How difficult is it to make an appointment? Apparently, extremely difficult. I called them multiple times with no answer. After they finally called back, I scheduled an appointment, or at least I thought I did. They then called me again to confirm before sending a confirmation text without clarifying that my reference number was the same as my permit number, so I had to ask about it. After all this confirming, you'd think my appointment would be set, but no: I got a call on the wrong date saying that the inspector was coming in a couple of hours, so I texted iPermit to notify them of the error but received no reply. Thus, I had to find the inspector's number on the city website and call him myself. Why even bother with iPermit? Bottom line: What should have been a simple matter of making an appointment and a quick inspection turned into a fiasco of constant phone calls and texts, and added so much stress to an already very stressful time of year. read more

I was quite surprised when my experience was so dreadful when their overall reviews are good. The person who called to schedule the HERS test was very professional and informative. That's where it ended. I was given a 3 hour window for their arrival. I have tenants and they were going to be in and out so I waited at my home for the technician to call and say that they were on the way, so I could head over. I sat for hours waiting and when the window was almost over, the technician called and said he was stopping for lunch. I certainly don't want to deny someone food when they're hungry, but this caused him to finally show up :40 past the end of the window, which messed up the rest of my afternoon work obligations. He performed the test quickly and then said he was going to his truck to get my paperwork and would be back in :10. He was gone for almost :30. He asked my preference for dates for them to schedule the final inspection with the city. He said someone from their office would call to let me know the date and time range. That never happened. I called their office TWICE and after being on hold for :10 both times, it went to voicemail. I left voicemails with very specific info but no one ever called back. I had to troll around the city website and finally found my address listed with an appointment for the following day. Good thing I searched. Absolutely zero instructions or time specifics and while I realize this was a city thing, iPermit were the ones who should have provided me the specifics. Run, don't walk away from this company, if given a choice. read more

Terrible company, even more terrible management. I wouldn't do business with them if they were the last company on earth. And the way they treat their employers is deplorable. Favoritism, setting up unattainable metrics, and the way they treat their staff that needs to be there for their children while they are having crisis is very disrespectful. Trying to get ahold of someone at this company is a nightmare! I've called and left messages, I've emailed, and I've texted. My final inspection was supposedly scheduled, and when I called the city this morning for an estimated time of arrival, they said that Ipermit did not make an appointment for me. So now I'm trying to contact them to find out how to remedy this, and I can't get through to anyone. I called my HVAC company and told them that they should stop using Ipermit because they don't take care of their customers. What a pain! read more

Would not recommend using them. An hvac company I hired to install a furnace used them. As is customary I paid the hvac company for the permit with the city, and the hvac company used ipermit to file the permit. Evidently the hvac company subsequently went out of business and close to 2 years later I'm getting threatening letters from ipermit saying they will revoke/cancel the permit. As a business it's up to you to vet who you do business with and if your customer doesn't pay you that's between you had them, not the homeowner as a third party. read more

He explained everything he was doing and performed the inspection competently and carefully. he even offered to change out my attic light bulb - since he was already up there. This company is terrible. I had a water heater inspection on 12/5/23 and the guy completely missed his appointment time. I had to check my cameras to make sure he even showed up because he never knocked on my door, called me, left a note saying he was even there. I called ipermit to tell them he never showed, they couldn't get a hold of him either. They wouldn't provide his number and said they won't answer for me. Then 2 days later, I called again to tell them nobody showed up. I got Nicole on the phone who was absolutely terrible at customer service and started yelling at me because I told her the guy never showed. That's when I checked my cameras to see he spent 3 minutes on my property then left but never told anyone. I had to get a supervisor involved just to get passed her. It's now 5 days later and I have not heard 1 thing about my inspection. ipermit says call for the next one. What's the problem with the last one?! They don't communicate at all. ipermit has been horrible to work with. I don't recommend their services. read more

We had to have our evaporative coil for our AC replaced. Our home warranty company took care of it. That AC repair company has to hire someone to do HERS testing (something to do w/ making sure there are no leaks...a City requirement) I Permit was our designated company. I called and talked to Madeleine in the office (lovely young lady) and she quickly dispatched Angel to do my testing...we are getting ready to move. I have all my paperwork and now just need the City to sign off on the permit. I Permit was a terrific company to work with! read more

He came to my door with a mask on and since I am a caregiver for someone with a bad immune system, I really appreciated that. He was very professional, he called before he came and gave me a half hour 'heads-up' - which also was very appreciated.
