Extremely poor communication and a complete waste of my time. (2 weeks for nothing) I dropped off my water-damaged iPhone on a Monday. The employee at the front told me they would perform a free diagnostic, that it would take about one hour, and that they would call me with the results. Nobody called. I called the following day and spoke with another employee, whose name I believe was Xue. She told me the phone was a total loss and would cost more to repair than to replace. I asked whether they could at least recover my photos and files because they were not backed up to iCloud. She said yes, quoted me $150-$200, and told me it would take two to three days. Since this was Tuesday, I expected it to be completed by Friday. Again, nobody called. I called on Saturday, and the same guy who took my phone answered and told me the technician still needed to inspect the damage and that it would take another two to three days. This made no sense because I had already been told the phone had been diagnosed and that my data recovery would be completed by Friday. After receiving no updates the following week, I went to the store on Thursday to get my phone back and stop wasting my time. The guy then told me they were still performing diagnostics and that my phone's motherboard had been sent to their headquarters. He said I could take the phone without the motherboard if I did not want to wait. How was I supposed to recover my files without the motherboard when recovering my data was the entire reason I left the phone with them? I told him I wanted my phone returned complete and in the same condition in which I had given it to them. He promised it would be ready the following day before 3:00 p.m. I returned on Friday and finally picked it up. In the end, they kept my phone for two weeks, recovered none of my data, repeatedly failed to call me, and missed every deadline they gave me. They also put in a $10 screen with no face recognition. They charged me to replace both front and back screen but only replaced the front. I have gone to many phone and iPad replacements over the years and have never had an issue before now. Do not trust the 4 stars they are most likely from fake accounts, giving fake ratings. Mason the repair person was awesome replacing my battery and also replacing my charging port for under $100. The only caution I will share to others replacing your cell phone battery is that original Apple batteries are preferred to work accurately with your IPhone. The battery I got was a third party battery which works fine but will not be calibrated with the iPhone. It shows 91% fully charged but the battery health is 100%. A couple times now I've come to this store and they fixed or helped me fix my phone on the spot and charged me nothing. Today my phone said SOS where the bars should be and wouldn't let me make a call. He tried a couple things and got it working for an hour (no charge) but then it did the same thing. I brought it back and after examining he said I should take it to the AT&T store across the street and ask for an eSIM. I did and it works perfectly again. They diagnosed my phone twice for free and ultimately referred me to another store without asking for a dime. And the other store was able to fix it also for free. I've came to iRepair about a little over a year ago before covid to get an estimate for my mini iPad. It had a cracked and LCD screen. They gave me an estimate about almost $ 100 from what i recall.
