Irish 31 in Oviedo is a great sports bar! It's not huge like other sports bars, but more intimate and friendly. The food is consistently delicious, and the service consistently great. They have a wonderful menu, something for everyone. Lots of outside seating and parking. If you have been meaning to go, do it! Invite friends and see for yourself what a great time you will have. We tried Irish 31 for the first time for lunch today and really enjoyed it. Parked gets packed in this plaza on the weekends but we were able to grab a spot up front as another party was leaving. We were surprised to see the restaurant was pretty empty when we got there but it picked up as we enjoyed our meal. It was also gorgeous out today, so they had the porch doors open for some fresh air, which I loved. This is an awesome spot to go watch a game -- we really enjoyed watching the Winter Olympics! Our server was very attentive and helpful, making my jalapeño mule slightly less spicy. We were in the mood for healthier, lighter fare so we opted for the humus wrap and the whiskey chicken entrees. I have been to Irish 31 a few times in the past. I decided to go to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. They have a pretty limited menu which doesn't really have gluten free. I ended up getting the classic Reuben sandwich but they put it into a bowl since they didn't have gluten free bread. I also got mashed potatoes. It was decent. I hope they get some more gluten free options in the future. They did have some live music playing which was nice. read more

Irish 31 is one of the newer restaurants in the Oviedo area that have popped up in recent years. They became popular because of their sports bar atmosphere while serving up Irish food. The restaurant becomes a party zone during big football game nights as they have a lot of TVs and will reserve areas for groups. I've visited with my family on two occasions on non sports nights. We sat outside on our second visit because the weather was nice. The table was wobbly. Our server tried to help by trying a couple other tables but they were the same. We chose the best one and it ended up working out fine. They do have a fun gas fire pit with couches outside though! If you're a fan of Irish food, you're at the right place. On our first visit we of course tried a Boxty which is their signature appetizer - fried potato balls. They have a plain option but I would definitely recommend the boxty with a filling inside such as corned beef! The dipping sauces are great too. The outside is slightly crispy and the inside is creamy mashed potatoes. If you're a potato lover like me, you'll devour these. We've also tried the nachos which are made with potato chips and ground beef. Sticking with the potato theme, the shepherds pie is a good choice for a hearty dish. My husband loved the St. Patty Melt and you can tell by the photo that it is a winner. They have a couple items on their kids menu and my son enjoyed the chicken fingers and chips. Went to Irish31 for a early St Patty's celebration on Sunday afternoon, and we had a early dinner, the place had a plenty of room, we sat by the outside patio. The server was very helpful and polite, and our food and drinks came in, and out fast. I order an Irish coffee to start, and husband a Guiness. I loved the Irish coffee, it was smooth, perfect mix of alcohol and coffee. For the food I ordered a Shepher's pie, I was surprised not to get a bigger plate for the price, but it was pretty good flavor wise, and it filled me up so I was happy with it. This was a goo Irish-based meal. We stopped here for an early lunch because all of the local brunch spots were overcrowded. It had been a while since I had Irish 31 so I decided a traditional-ish Irish dish would be cool. I ordered the Shepards pi Boxty and my wife ordered the Fish & chips. The boxty was 3 large prepared batter4ed balls of potatoes, veggies and shepherds pie ingredients along side a board of gravy. The dish dod not exactly knock my socks off, but to be fair it was decent meal. My wife's fish and chips were to be expected as well. Given the timing of our meal, the restaurants was not crowded and there was plenty of seating, even so we were seated in a table that was in a tight airily way that it seemed everyone needed to use.....it wasn't necessarily a hassle, just odd choice to Ben seated in such an empty restaurant at that time. The food and service at Irish 31 in Oviedo was absolutely phenomenal. I ordered the "Classic Reuben" and my mom ordered "The Pie of the Shepherd"...the blend of seasoning and just the freshness put these dishes on another level. As far as the waitress/bartender goes, Chloe was one of the best servers I've ever had and was constantly checking on us while waiting 6 different tables, not to mention she's gorgeous. We had heard good things about this new location so when we were in the area we decided to head on in! The word is definitely out this location and it was a 35-40 minute wait, but they take your phone number and you can wait in your car if you're more comfortable doing that than on the patio. They do have a server that comes out to offer to take a drink order! Our wait was about on target for the time