Food wise , it wasn't bad. I've never been here before so i wasn't too familiar with how everything works and i guess i was a little slow with ordering. The server had an attitude, even getting seated the vibes seemed tense and off like we were a burden. There was one attentive worker who seemed to be making his rounds , he was nice and checked in a few times. Covid experience: I wish they offered hand sanitizer at the door, but they take your temperature at the door. I would describe the service as pretty okay for the most part. Their meats were pretty tasty and they offer a good variety of options. I took off a star due to one server. I asked him to change the grill because we had already grilled 4 different typed of meats and it was burned before adding on the steak. He tossed the steak on there anyways and said we'll change it after and just bolted off. It was rude, and of course the steak was wasted and burnt- I suggest they listen to a paying customers request especially because it just resulted in wasted food and time. Aside from the loud ass music, THE FOOD is really good. We came on a Saturday night, had to wait about 35- 40 mins for a table. They only take reservation for groups over 8 people. Korean buffet, all you can grill but only three items at a time with unlimited rice and sides. We went with option B which is $20 per person versus A which is $25 per person and the only difference there is the octopus in option A. Their steam egg is awesome, the seasoning for the meats were OK, nothing exciting. They don't have soup here which is a total bummer. If I could change anything, it would be the loudness of the music that they play. It was very hard to carry on a convo without yelling. Other than that it's pretty decent. Arrived on a Saturday at 7pm and were told a table for 2 people would be 1-1.5 hour wait so we walked over to Lotte to kill some time (table was available in 1 hour 15 minutes) Despite being slammed the servers were extremely attentive. We went with option A and ordered 8 different options. My favorite was i believe the Hawaiian bulgogi.. least favorite garlic pork rib (i think i would've preferred the spicy one instead) but if you are a huge garlic lover that's the way to go! After seeing multiple posts on Facebook and Instagram on this new KBBQ spot, the boyfriend and I had the chance to check it out this past weekend. I'm typically not a fan of AYCE because I don't feel like I ever get my money's worth, but Iron Age's 2 AYCE options (Gogi A for $30/pp and B for $22/pp) left me with a happy belly. We came in around 3:30/4 for "linner" and both went with Gogi B (A has more adventurous items such as intestines, tripe, etc.) which had the typical items such as brisket, pork belly, and bulgogi. We ordered the brisket (hit!), the spicy pork bulgogi (miss!), bulgogi (hit!), and the Iron Age steak (super hit!). I had ordered mixed veggies but it never arrived. Since it's AYCE, the portions of the meat smaller than you would get at other KBBQ establishments. We also ordered steamed eggs (hit, but how would you ever go wrong?) and the bean paste soup (hit!). The banchan was refilled when we asked for it. The service was average... without the bell on the table, we probably would've had to wait forever to get their attention. It was also nice of them to cook our first meat too. (We had to cook the rest of the meat ourselves) After 4 meats and side dishes, we left full and satisfied. It's hard to put this experience in words! If you're looking for a new, interesting way to eat out this is the place for you! The ambience is in between casual and a nice place to dress up and go out to. The lighting is dim outside of all the tables which makes it seem like you're group is off in your own room, but once you sit down the table is illuminated. When we were sat down the table had been set with sauces, plates, chopsticks, and a spoon for each person. Not to mention a salad and assortment of vegetables for the table. Our waitress Ashley was absolutely wonderful! She explained the two menu options and got us drinks in record time. Not to mention that she came by our table several times to check on us, and even helped us cook our food (it was our first time here)! The rest of the staff was super friendly and other employees also checked on us. Cooking the food itself is super easy and just like cooking at home, but time flys when you're having fun so always be careful! The wait time here is also really long so if you plan to come on a Friday or Saturday night come super early (there are no reservations)!! We waited 1 hour and 30 minutes but it was totally worth it! Where can you get the best Korean all you can eat BBQ? Here at iron age! There are so many all you can eat BBQ places in VA, but this one seriously tops them all. It has fresh meat that is grilled on top of charcoal, so you get a real barbecue taste. The interior of this place is very hip and has a real industrial feel. Things are made out of steel and lighting is dim. They have Korean music playing in the background and the have screen projectors that project the music video onto the wall close to the ceiling. So hip and relaxing to come to with a big group of your friends. The food here is delicious. They have two different options for dinner time. They have one option that includes more seafood items, so it costs more. I just got the option with one seafood item (octopus) and other meat choices. The option with one seafood and various meat choices was $22.00 and it had 30 items on the menu. They have lots of meat options, soup, steamed eggs, Korean pancakes, and many more. You even get a dessert at the end of your meal! My favorite meat was the steak. It was sweet and the meat was tender. My next favorite was the garlic pork. Then, beef brisket, and then regular pork. The octopus was my least favorite. There were so many meats to choose from. Can't wait to go and try different types of meat. In terms of service, it was slow and it seemed liked the workers had a lack of care and they were not attentive to our needs. They seemed to all be sitting down or hanging out in big circles just talking away as our food ran out and water disappeared. However, they were friendly and nice people.... Just lazy. I love a nice BBQ experience once every quarter. Yes, Kogiya was tops on my list even though their AYCE option A did not contain any beef. Thanks to a few reviews of Iron Age, we had a chance to discover, indulge and now review! Walking into the place, I'd swear I was into a cool goth club complete with 4 large video screen. There's seating for all party sizes. My only complaint is that their grills are SMALL. I think I read other reviews that may have mentioned that. There's a cool 'service button' that you can press if you want some help but honestly the 'crew' were constantly coming to our table that we never had to use the button. Food- great! Since they only bring out 3 types of meat at one time, the crew made sure that we ordered our next meat while some were cooking. There's a couple of dining options($22/$30), difference is basically ribeye, and possible a few other seafood items that we don't really eat. We tried 3 types of beef, a couple types of pork belly(plain and spicy), and some veggies. There was so much food that we really didn't have the stomach space for chicken or other items. They have a small selection of the banchan but their tossed salad was AH-mazing...yup, had a few portions of that. The egg dish and the pancake were good. Our favorite part of the meal was their variety of spices/sauces. Service- 'crew' is printed on the back of their shirts including their number. Not sure if I would refer to someone as 'excuse me crew #23', but that's how they do it. They bring out the meat, they cut, bring out sides, etc...all similar to other places. Service was great. There were only 2 of us, but I can understand what people are saying about larger groups. The smaller grills can definitely prevent a large party to eat voraciously. This was my very first Korean BBQ experience. My family of four came on a Saturday early evening. My daughter had been before with friends and really prefers Iron Age to HoneyPig and other places. She was the only one of our party who knew what she was doing as far as ordering and selecting the sauces, etc. Iron Age is a hipster type joint- loud with K-Pop blasting in big screens!! Not for a quiet get together or for the old souls. I'm not super adventurous when it comes to Asian cuisine- Chinese and Japanese are usually my only preferences. So I wasn't sure how I'd like it. We got Menu A. Each party can only pick one selection-A or B. Menu A has everything on B plus some extra steak items, shrimp, and octopus. The way the food is cooked is cool. Much of the meat was very fatty. They liked to skimp on the veggies that are also cooked atop the grill. We weren't fans of most of the sauces except the sesame oil and teriyaki. Bigougi was the best flavor for the meats. Server was very rushed and forgetful. Seemed like she wasn't thrilled to be there. There was a free treat at the end. Overall good. Not wonderful but I think if I liked the Korean flavor more, I'd have been kinder with my rating. read more

