever arrived, he came back and informed us it was last call and wanted to know if we wanted to order anything else... It had been over 30 min since we initially ordered and in my mind I was like, how about my food? I just said no thanks. Her burger arrived with my "chicken tenders" after a 20+ min wait and had the bun. She told them when it arrived and the waiter said he would get it fixed. I assumed they would just take it off and give it right back, no harm no foul, but you know what momma says about assuming... 20 MIN later they returned, after I had completely finished eating my meal, and when it arrived, wait for it..., it STILL had the bun. However the waiter caught it a foot before it got to us and sent it back. It was so close. Another 20 minutes and it arrived... no cheese, no mayonnaise or honey mustard and so incredibly well done and burnt that it could have been used in the NHL. My tenders were anemic. They didn't look like any I've had there in the past, as I typically order the coconut tenders, as they were literally the size of the fish sticks we got as kids from the frozen food isle. It was a joke, but they weren't kidding. I kid you not, the fries were bigger. I told the waiter I was less than impressed and he said he would tell the manager to drop by. An hour later, the manager never arrived. All in all. I paid $12 for crappy hockey puck of a bacon cheeseburger that took an hour to arrive and was missing the cheese, $14 for a few tenders the size of fish sticks, $2 for two 12 oz cups of tap water and $0.50 for honey mustard we never got, plus tax and tip. The manager never cared to stop by and we had already complained enough that we threw up our hands in defeat and just paid the full price, tax, tip and left. NEVER AGAIN. That place sucks and isn't worth my time or money. I would rather drive further or just stay home than endure this location. It breaks my heart as I really want to like and support them, but as they say, you can't want it more than they do...

I did not like this location. I came Saturday afternoon and the place was packed. I had to park way in the back. There were a ton of kids running around and there was a line for the restroom. The theater itself had a nice screen but the seats were uncomfortable. I understand the importance of people being able to eat but I want to enjoy my experience of watching the movie.

We didn't want to make a big deal of it so we shifted over to the next few seats, but then a group arrived and let us know that those were their assigned seats. So we got up and moved to the top row, where all of the seats were broken. Recliner didn't work nor did the button to notify the staff. Throughout the movie there was a loud disturbing banging behind us. Also the service was extremely slow. It took an hour to receive my food and when I did, this was the presentation and the food was cold. The brisket was sparse and the tots barely had barbecue sauce. The bathrooms were filthy. Trash everywhere and the stalls had fluids on the wall. It was very uncomfortable. My friend and I went to speak to the manager, Miguel, who did not accept any accountability for the quality of the service and the overall experience. He repeatedly mentioned that we could've gotten up and gotten a staff member for our issues. Why should we as guests get up in the middle of the movie several times to tell the staff how to do their job? Piss poor service. I do not recommend this theater and won't be back.

We had ordered the tickets in advance and you pre-select your seats. We ordered popcorn before the show. The lady at the concession stand was very nice and she provided extra bowls so it was easy to share the popcorn. The popcorn was delicious! Sadly, a few of our reclining seats did not recline. We probably could have moved since there was an abundance of empty seats. There couldn't have been more than 10 other patrons at our showing. We decided to just stay in our pre-selected seats. The restrooms were deplorable! In all, we enjoyed the movie and our time together, but this theater is in desperate need of renovations.

I visited this location of Alamo Drafthouse last weekend for The Substance Movie Party (if you…read morehaven't been to an Alamo Drafthouse movie party, run don't walk...) and had a pretty good time. I left Texas about a decade ago, and - I'm not exaggerating here - people get annoyed by how often I say I miss Texas's movie theaters and grocery stores. The first Alamo Drafthouse was opened in downtown Austin in 1997, but it quickly made a name for itself (more on that below) and expanded around Austin before expanding to other other Texas cities and then outside Texas. It now has 40 locations! So why is Alamo Drafthouse so great? Even from the first location, the theater offered unique programming alongside traditional movie viewing: silent movies scored by local bands as accompaniment, movies served with special menus themed to the film, retrospectives, and more. Also from the beginning, they offered the ability to order food and drink inside the theater, something that not that many theaters were doing at the time. It remains a unique movie theater experience, even as it's been extremely influential nationwide. I can't remember when I saw my first movie at an Alamo Drafthouse (was it when I lived in Austin in 2007-2008 or 2014-2015?!), but after I went for the first time I was hooked. I've seen singalongs (Moulin Rouge), rowdy screenings (Magic Mike XXL), old movies paired with classic cocktails (it was an ongoing series at the Ritz location on Mondays, I think - it's been so long!), and more. I visited this location (how I wish it had been here when I was kid growing up in Lake Highlands) for the first time with my family last weekend. It has some of the great things that most Alamo Drafthouse locations have, but there were a couple of detractors that made me like it a bit less than other locations. First of all - god, it was hot. I was fanning myself with my Monstro Eliasue that was one of our souvenirs for the movie party. I know some people don't like to be cold, but this theater was entirely too warm (my brother who sees movies often at this theater said that's standard for this location). I also found the customer service to be less friendly at this location than others I've been to in the past (no hello when we walked in even though two employees in the entry looked right at us as we entered). Is it my favorite Alamo Drafthouse location? No. If I still lived in Dallas, would I be here on a regular basis? Yes. Alamo Drafthouse is a treasure. I hope it's always around.

Inside are two screens, both quite sizeable, with ample seating. From what I understand, this theater is not open year-round. It opens during summer blockbuster season, and when highly anticipated movies come about. I suppose that's why when we showed up, the guy thought we were there to see the new Mission Impossible movie. We were actually there to see The Muppets. When we got there, I was feeling a mixture of both excitement, and nerves. I looked around, and it looked like the Movie Theater That Time Forgot. The concession stand was dimly lit and looked like it hadn't been used in ages. There were movie posters rolled up in a corner, the marquees still used removable letters...it was OLD SCHOOL. The theater is owned/operated by an Indian man, who was the only person running everything. He was the concession stand clerk, box office clerk, and projectionist. Tickets are the cheapest anywhere for new flicks. $5 for adults, $3 for kids, all the time. The movie-watching experience was pretty nice...although about 2/3 of the way through the movie, the sound had some hiccups, which the man explained was due to the way he had everything set up. He apologized for that, and we didn't really mind, since he was so incredibly nice to us. He also REALLY loves and is proud of his surround sound, which he gave us a demo of (we watched a 20 minute segment from XXX, and the explosions, car crashes, ect. sounded really great), and he was really anxious to show it to us the entire night. I have to give him credit...he may not be running a sparkling, shiny new theater, but I liked his enthusiasm for what he did have to offer, and sometimes, that's all you really need. We will most definitely be back for an action flick to make use of his sound system.
