Solid flavors on the bun bo hue. It's improvised with pho beef and not the usual pork feet but the broth was good. The fried crunchy noodles are great, light and crispy with fresh vegi and meat. The avocado shake was well made with cream and you can taste the fresh avocados. Overall I would recommend and come back. Good service too. read more

She ordered a smoothie and was told "no keep looking at the menu" which was later explained by stating that the waiter didn't know English. I have worked in the culinary industry for years and what baffled me the most about this whole experience was the lack of attention to even the basic beverages they were sending out. Food was served pretty quickly and tasted great. I ordered the chicken pho small size and it was quite filling. They bring out a plate of fresh sprouts, basil, jalapeños and lime to top off the pho with and it makes a tasty difference. The jalapeños can be mild or have a bit of a kick so proceed with caution if spice is not your thing. The BF and I were excited to try this new Vietnamese restaurant in our neighborhood, especially since he loves pho. We rolled right up to a parking spot in front of its strip mall location. We walked in and it smelled good, plus one. We were seated shortly after walking in. There were about 4 other tables occupied. We sat looking over the menu, which is broken down into sections like iNoodles, iPho, etc. Sadly, there were only three vegetarian options listed on their menu and neither Pho nor Bun were among them. The vegetarian options were summer rolls with tofu, a dish with egg noodles (are egg noodles even Vietnamese?), and a fried rice (isn't fried rice a Chinese dish?) with egg dish. I asked the server if any of the dishes could be made vegetarian and she became very confused, offering no options. Not sure if she didn't understand or if the restaurant just can't or won't accommodate. The BF ordered chicken Pho and an order of vegetarian summer rolls for us to share. The food was a little slow coming out, but the vegetarian spring rolls were fresh, generously sized, and tasted pretty good, plus two. The BF's pho came out shortly after we finished the summer rolls. At first bite, he thought it tasted good, but on subsequent bites he said the broth lacked any flavor whatsoever. In fact, the broth looked basically like water...he didn't eat very much of his soup because he said it just wasn't any good. Conclusion, we will not be back to iPho as it seems their pho is faux. I would choose to not return due to their lack of vegetarian/vegan options. We were both severely disappointed in iPho, as we had looked forward to having a convenient Vietnamese restaurant to frequent. Next time the BF craves pho, we will make the trek to the Heights and eat some good Vietnamese food at Cilantro. ADDITIONAL NOTE: We went back one other day, because we just wanted something light and the veggie summer rolls were good. The BF wanted shrimp summer rolls...until we looked more closely at the menu and saw that the shrimp summer rolls also had PORK in them...uh, what? This could be a 5 star restaurant, but when you order dac biet and there is no tripe, it's just not dac biet, especially when tripe is listed on the menu. Otherwise, it was a fantastic bowl of steamy, beefy, brothy, goodness. Not too salty, they don't rely on fish sauce for flavor. It is not a weak broth. I would order just the broth if I was feeling under the weather. We also ordered summer rolls and spring rolls. They do not skimp out. Summer rolls were brimming with pork and shrimp and full of flavor. Spring rolls were on point crispy and piping hot till the last bite. I went here a year ago and remembered it being pretty good, but on second visit it seemed pretty average. I am a great lover of pho, and theirs just didn't quite hit the spot. It certainly wasn't bad though. The "small" size is enough for most appetites, and it was served with plenty of fresh herbs and bean sprouts. The interior is very plain and basic. Reminds me a bit of going to restaurants in Vietnam, but cleaner and with taller chairs. All in all, I would go there again if I was in the area with a hankering for Vietnamese food. Dined here yesterday, had rare steak Phó $12 which was good and generous serving. Also ordered, fried tofu, shrimp spring rolls, and shrimp salad noodles $8.75. Salad noodle was great, sauce could be more tasty thus I just added some sweet n spicy chili sauce and shrimp was merely 8 small pieces. Not a whole lot considering its a whole bowl of dried noodles with lettuce and cucumbers. I really want to like this place, so I think I am being generous