This place will always be busy/active due to its location. It's right on the most populous street of Huntington Beach. While the vibes are great, the fish quality...not so great. I have high expectations when coming to a sushi restaurant that is located so close to the ocean, so Sushi on Fire disappointed me a little bit. The Yellowtail Supreme tasted bland & stiff, as if it had been sitting out all day. In fact, none of the raw fish items we ordered had that ~fresh~ taste to them. The star of the show was actually the Crab Cheese Wontons. They are served fresh & hot with crab and cream cheese filling. On the side is a sweet&sour sauce that paired very well. I really enjoyed the variety that came with it. I think the California rolls, tuna rolls, and salmon sushi ended up being my favorites lol. The miso soup was also really enjoyable. If you come at a right time the ambiance is very relaxed with great beach weather, and fast service!! First got to experience this place 6 years ago when I first visited Huntington Beach, since then I've come back with a quest of trying every popular roll on their menu. I can honestly say that every roll is delicious and the quality is consistant. Animal, Action, 3 Amigos, Pink Lady, Girl on the Beach, Station 42, Rainbow, Four Corners, Lobster, Spicy Edamame, No Name Salad, DK, Beach Boy, 911, Magic Mountain(if you like stir fry's), and Refreshing are my favorite dishes. If you go and there is a long line, order take out and head next door to the wine bar and have some wine and eat your sushi. We stopped by Sushi On Fire in Huntington Beach for lunch and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. The sushi was incredibly fresh, beautifully presented, and some of the best rolls we've had in a long time. We ordered several different items including a Jalapeño Roll, a Seared Albacore Roll, Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice, and a tuna sashimi style plate, and everything was fantastic. The flavors were incredible and you can tell they really know what they're doing with their sauces and preparation. Every roll had its own unique taste and was perfectly balanced. The wait staff was outstanding friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. One of the coolest parts is that their patio is dog-friendly, so we were able to bring our Pomeranian with us to lunch, which made the day even more enjoyable. Came here for an early dinner. We managed to beat the weekend rush and got seated right away. The place is clean amd the server was very friendly. We ordered baked mussels, seaweed salad, cream cheese wontons, and garlic edamame for appetizers. For our main entrees we got the BSC roll, Tuna roll, Philadelphia roll, 911 roll, and one other roll from the special menu that I cannot, for the life of me remember the name. Baked mussels- The sauce they put over it was a perfect blend of sweet and savory. Mussels were cooked right with a good chewy but soft texture. Garlic edamame- The seasoning was delicious and the roasted garlic chips added so much flavor. Seaweed salad- Refreshing and a good palate cleanser. It was mildly sweet with a tangy finish. Nice crunchy texture. Cream cheese wontons- Perfectly crisp on the outside and creamy inside. The dipping sauce provided was the best I've ever tasted. It has a honey flavor with a tangy finish. BSC Roll- I love scallops so this was my favorite. It comes baked and topped with a sweet sauce that ties all the flavors together. Tuna Roll- Can't go wrong with a classic! The tuna is fresh and it comes with a smoky sauce that brings out the flavors. Philadelphia Roll- Another classic! It has a creamy finish. I would recommend dipping in soy sauce though since it doesn't come with its own. 911 Roll- The fish is once more peaking in freshness. It is wrapped with avocado which gives it a smooth finish. Drizzled with a sweet and spicy sauce that was goes well with the whole dish. Mystery roll because I forgot the name, sorry- This had top notch presentation!
