My husband and I came here between lunch and dinner. We shared a whole bunch of stuff including takoyaki, gyoza, Korean BBQ wings, How Fun noodles, and some boba tea. Here's my honest review. The takoyaki had great presentation but it was very mushy on the inside. I've had much better at other places. Gyoza was pretty good for the most part! The Korean BBQ wings for the price were a bit of a letdown. Just not the most flavorful but again they have great presentation. The noodles themselves were actually pretty good for the most part. They were very flavorful and good presentation for the most part. You are paying a lot for them though. And even though we got it pretty spicy, it did not have enough kick. I feel like most of the things that we got had just overall awesome presentation but were a bit of a letdown when it came to the flavor. It's really too bad because this is more of a local place for us. Whenever we want all of these same food items, we can get them better flavor and probably a bit cheaper at Kung food but we have to drive all the way to Covington. Boba tea was actually probably the best out of everything! The tapioca pearls were a good middle ground between not two chewy but not too rubbery. Very flavorful and they hit the spot! If you are craving a terrific bao bun, you have gotta give this place a shot! I tried the pork and shrimp dumplings in chili oil, the char siu bao bun, the crispy tofu bao and the crispy tofu Bahn mi. All were so flavorful and the bao was just right the tofu texture was on point! Great music and ambiance and they do have a dedicated parking lot, which makes things so much easier. First visit to Dope. We went particularly to try the Bao Buns. The greeting was friendly enough. We decided what we wanted to order only to be told they were out of Bao buns. This was at about 5:30-6 on a Friday night. After analyzing the menu again, we ordered and sat down to wait for our food. Our food was hot and came quickly (there were only two other couples so it wasn't busy). We had spring rolls, egg roll and wings to start. All very good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]However, even before we got our food, gnats were swarming our table. By the time our meals came (bahn mi and a bowl), they were so unbearable we didn't even finish our meals as they kept landing on our food[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. WeWe mentioned it to the staff and they kind of just said "yeah" and brushed it off. We left 1/2 our meals and walked out. Definitely not the experience you want after spending $50+ on a meal. Ordered takeout from here and my goodness were we surprised! They were super quick to get out our order when we arrived to us. The only downside is there isn't much parking. I had the Pork and Shrimp Wonton Shoyu which has a depth a flavor I couldn't imagine was possible in a ramen dish. The broth was excellent and pork was tasty and tender. My wife got the Char Siu Miso Ramen which was also incredibly delicious. The shining star of the meal however for me was the offhand last second decision to get the Bulgogi Beef Chinese Hamburger. This is top 3 for burgers I've had in my entire life. The burger was cooked perfectly and was just about the most delicious burger I've ever had the pleasure of eating. Korean BBQ Wings with Rice (4/5) - they come with 6 wings with rice. Love the seasoning! It is garnished with green onions and sesame seeds! Bao flight (4/5) - we ordered lemongrass chicken, Cha Siu pork and beef. - The lemongrass chicken is very special and taste amazing, can slightly taste the lemongrass and it fit well with the bao. - Cha siu pork is alright. The Cha siu is not the traditional Cha siu. It's more like a pull pork. - beef is decent. Nothing special. The seasoning taste good. Tonkotsu Ramen (2.5/5) - Ingredients: Pork marrow broth, pork belly, enoki mushroom, soft-boiled egg, bok choy and green onion - the ramen is little disappointed. Not sure if it's because of Asian Cuisine Week and they pre-prep the food. I really enjoyed my poke bowl, they definitely put a lot of sauce on the bowl and I'm a sauce type of gal lol. The only con that I can think of is that I had ordered it spicy and it was not spicy at all. I don't know if it's just my spice tolerance lol. The chilly weather just called for some Ramen, so my friend and I headed right here. Fortunately, this place does have some parking and we didn't have to wander looking for one. Once inside, we placed our orders. We got the Veggie Ramen, tofu bao and the Vietnamese cold coffee (I wish they served a hot version of this). The coffee was good. We decided to eat outside and the space was a good size (around 4-5 tables) We got kimchi broth ramen and a salmon poke bowl along with a tofu bao bun and chicken dumplings. The ramen and poke were just slightly above average.. (i think i just have really high standards for asian food) We were expecting very fresh fish like the kind that melts in your mouth, but it tasted kind of like the kroger grab-n-go salmon sushi. I called and it rang and rang and I couldn't get the order through so I just drove and placed at the counter. Staff and vibe were super cool, offering me space and a drink to sit and wait, food would be out pretty quick.It was a little longer than their estimate, but considering the volume they were doing no worries. Got home and both dishes looked and smelled incredible. The chicken karrage rice was actually not nearly as good as it looked because, despite a crispy fry, I don't think the chicken itself had any flavor, it was very bland. Good crunch, and the sauce was good, but that's about it. The ramen though was freaking DOPE. Great broth, large serving of meat and a perfect runny egg. There are other options around Cincinnati where you can get the same amount of food, if not more, for better quality and cheaper price. And everything we ordered was simply... okay. It was my first time going there so I did not know how it worked but the guy at the counter was super understanding and explained it. He offer us to sit and then come back and order, and in the meantime he brought us water. So if this is your fist time, hopefully you do read the reviews because it was explained that you come in place your order, they give you a number and bring the food. The only thing I'm not a big fan is having to tip beforehand. However, the welcoming assured the tip. We ordered the Singah beer, and green tea to drink. And to eat we had the Kimchi, the veggie Ramen and Lemongrass chicken bowl. We ordered both entrees with the hot oil on the side. Every single bite was amazing, and very tasty. I loved the Veggie Ramen and the Kimchi the most, I could literally eat the Kimchi from there everyday. The food is for sure worth the price. This place is Dope for sure! Great menu offerings. It made it hard to choose so I got a lot to try. I did 2 bao buns, a sandwich, and an egg roll. All pictured below and all delicious. The highlight was all the sauces! They are the sauce bosses here. I also enjoyed the music being played. Lots of 90s hip hop. They have a great happy hour deal I will be taking advantage of next time. They even have their own parking lot!!! The worker, Charolette, was super helpful and kind.
