The quality of the fish was so good. The portions were perfect for me. Some of the sets come with ice cream so that was a bonus. Food came out so fast and our servers were amazing. Our waiter didn't even give us a heads up or point us in the direction of any dishes to consider for the kids (surely we must not be the only family who has brought kids to this restaurant). Lastly, I understand that the tempura brownie is popular but after tasting the "tempura" on the tofu I'm sure the brownie is just the star that shines through. The "tempura" on the tofu was gummy and not the authentic Japanese tempura we are used to (my husband, who is part Japanese, said to me "What is this?! Cornstarch?"). This is probably a great restaurant for drinks and hanging out with some adult friends but the rolls and appetizers were just not to our tastes. We were also sat outside when the restaurant was near empty inside and out (we went around 4PM) and it was a hot day (though the AC wasn't particularly cool enough for my preference inside either).

The chefs and staff also had a good sense of humor. At one point they served kinki fish and jokingly explained that the English translation sometimes gets called "idiot fish," which got everyone laughing at the counter. The omakase is definitely on the pricier side, but the quality, presentation, and overall experience made it very satisfying. If you're looking for a refined sushi experience with great service and beautifully crafted bites, this place is worth the splurge.

This has been a spot my girlfriends and I have come to for more than ten years together. It is a charming, fun, delicious and an open environment with excellent service. We love the BYOB, we bring our own cups and the breaded tofu is a staple at our table. Combination A is always ordered with the ahi takaki style (slightly seared on the edges) with tempura, garlic ahi, any of the sushi rolls on special and the banana lumpia dessert. Although you have to have all of your members of the party present to be sat, it helps to get our group together there on time, which happens like NEVER. We have also had issues with the parking lot across the street towing EARLY by 15 minutes which is not fair, and nothing to do with Irifune as a business. I suggest taking the extra five to ten minutes to find street parking and walk over to the restaurant to avoid and headaches and to ultimately enjoy your unique meal. I've been a super big fan since their old location and I'm so happy they moved closer to work. Since it's their Soft Open, they seem to be working on the menu as they only had a handful of options, but they kept all the main dishes! Excellent food and friendly waitstaff although they get overwhelmed when the restaurant is really busy. Some tourists get upset (try wait!) but those of us that have been coming for years know it is worth the wait. Aloha Sushi has several locations such as Waikiki, Airport, and Downtown. They are convenient, relatively inexpensive, and are mainly a takeout business. Service was efficient and helpful. I was asked if I needed chopsticks, wasabi, a receipt, or shoyu... I didn't need anything! I ordered the Lunch Bento and the Nigiri Dinner Bento to compare. They're the same price. They both have tamago, ahi, unagi, and tako. The dinner Bento had tobiko, salmon, and ikura while the lunch Bento had cucumber and maki sushi. Maybe I should return when I need to bring something for a potluck... my family would like it!

Teri chicken don is tasty, but the pieces are a little fatty. Cucumber maki was good. The dynamite…read moremaki was delicious with shrimp tempura & spicy ahi. The crunch bowl was interesting but I couldn't figure out what kind of vegetables they were. It was tasty, but want to try the shrimp tempura next time. Service was speedy & everything was fresh. Have come here 4-5 times in the past year.
