    Tuna sashimi

Tuna siding was soft and not chewy. The HB Roll was amazingggg! A little on the spicier side. All these rolls are wrapped in soy paper (but can ask for seaweed instead) and the truly melt in your mouth. Some people may say they're drenched in sauce but I think that's what makes this sushi place unique, especially bc the fish is still high quality. Small and cute place with great, friendly service.

My husband and I just moved to the area and have been looking for a sushi spot and heard the locals love this place. We waited about 10 minutes for a table to open up and were seated. We ordered right away and the dishes came out fairly quickly. The fish is very fresh and tasty which exceeded my expectations. This will now be our go to sushi spot!

Everything on the menu is delicious. I love the ichiban roll, it's spicy and yummy and so tender it melts in your mouth. Sit at the bar, they're so much nicer than the waiters! They make you feel at home

The hype is real. One of my mom friends recommended this place and I'm so glad she did. What makes this place truly special are the quality cuts of fish and their unique sauces that I've never had with any other sushi restaurant. I ordered my food to go, which unfortunately did take over 30 minutes to prepare, but it was worth the wait. Me inside of the restaurant is small. I can only accommodate for 10 tables and a sushi bar and this restaurant is located in a shopping center tucked behind Bagelmania. The cost is extremely reasonable and for what you get it's well worth it.

Great restaurant but it is small. Very hard to go with a big group. Not too bad with two people. Sushi bar seating is an option. Food is really good. Our favorite rolls were off the menu and came up while speaking with the sushi chef. Seating at the bar is really fun and the sushi chefs are great! Fish is very fresh! Service was really good too. Food came out fairly quickly and we never had to ask for more water or tea.

My boyfriend and I love this place! Please expect a wait as the area is small and cozy. We waited for an hour to an hour and a half when we got there around 5:10pm. We ordered the spicy edamame, two orders of the mixed sashimi, an order of the tuna special, two orders of the bluefin tuna, a fatboy roll, and a huntington beach roll. We are big sashimi people so this definitely hit the spot. The spicy edamame was a great appetizer - it wasn't too spicy or salty. The Fatboy roll had a citrus hit which my boyfriend liked. I preferred the HB roll. Everything was super fresh and yummy! I'm glad to have a great sushi place nearby. The service was great and attentive as well. Next time I would ask to sit away from the door and from the takeout area as these areas get crowded quickly and constantly. I was quite bothered due to these pickup orders.

Next time roll, Huntington Beach roll

Definitely coming back to eat inside. Huntington roll: a lot of fish! Good quality fish. Fish was buttery and didn't smell weird or have any fishy taste. I preferred this one. Next time roll: good for people who aren't the biggest fan of fish. It has imitation crab and shrimp tempura inside. Outside is fresh salmon and cucumber. At 5pm, there's already a long line outside. Be prepared to wait. Take out order was fast.

Number 9 (on the secret menu) was unreal you have to get it it's amazing. My wife loved the HB roll said it was the best roll she's ever had. Don't forget to get the Tuna Special it comes with two peaces but I wish it came with 20. Andy was our server and he was the best. Might be the best sushi in Huntington Beach.

So bomb! The Jay Roll is it! Nice and Spicy - but just enough. It's one we always order along with Tamara#9 and The HB.

I'm a bit torn about this place. I think the portions could be bigger for the price of the rolls. We got the sashimi platter, chirashi, seared tuna, and irassae roll. The irassae roll was ok, not the most inventive, but it was still good. I was disappointed with the chirashi rice, it was pretty mushy for sushi rice. The seared tuna was decent but it was verrry lightly seared. Not what you'd typically see a sear as. Note that a lot of people post about the ghost roll, but that's off menu. I wanted to order it but it wasn't on the menu so we assumed they no longer served it didn't get it, and then found out later they serve it but part of a secret menu. Would I come back again? Maybe but would try completely different things.

been here a few times already, but this last time was so fun! this nice man who works here recommended a ton of off menu items/ secret menu items that were so yummy !! fat boy, #9, karen, spicy lady, hb, troublemaker were all amazing rolls !! all the food here is always delicious, and their entire staff never disappoints with 10/10 customer service. the tempura and soft shell crab were both piping hot and lightly battered. the baked mussels are also scrumptious. its a relatively small restaurant, so make sure you come early and put your name down. i promise its worth the drive and the wait. the fat boy was so good we ordered it twice during the same visit!! 1000% would recommend irassae to anyone who is craving sushi rolls with the perfect rice to fish to topping ratio! arguably the best rolls in oc !!

