I used to always order from here but as of today I probably won't again. When i received my turkey and cheese sub it had shredded cheddar cheese one piece of turkey and all lettuce. We use Iris for take out for salads and pizza. Ordered online yesterday and it was easy, seamless and the food order was correct. The food was hot and delicious. The staff is very pleasant. Today was the third time we ordered for delivery. The delivery is prompt and the driver always friendly and courteous. The quesadilla was delicious, the taco salad lacking in ingredients (mine blows theirs away)- no shredded cheese, no green peppers, no salsa, taco shell oily. If you want sour cream or extra dressing its .50 a pop- . The Chefs salad was alright, nothing special. The chili was alright, if you wanted shredded cheese, onions or sour cream there was an additional charge for each item. The burrito went right in the dumpster after one bite, there was an awful taste (and I don't consider myself picky). The fries were limp and not very palatable. The food is very good, but the lack of attention from the person taking the order is HORRIBLE. I used to order from Iris almost every weekday, but today was the last time I ordered from them. First time I ordered a veggie burger and asked for cheese, it was delivered w/out it. Another time I ordered a Haddock dinner, I paid full price for dinner, but received a tiny piece of fish. Another time I ordered a chicken parm, the chicken was burned. I called and spoke w/owner and he asked a few times if it was burned. I made sure to send it back. Today the owner took my order and I didn't receive my order as I placed it. I called and spoke w/him, the man argued w/me on the phone. I thanked him for his service, and the owner sarcastically said your welcome. I will never order from them again. Whatever happened to the customer is always right? Delivery took over 2 hours to go one mile and the food came cold. The manager sincerely apologized and said that the next meal would be on him or he could refund our card.... he didn't give us a refund. So when we called to redeem that offer he said that he already paid us, yelled at us, and hung up on us. Yup, never going back there no matter how good the food is. read more

HORRIBLE; ordered through FOODLER - called after an hour and 10 minutes and no food - person who answered the phone was on a high speed wobble frantically yelling how busy they were; they closed the kitchen; the food won't be cold - sooooo your still delivering the order we placed over an hour ago - Yes'yes! So our order was placed at 7:30 - I made the phone call at 8:40 - and at 9:25 I called AGAIN and CANCELLED the order - which he had no idea of the status anyways! I showed them a hell of a lot more courtesy than they showed me. If they closed the kitchen over an hour ago why was I still waiting for a small pizza and sandwich an hour after that?? Don't even bother ordering delivery with these people. Their delivery person is lazy and doesn't like to do his job. If I wanted to walk to get my pizza, it's right around the corner - I could do so. But instead, I ordered DELIVERY so it can be DELIVERED. They don't want to issue me a refund because their lazy driver is afraid of stairs. Winner Winner Turkey Dinner 2015! We had Iris' cater an early Thanksgiving Dinner party for 15-friends, and we weren't disappointed. The food was hot and on time. The owner of the restaurant personally helped me. The turkey was larger than we hoped for, and the mashed potatoes tasted scratch made complete with a few home cooked lumps and buttery (not from a box). The stuffing, which was also scratch made, was traditional (no chestnuts, no raisins, etc.) The corn was also delicious and obviously cut from the cob. Food is actually really good however portion sizes are relatively small. The biggest complaint we have is delivery time, tonight we were told order would be here at 7:15 it arrived at 7:55. Ordered chicken parm with pasta and garlic bread. The chicken was not cooked well, not tender at all, and a little rubbery. The pasta was meh, and the sauce was over seasoned. I've only ordered 3 times but so far I'm pretty pleased. I love the grilled salmon dinner, it's delicious and the portion of salmon is worth the price (though I wish they gave more veggies). This was one of my favorite spots to grab a bite to eat. Not anymore. The first bad experience was with a fried fish sandwich. I always got a decent piece of fresh fish. This time they served me what appeared to be 3 small pieces of fish nuggets. They were overly cooked, saturated with grease/oil, and didn't even cover the entire bun. The fries were not edible. Everyone has a bad day so the next time that I went there for a fish sandwich and mentioned my bad experience, the owner claimed that his fish supplier told him that it wasn't a good year for fish. I ordered the fish sandwich again and it wasn't as good as always but better than the fish nuggets experience. This week I ordered a bacon, mushroom and swiss angus burger basket w/steak fries; one of my favorites. The burger was cooked to perfection but the steak fries died a slow death in the deep fryer. They were so saturated with grease/oil which seeped out of the fries and saturated the bottom of the hamburger bun rendering it inedible. If I go back, and that's a big if, I will only order the carne asada. read more

The pizza prices are reasonable and comparable to any joint around the area, sauce is very good, cheese is good, but where they lose me is the crust. The crust is just never crisp. I've been in Medford for a year and a half, and for a year and a half, this has been my favorite local restaurant. Originally it was Hot Cheese or Extra Cheese (I forget which name), and the only thing that's changed is the name. The owner, the people, the food, all still top-notch. I don't know the owner's name, but I see him at the cash register every time I go in. That man always has a smile on his face. Last time I was in there, he was talking to another of his regulars about some upcoming new options for the menu. The Cheeseburger Pizza and the Jalapeno Hamburger are my two favorite menu items. Ordered via foodler and due to an error on foodler the number listed for them to call was 317-xxx-xxxx. Anyone in mass will tell you the area code is 617 not 317. Due to this mistake the restaurant claims they spent 15 minutes trying to get in touch with me calling the 317 number. Calling that number you get a fax... Clearly should be an easy understanding to try 617 the actual area code. Instead I was never contacted by foodler or the restaurant. I called both an hr an a half after my order to have a rude gentlemen pick up and tell me they will not redeliver my order and that this was on me. That the $19 order plus my $2 tip was not enough for them to come back so it was on me and they would not issue a refund even though I have no car to get to the restaurant to pick it up. Foodler even asked them if they could refund the order as it was a one digit off but they denied the request from them as well. Business must be great over here if they have to fight customers for $20. I won't ever be ordering from here and neither will a lot of their previous customers. read more

Ordered food from here, waited 30 minutes after the expected delivery time to see my if the driver left and finally got a call back from the driver ten minutes later telling me he rang the bell when it says "do not ring, to call" and he tells me he doesn't have a phone, chuckled, and that he will be at my house in 7 minutes -_- random amount of time but whatever I canceled my order because who wants their food cold !? I work in this neighborhood a few weeks each year and I have always been disappointed by the lack of lunchtime options available. I like pizza and subs as much as the next guy but it's still disheartening to find only variants of pizza and fried at sixty percent of the lunchtime restaurants within a three block stretch of Salem street. It got to the point where if a restaurant even looked like a pizza place, I would just pass it by. Luckily, I found a credible review on Yelp for Iris, a place I had rejected several times simply because it has that pizza shop vibe. After checking out their online menu, I decided to try one of the salad offerings, and I'm glad I did! I chose the Baby Spinach with Apple, Fresh Mozzarella, Glazed Walnuts, and topped with Grilled Chicken. It was wonderful, crisp, and beautifully presented and plated; a bargain at under $9.00. I had a similar salad yesterday at Aquitaine in the South End, also wonderful but half the size and twice the price. Iris is an unpolished gem that deserves your attention if you are in the East Medford area. read more

Great spot for good food and friendly service. The rueben was excellent. My girlfriend likes the chicken kebab wrap. We love coming here.