here by rounding up to give it 4 stars. We stopped by here as it was on our way to Columbus and we were in the mood to try out Vietnamese food in the Cincy area. My husband ordered the large size of their Phõ special which he liked and thought it was flavorful with generous amount of meat. I was encouraged by the fact that the owners are Vietnamese so very hopeful and excited to order the Bún Bò Húê, hoping to get that authentic flavor that I have been craving for a while. Sadly they didn't deliver, missing it by many miles, starting with not serving it with ham hocks for instance. I guess I shouldn't be surprised and considering it is in Cincy, I won't fault them too much, and glad to see Vietnamese food presence here. I did like their Summer Rolls. It was spot on. read more

I'm the last one at the spa and my tech lady friend says she's hungry and would I wait and go to get some food. She hands me the business card from the owner at iPho and says, 'we going to here'. So we drive from Monroe, Oh to Symmes Township to eat at iPho. We stop in West Chester to pick up her darling little 8 year old, and we were off. Goi Cuon looks like some creature pod from one of those alien horror movies. Stuffed with shrimp and pork, the two of them made quick work of about 4 of them. Mamma Pham had the Pho Tai soup with something in it, I don't know..and little Pham had rolls and some drink with tapioca balls in it. I had a dish with yellow rice and beef skewers.. (sorry I can't recall the name) but it was EXCELLENT, and I wasn't even that hungry. I ate it all. :) iPho is a bit out of the way for an Avondale/Clifton resident, but it was a great experience. I've been to this place a few times, starting with an announcement from a friend who's friends with the original owner. It's a bit far from me so I don't come often, but it is a very nice place to grab lunch or dinner. It's location makes it a very chill and relaxing dining experience. I've had their pho, banh xuan (omelette crepe kind of thing), and of course, the summer rolls. Oh and their avocado smoothie. Everything is pretty standard and tastes great. There's nothing that particularly stands out besides being a good all around Vietnamese restaurant, something you can't find that often in the suburbs of Cincinnati, with so few in the metro area alone. Super disappointed with this place. I'm a vegetarian and went in for some pho and realized that the restaurant has a vegetarian pho option but no vegetarian broth which makes zero sense. My fiance wanted the chicken broth with his pho and we weren't told until we were about to order that they only have beef broth available. We couldn't even eat off of the menu and we wasted a good amount of time when the man could have told us upon entering the restaurant that there was only beef broth available. So I am extremely picky about my pho. Even in the Bay Area in California, there are only a few places where I like to get it. I've tried quite a few places in Cincinnati (including Pho Kimmy, Pho Lang Thang), and none of them were acceptable to me. In any case, I have actually come back here for pho, which is saying something. The restaurant is clean. Service is definitely slow. I've been back and forth, back and forth for months: iPho and Pho Kimmy, pho thai over and over and over. I've got to say for quality and taste, iPho is IT. The difference is the rare (raw?) steak, cooked by the boiling hot broth. It imparts a scrumptious "je-ne-sais-quoi" to the pho that only this place offers. So i tolerate a subdued (dead?) atmosphere, obsequious staff and formidable language barrier just to get that taste, which is available nowhere else. It is (weirdly) best recalled after you've dined. Not pleased with my last visit. There was no one in the place other than me and a friend. We were there for an hour. In my mind, that's way too long and doesn't make sense. I've been there before and the food was good enough to go back. This time our meals were all different temperatures, either boiling and mouth burning or luke warm. We were barely acknowledged by the only person working up front, we didn't even get offered refills, had to ask. Immediate service since there were no other patrons when I stopped in for a late 2pm lunch. Though several items on the menu looked tasty, I stuck to my craving for pho ga (chicken pho.) As a person who has actually been to Vietnam and eat pho, this is the closest you're going to get to the original near Loveland! I always get the chicken pho and am never disappointed with the speed of service or quality of food. Would also highly recommend spring rolls, fried or fresh.