they gave us, and we were seated inside at a booth / table along the wall. Our server was very friendly and came over quickly. We had looked over the menu while we waited outside, so we were ready to order as soon as she came over. I recommend doing this too as it can take a bit of time for food to come out with how busy it is. Food was good and they have a solid kid's menu offering. I had the Shepard's Pie Boxty, which was really good! They have an extensive drink menu with tons of options also. All servers and staff were wearing masks, and they are observing social distancing with 50% capacity and distanced table spacing. So an Irish Pub opened up next to where I live. Not good. AND, this Irish Pub is literally walking distance from where I love. Even worse. Irish pubs are my jam. I don't know why. I'm Mexican. But I think fish 'n' chips might just be one of my favorite things on the planet. So I came here in celebration of my birthday. So many different seating options, from the bar to normal seats to high tops to booths to outdoor tables to an indoor/outdoor bar area. The interior of this place is very eclectic and nice to look at. My table orders three things to eat and just shares everything. First thing's first, the Legendary Boxty (Three boxtys served with horseradish sauce, pub cheese, and our spicy car bomb sauce). Boxties were a good size, they were warm all the way through, and there was good seasoning throughout. You don't need to dip these. If you want to, however, horseradish always sucks, the pub cheese is a-ok, and the car bomb sauce is very peppery. Be careful with it. I loved it, but that pepper catches you off guard. Solid app option. Next came the wings, 10 traditional. I honestly forgot what flavor I got, I'm sorry about that, maybe it was BBQ. Regardless, what was interesting it that I was expecting wet wings, but I got a dry rub. Not complaining. I like dry rubs, and these wings were very good. But just a heads up for you. Some chains have bad wings. These were not bad wings. Finally, the main event, the Irish 31 Fish & Chips (Fresh cod battered in our Black & Tan beer batter, then fried golden brown and served with steak-cut French fries, tartar, and fresh lemon). This was very good. The cod was cooked very nicely, and so were the chips. The only thing was that the fish got a little soggy on the outside on the bottom. But hey, it was a busy night. I'm sure they were in a hurry. I finished off my birthday celebration with a Reese's Peanut Butter Pie (A light and creamy filling with Reese's peanut butter, topped with Reese's peanut butter cups and finished with chocolate and whipped cream). This tastes exactly how you're imagining. It was very good. Overall, this place was absolutely fine. If you want to try out an Irish pub, come here, get your good beer, get your fish 'n' chips, and make sure you come on a Tuesday night. They have trivia on Tuesday nights. I came in second place. We came here on a Friday night during happy hour and was surprised to see it was not very busy despite a packed parking lot. Luckily that meant we were seated right away and were able to pick our own table. Our server was polite and greeted us quickly. She helped us select beverages, too. My fiancé got the Jalapenlo Mule and I got one of the summer beverages- I cannot remember the name but it was a citrus-based cocktail and it was delicious! For an appetizer, we shared the loaded boxtys. Super delish! For dinner, I had the whiskey salmon, my fiancé & our friend had the Pie of the Shepherd, and our other friend had the whiskey chicken. The entrees were okay but nothing to write home about. Why 3 stars? Honestly, the food and the atmosphere left something to be desired and the prices were high for what it was... Guys night out for a few beers turned into many laughs, cuz Tuesday was Trivia night. What I like about Irish 31 is how clean it is, spacious, good beer selection, and lots of TVs so everyone can watch their team. Victoria was our server. She was attentive and helpful, highly recommend. Four stars only because my favorite meal (bangers and mash) is no longer available. Started out with hummus as an appetizer which came served with pita bread and fresh cucumber on the side. A great choice and would recommend if you are looking for a healthy option. For entree items, I decided to go for a classic Irish shepherds pie dish which on their menu is called the "shepherds pie boxty" and I absolutely loved it! I didn't know what to expect as I have never tried any type of shepherds pie dish before but I am pleased to say what I ordered was amazing! The best way to describe this dish is that you get three crispy flaked Shepherds pie balls served with a gravy sauce on the side. I really appreciate the add on of the gravy as it complemented the flavor of the meal nicely. As a first time customer at Irish 31, I would most definitely say I would come back for the shepherds pie boxty specifically as it was that good. My boyfriend went with the "31 burger" served with chips and from the glaze of what I got of it, it looked appetizing! The burger came out cooked the way he asked (medium) and the chips had a nice crunch to them that left you wanting more. I was so