Usually when we ask for extra ginger, we get maybe two more pieces. At Sushi On Fire, though, we get two more containers of ginger. This sounds small, but it really makes a difference. Sushi on Fire gets the balance right: solid quality fish without the whole overpriced, overhyped vibe you get at a lot of places around here. The rolls are actually well put together (not falling apart halfway through), and the fish tastes fresh, not masked by a bunch of sauces. The sushi was incredibly fresh, beautifully presented, and some of the best rolls we've had in a long time. We ordered several different items including a Jalapeño Roll, a Seared Albacore Roll, Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice, and a tuna sashimi style plate, and everything was fantastic. The flavors were incredible and you can tell they really know what they're doing with their sauces and preparation. Every roll had its own unique taste and was perfectly balanced. The wait staff was outstanding friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. One of the coolest parts is that their patio is dog-friendly, so we were able to bring our Pomeranian with us to lunch, which made the day even more enjoyable. Animal, Action, 3 Amigos, Pink Lady, Girl on the Beach, Station 42, Rainbow, Four Corners, Lobster, Spicy Edamame, No Name Salad, DK, Beach Boy, 911, Magic Mountain(if you like stir fry's), and Refreshing are my favorite dishes. If you go and there is a long line, order take out and head next door to the wine bar and have some wine and eat your sushi. We ordered baked mussels, seaweed salad, cream cheese wontons, and garlic edamame for appetizers. For our main entrees we got the BSC roll, Tuna roll, Philadelphia roll, 911 roll, and one other roll from the special menu that I cannot, for the life of me remember the name. Baked mussels- The sauce they put over it was a perfect blend of sweet and savory. Mussels were cooked right with a good chewy but soft texture. Garlic edamame- The seasoning was delicious and the roasted garlic chips added so much flavor. Seaweed salad- Refreshing and a good palate cleanser. It was mildly sweet with a tangy finish. Nice crunchy texture. Cream cheese wontons- Perfectly crisp on the outside and creamy inside. The dipping sauce provided was the best I've ever tasted. It has a honey flavor with a tangy finish. BSC Roll- I love scallops so this was my favorite. It comes baked and topped with a sweet sauce that ties all the flavors together. Tuna Roll- Can't go wrong with a classic! The tuna is fresh and it comes with a smoky sauce that brings out the flavors. Philadelphia Roll- Another classic! It has a creamy finish. I would recommend dipping in soy sauce though since it doesn't come with its own. 911 Roll- The fish is once more peaking in freshness. It is wrapped with avocado which gives it a smooth finish. Drizzled with a sweet and spicy sauce that was goes well with the whole dish. Mystery roll because I forgot the name, sorry- This had top notch presentation! My family and I have been dining here for about 14 years now (so this review is well overdue). For us, part of the dining experience is consistency -- and this place definitely checks that box. We always enjoy the freshness, quality, and overall flavor of the dishes here. We even took my father from the east coast who had never had sushi in his life and made him a fan. We especially love the refreshing roll, red dragon roll, salmon sashimi, salmon belly, and the crab wontons. The service is quick and professional without being over the top. I was pleasantly surprised on how much I enjoyed my meal! The one roll that I would leave out never time was the steak roll but otherwise every other roll was delicious. Clearly my taste or expectations are different that most everyone else here, but Sushi on Fire did not float my boat. This was like no sushi restaurant I've ever been to. All of the rolls had "creative" combinations and sauces and spices. The quality of the fish was low and camouflaged with all sorts of spicy sauces and toppings. My general impression was the fish was low quality and doused in sauce & spice so you don't notice the fish. Good sushi doesn't need anything but itself, maybe a dip in soy sauce or a dab of wasabi. I had miso soup, Crunchy Roll, and salmon nigiri. We also shared a plate of tempura with the table. The soup was cold. The salmon was flavorless. The Crunchy Roll was basically just a ton of tempura flakes on a roll with flavorless shrimp tempura. The tempura platter was OK, nothing great. I won't give it 1-star, but it doesn't deserve 3 either. 2 stars it is. This is just one persons opinion. read more

We always enjoy sushi on fire on Main Street! Tonight I decided to try something I haven't tried before and I chose the "animal" specialty roll. I unfortunately didn't like it. To me, it tasted sour as if lemons or limes had been doused on top of it. I had mentioned to the server that I didn't like the roll, and she assured me that no lemons or limes are used on it, and that the roll is most popular with their other customers. I'm not sure why I didn't like it or why it was sour, but my husband tried it too and he also agreed with me that it was sour. The lady was very nice and she did remove it from our bill and we did not have to pay for it. I tried the Halloween specialty roll for the first time tonight as well and I enjoyed that one very much! The food arrived in a reasonable amount of time, but it was honestly just okay for the price. I've had much better sushi elsewhere for the same cost. The service was the biggest letdown. The only time anyone seemed attentive was when the bill came. Having someone stand right over my shoulder as I filled out the tip felt really uncomfortable--especially since the preset tip options start at 18%.
