A very quaint and cozy place with good food. The California roll was the best one I've had in awhile, the rice on it was fresh and the filling wasn't dense as it can get at some places. The servers working were very nice as well!

Fresh fish but the overall sushi roll was kind of mushy. Maybe other places keep their fish in a colder fridge so it tightens up a bit. The Stinky Roll was pretty good. It's like a California Roll topped with Albacore Tuna, roasted garlic chips, and butter. Great taste just mushy. Ambience is a small restaurant manned by a husband and wife team. Service is slow but not bad.

My go-to nearby sushi restaurant. They never disappoint, have fair prices, fresh fish, good sake. They also have a sushi bar with 1 tv at the bar and 1 in the dining area. The service is always great and quick with a smile. It's fairly small but I've never had to wait for a table.

Their noodles are made in-house, with a wonderfully chewy texture, and their Kansai-style broth is made with Hokkaido kelp and bonito flakes. Here's what we ordered: Sesame Tofu Silky, smooth, and creamy with a rich sesame flavor. A light and delicious way to start the meal. Fried Squid Leg Crispy on the outside and wonderfully chewy inside. So addictive and perfect for sharing! Kakuni - Braised Pork Belly Tender, juicy pork belly with a savory-sweet Japanese flavor. It practically melts in your mouth. Cheese Curry Udon One of our favorites! Thick, chewy udon covered in rich Japanese curry and creamy melted cheese. Warm, comforting, and SO satisfying. Shabu Shabu Udon Tender slices of beef with chewy homemade udon in a warm, savory broth. Simple, comforting, and delicious. Tempura Zaru Soba Refreshing cold soba noodles served with crispy tempura. I love the combination of cool, chewy noodles and hot, crunchy tempura. Nabeyaki Udon A steaming bowl of comfort food! The flavorful broth and chewy udon make this such a cozy and satisfying dish. Suki Beef Curry Bowl Savory-sweet sukiyaki-style beef with rich curry over rice. Every bite is packed with flavor! Katsu Bowl Crispy, tender katsu served over rice--simple, hearty, and definitely kid-approved! Honestly, we ordered so many different things and there wasn't much left on the table! This is definitely a great family-friendly spot. Free Parking!

A really good Japanese lunch spot…read more A cute little restaurant located in a strip mall area. As a warning, this place gets pretty crowded, so you may have to wait 20 minutes or so depending on how busy it is. At this restaurant they mostly have Udon, soups, and some cooked meal sets. They also have a small portions menu if you're not too hungry. Unfortunately, there's not many vegetarian options so something to keep in mind when you visit. I got the Mackerel combo set and it was a pretty good portion size. The mackerel was nice and crispy and not overcooked at all. The flavor was good but it's just missing something that would make it burst with flavor. It still tasted really good though. Overall would recommend trying this spot at least once.

Kappo Honda is such a wonderful place to wind down with a beer and some good casual food. I sat at…read morethe counter, but they're cooking such a large volume of food that they've put up a big screen between the chiefs and the diners to avoid a large amount of smoke moving into the dining area. I got to watch the process a bit which was cool! I think anything you order here will probably be good, especially paired with a couple cold beers. You MUST get some skewers of course, my favorites being anything pork belly and chicken skin. I also highly recommend any charred meat, like the steak or marinated short ribs. Fried foods are also great drinking foods, so the takoyaki is a safe bet and the tempura was delicious. Honestly, get a wide variety with some friends, try everything and have a good time.

TLDR: It's easily one of my favorite Japanese restaurants. It's not because everything I ordered…read morewas the best, but it's because everything I ordered was either above average or podiums on my list. I think the price was also reasonable, which is all one could ask for when dining out. Chicken Teriyaki: I really enjoyed this, because I rarely go to Japanese restaurants that serve chicken teriyaki outside of a side dish in ACYE. The chicken is juicy, the teriyaki sauce is just the right hit. Not too salty, a hint of sweet, and the dish overall is generally light. A great complement to the rolls, yakitori, ramen, or whatever. Kyushu Ramen: I will admit that this ramen will fall on the pile of "generic ramens that non-specialty stores sell". However, there is nothing wrong with ordinary, if ordinary means that a restaurant is proud to serve something at a respectable price with a solid taste. Beef Tongue: It's no secret that beef tongue is good. The problem is finding an establishment that can cook it well. Kappo Honda does it well, and they offer a very good diving board to those who want to try it for the first time. Bay Scallop with Pork: I like it when I see an item on the menu that has a few words, and I taste all the flavors that the words communicated. You get the taste of pork the first second, then the burst of scallop on the first or second chew. A nicely designed stick overall. Service: Nothing special. They ask what you want, they give you what you want, you pay, and leave. I would say it'll take you a second to take the menu in, so try to see if the staff could help you out with options. Ambiance: It's a sizable place, but it feels small because of all the seats packed in. I enjoyed it because it gives a very Japanese vibe. The inside of the restaurant is full of autographs of famous people who dined at some point, very Japanese.