excited to try this place, but I was a little disappointed. It was more like a UCF sports bar than an Irish Pub. They did not have what my husband was craving, corned beef and cabbage. My husband and I decided to drive out to Oviedo to check out Irish 31. They opened several days ago to much fanfare. The pictures were promising and the menu looked tasty. When we arrived there was a wait because they were practicing social distancing and limited to 50 percent capacity. During our wait we made friends with another customer and the time flew by. Once we were seated things moved quickly. Hannah was our waitress and she provided excellent service. I definitely will request her on return visits. To start we ordered 10 wings ($12.50), pub cheese boxty ($5.00), Shepard's pie boxty ($5.00) and a loaded boxty. ($5.00) The wings were cooked well and sprinkled with 31 Whiskey seasoning. They taste delicious and we will order them again. Out of the three boxty appetizers we both enjoyed the pub cheese boxty the most. The pub cheese mixed with the horseradish sauce popped with flavor. We shared the fish and chips ($14.00) and thought that it was a bit overcooked and oily. The fish was fresh but the battered took on the taste of oil. We finished with coffee, bread pudding ($6.50)and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. ($2.00) The bread pudding was good ...not great. It mostly taste of plain bread and needed the ice cream to flavor it up. Overall we loved the restaurant and thought that it was a great first week experience. Why I don't make shepherds pie at home is beyond me, luckily I have Irish 31 to go to.. I couldn't help myself when ordering, I think I'll try the fish and chips next time. The Shepard's pie was quite delicious. Just a little salt and pepper to make it legendary. It comes out very hot, w the cheese melted over like a bowl of French onion soup. I started to fill up when I was only halfway through! My drink refills were quick. The staff were very attentive and professional. My only issue is the price, I believe it was $14, which seems a little high, but it is good quality. It was a bit loud and busy on a Sunday afternoon, it has a sports bar kinda vibe and I think a game was playing... Brand new Irish pub in Oviedo. Its grand opening just the other day. My son and I walked right in shortly afternoon. It was already pretty busy- and all members of the staff were diligently wearing their masks. Also, every other table was open to keep the distance between patrons. Plenty of good food to choose from, pot pie, shepherds pie, etc. I stuck with my go-to Irish dish: Bangers and Mash. It was amazing! The gravy was so creamy and wonderful. The potatoes melt in your mouth and the sausage was delicious- could use a wee bit of spice, if it were up to me. ($14) The boy ordered his go-to dish: fish and chips. He loved the fish, perfectly crisp breading and the fish tasted yummy. The fries were nicely seasoned and piping hot. He couldn't finish it all. ($14). We then took home an order of bread pudding and after dinner later the same night, my son couldn't get enough of it. ($6.50). A gentleman even came by to offer a taste of their house whiskey. Irish 31 was a really great sports bar experience! The staff was very friendly and the food and drinks were better than expected! We loved the atmosphere and how many TVs there were in there. The Whiskey Chicken dish was REALLY good! There's a huge TV on one of the walls and we were able to watch the Olympics from across the restaurant. Parking is a bit of a challenge because there are a lot of businesses sharing the lot, but we were able to find one near the front. They have outdoor seating as well. My boyfriend and I both ordered the fish and chips for our entree and we ordered the Mac and cheese bites for an app. We had no complaints on the entree and he ate the whole thing! Service was great and they were finishing up trivia when we arrive around 8:30. My only complaint was the Mac and cheese bites. They seemed like just microwaved chicken nuggets. They have really good potential with the sweet Thai chili sauce on top but they weren't my favorite and tasted and looked cheap. Other than that we will probably be back! read more

My husband and I have driven by this past a bazillion times this past year and always said that we need to try them out. Well last night we finally did! It was a beautiful Florida night , so we sat out on the patio at Irish 31. We decided to start out with a legendary boxty. They reminded me of a NY Kanish. These cheesy potato balls were a great appetizer! They come with three different sauces to try, a pub cheese dip, horseradish sauce and "car bomb sauce". The sauces complemented the appetizer perfectly. Our server was friendly and great. We had more than one team member check in on us which I thought was wonderful customer service. My husband and I decided to order The Ruben sandwich with house made chips and a order of their "31 Whiskey sauce wings and some Sweet Chili Thai wings. These wings were phenomenal! They were plump, juicy and had the crunch that we all crave. My husband really liked his Rueben. Our only disappointment is that we didn't discover this place sooner.
