Disappointed in my takeout order tonight. I got the P7, large, pho with rare steak and beef balls. It was ready in less than 15 minutes. Packed nicely, with utensils. So far, so good. But, upon driving home (less than 10 minutes), the frustrations started piling up. First, they gave us hoisin sauce, but no sriracha, which should come standard. Second, the broth wasn't hot enough to cook the meat. Third, the food was generally bland; not bad, but not especially good. All in all, an underwhelming showing from iPho. I have to say that I am going to give this establishment four stars out of five. I've been to three Vietnamese restaurants so far in Cincinnati and iPho's pho is the best tasting for me. I'm not saying it's the best Vietnamese food in the world, especially since I'm originally coming from Southern California where there's a huge population of Vietnamese and Vietnamese restaurants. But for Cincinnati, their pho is actually very good. Even my husband finished my broth for me after I ate everything else lol. My husband ordered the broken rice with marinated beef with lemon grass and that was pretty good. Their fish sauce is better than the other restaurants I've been to as well so that's a plus. It's a nice quaint little restaurant, it reminds me of home because it's just very homely. I find a lot of the Asian establishments here kind of up their decor for more of the demographic population (aka trendier and fancier). Lastly we ordered their avocado smoothie and that was good too! While we were vacationing in northern Cincy, I asked my friend if there were any good Asian eats in the area, and he had heard iPho was decent. Our families met up and we decided to give it a shot. Overall it was a decent place for Vietnamese food. Pho and Bun all had good flavors. Wished the egg rolls came with lettuce, and pickled carrots and radishes to wrap in. They did offer Hanh dam, which was nice. The only thing I couldn't come to grips with is the pricing. It was quite pricy for my take for pho and bun. Ambiance wise it is plain and simple, so either you eat there quickly or take it to go which is what I did. This is the perfect place to stop in after a Costco trip nearby on my way home. It was a nice surprise to find this place and you get a decent portion (even though I ordered the smaller portion). I only wished the noodles were more al dente and I could taste a little bit of the chlorine in the water. I bet if they filtered their water that problem would be solved. This place was great. I got a brisket and beef ball phó, fried tofu with sweet chili sauce, and fried egg rolls. The broth on the phó was a nice fatty beef broth unseasoned. I love it that way. The best phó is the one you season up yourself. They had fish sauce, soy sauce, sriracha, hoisin sauce, salt, and pepper. The beef balls were great, the steak was cooked perfect. The fried tofu was a little big, but cut in half gave you a great appetizer. The fried egg rolls were nice. I liked that they added shrimp to the pork in the egg roll. It had a great flavor. At iPho they have mostly authentic Vietnamese cuisine. It has usual stuff like pho. They also have lots of noodles and sandwiches. It's not exactly a fun atmosphere. They could use some livening up. I had the vegetarian noodles. It's about $11 for the lunch portion. This is kind of much for noodles, but they did add lots of items on top. It came with many large pieces of tofu, which were crispy without tasting burnt. There were also a good variety of vegetables including broccoli, mushrooms, and onions. It's not the best Vietnamese food by any means. It's still better than anything from a fast casual Asian place. Takeout is a good option if you aren't into sparsely decorated restaurants. read more

The service and atmosphere was nice, and the Pho was good, but a little bland and not as much meat (although I liked how the meat was thin and cut into smaller pieces so it was easy to eat). My husband and I stopped in here for lunch today because the taqueria near it was closed. It was ok but I likely would not seek it out. It was nearly empty at lunch-time. Only one other couple at a table when we got there. We ordered Spring Rolls for an appetizer. It's served with a side of peanut sauce. The spring rolls were pretty good and the slightly spicy peanut sauce was tasty. My husband ordered the Lemongrass Beef with a Vietnamese iced coffee. I ordered the Crispy Noodle with Beef. My husband enjoyed his meal. I tasted his beef and I liked it as well. My dish was lacking in flavor and was so bland that I had to add some of the hoisin sauce that's on the table. The light broth that's under the noodles softens the noodles and made them easy to eat. The Vietnamese iced coffee was delicious! The worker never came back to the table to see if we needed anything else. It wasn't bad service, just inattentive. The bathrooms were very dirty and there was a coating of dust on the top of the plastic chopsticks that are in a container on the table. Also, it's silent in there, no music at all. read more

Went here tonight with my boyfriend because we found out on Facebook that they're officially RE-OPENED! The service was fast and our wait didn't take very long at all to be seated, get our order taken, and then served our food. Even though they had a large party in (of approx 10 people), they were still able to accommodate us quickly. We decided to sit outside on the shaded patio area because the weather felt so nice! The food was also great and flavorful! I am a Vietnamese-American living away from my family, so I enjoy coming here to get a taste of home away from home. I got the Fresh Spring Rolls and the Medium Rare Steak Pho. The spring rolls had a nice mix of park, shrimp and vegetables with a side of a peanut butter dipping sauce. Pretty amazing! The Pho is offered in two sizes - unless you're a Lumberjack- get the small portion! The noodles were cooked perfectly and the broth was very meaty. The Pho was accompanied by a small plate of Basil, fresh Bean Sprouts and some very spicy peppers. I got the Mango smoothie to help put out the flames from the pepper! You can get the Boba added to your smoothie for fifty cents. Service was quick and very attentive. The food are the basics of Vietnamese fare: broken rice (com), bun noodle soaked with meat or tofu, and of course the pho in the name. The pho is balanced and spiced well, delicious; the chicken soup is as good as the beef pho and the vegetarian has a lot of vegetables. I recommend most of those but don't get the vegetarian unless you're usually a vegetarian. The bun is heavy on the noodles, which are t the typical and done a little past Al dente-- don't expect Italian spaghetti here. The service is always prompt and courteous. You may have to ask to sit outside, especially in very hot or very cold days. The Vietnamese coffee is the classic coffee with chicory root flavor and condensed milk added, iced or hot, tasty in winter and refreshing in summer. Not much for diabetics here, but the pho will keep you going without an insulin crash. read more