From the moment mine companions and I crossed the threshold, we were greeted with warmth and cheer, as though we were cherished guests returning home from a long and weary journey. Upon our departure, the farewells were equally heartfelt, leaving us with the feeling that we had dined not amongst strangers, but amongst dear friends. The atmosphere within was calm and comforting, familiar in a way that soothed the soul. In a world filled with noisy feasting halls and chaotic marketplaces, this establishment stood as a peaceful sanctuary where one might rest and enjoy a most noble meal. The serving folk were nothing short of extraordinary. Attentive without hovering, quick of wit, and brimming with personality, they carried themselves with the sort of genuine hospitality that cannot be taught by any guild or academy. Every interaction felt sincere and full of heart. Now, let us speak of the pan-fried gyoza, for I fear words alone may fail to capture its greatness. These glorious parcels arrived golden and crisp upon the outside, yet tender and delicate within. Each bite tasted as though it had been crafted by hand moments before reaching the table. Were I granted a chest of gold, I would gladly spend it all upon another plate. And lo! The White Peach Seltzer. Good people, I have sampled beverages from many corners of the kingdom, from noble feasts to humble roadside inns, and never in my years have I encountered a seltzer so divine. It was refreshing beyond measure, kissed with the perfect essence of white peach. Had a celestial spring existed in the heavens themselves, I imagine it would taste much the same. Perhaps most admirable of all was the story behind this fine establishment. The keepers spoke of their history and journey with such authenticity and pride that one could not help but feel invested in their success. Nothing felt rehearsed or hollow; their passion was as real as the food upon the table. I departed with a full belly, a joyful heart, and a solemn vow to return many times henceforth. This shall become one of my regular gathering places, and I shall recommend it to all wandering souls seeking comfort, hospitality, and a feast worthy of legend. Five stars. Five crowns. Five royal decrees of approval. "Should destiny guide thee to this ramen house, enter without hesitation. Thy taste buds shall sing songs of victory long after the meal is done."

[Missing noodles, expensive ramen, bad customer service, and no reason to come back.]…read more I visited this restaurant to place a to-go order and picked up my food during a late lunch around 1:40 p.m. I ordered two items, including a bowl of tonkotsu ramen. When I got back to work in Santa Ana and opened my bag around 2:30 p.m., my ramen had NO NOODLES. It was literally just broth and toppings. I called the restaurant expecting a simple apology and a reasonable solution. Instead, the manager would not even speak to me directly and chose to communicate through a waiter the entire time, which made the situation even more frustrating. We went back and forth multiple times with the waiter acting as the middleman. First, they told me I could come back and pick up the missing noodles. That was not realistic. I was already back at work, and it takes me about 25 minutes to get from Fountain Valley to Santa Ana. Driving all the way back for a side of noodles made no sense. So I asked for what seemed like the easiest and most reasonable solution: a complimentary bowl of ramen on my next visit. Instead, I was told no, but they could give me "extra noodles" next time. Extra noodles next time? What exactly was that supposed to do for me when I was sitting there hungry with no actual ramen to eat that day? Then the manager, again through the waiter, said she would personally drive noodles to my job. I even told them that did not make sense because by the time she got there, it would be around 4:30 p.m. At that point, my lunch break would be long over, the ramen would be cold, and all of it would be a waste of my time, her time, restaurant resources, and gas. But I agreed, because at that point it was obvious they really did not want to simply offer me a free bowl of ramen on my next visit. And to be clear, I was not asking for some huge free meal. I was asking to be compensated for the ramen I already paid good money for and did not even receive correctly. For how expensive ramen is, that should not have been a difficult ask. About 10 minutes later, the waiter called back and said the manager would give me a free bowl of ramen next time I came in, which was the exact solution I had suggested from the start. I can only assume she realized how far the drive was and how unnecessary and impractical that solution would have been. Mistakes happen. Forgetting the noodles was one thing. But the way this was handled was unnecessarily difficult, inconvenient, and honestly kind of absurd. I did not ask for a refund. I was looking for an apology and some common-sense customer service. Instead, I got a lot of back-and-forth and a manager who would not even speak to me directly. Kudos to the waiter for doing their best to mediate the situation. Even they thought the situation could of been handled differently by the manager. Very disappointing experience. I will not be returning, and I would not recommend this place to others based on how this situation was handled.