My experience with Korean food is mostly just the occasional bulgogi sandwich, but I came here with a friend who gave it good reviews. We did the Gogi B menu, which has a ton of meat and seemed to only be missing the more adventurous cuts of meat. We went for a lot of beef and pork dishes. All were very good. A few were minimally prepped and were a little dry, but the variety of sauces were useful here. For fun, I ordered the octopus. I wasn't quite expecting the whole octopus (head and tentacles), but it was satisfying to try something a little outside my dining comfort zone. The ambiance is dark and provides a classy experience. The wait staff was mostly patient with my ignorance of how the whole setup works. It was a fun experience. I'm planning on returning. read more

This is the move when Korean BBQ is on the plate. Super cool, gothic vibes inside with dark walls and booths, fun lights when you look up. Friendly and patient servers/grillers, that ever-present Kpop blasting on the tv's. And all you can eat meat! The most important part. They have two options for dinner and weekends: $20/person or $25/person (weekday lunch is $16). All menus come with unlimited white rice, egg, veggies, sauces, and salad to go with your endless meat. Only a few things missing from the $20 menu like Iron Age Steak and Octopus. I heard lots of good things about the Iron Age Steak, but with some poor planning and way too much beer, we unfortunately didn't get to that. But no complaints here. Everything I had was well seasoned, tender and delicious. Some standouts for me were the beef brisket - thin rolls of marbled beef that we cooked to medium-ish perfection, soy chicken - flavorful and surprisingly super tender chunks of chicken, and pork belly - give me all of the pork belly all of the time. Really delicious food at a decent price as long as you're hungry. Perfect to bring a big group of (hungover?) friends. They have drinks too including soju, Korean wine, liquor, and beer by the tower for only $17. I dig it. read more

We have dined here a couple of times and it's time for a review. Our first visit was great! We came mid-day on a Saturday and service was excellent. We were seated in one of the elevated tables and it was nice to see the action throughout the restaurant. I like the concept of ordering off a list versus walking through a buffet line. The all you can eat option included a variety of beef, chicken, pork, some seafood, and various egg, soup, rice, and veggies. We came for the beef and that's what we enjoyed. I really enjoy the dipping sauces and the salad. The rest of the little appetizers are not too appealing. Services is almost 'self-service'. They don't seem to have enough staff to handle the cooking at each table. So, be prepared to toss, cut and cook your meal. We prefer it that way, but come with that expectation. read more

Let me start off by saying it doesn't look like much on the outside but it's absolutely gorgeous on the inside. When you enter the restaurant it is a very dim lit setting and lots of K-pop playing all around. The food was absolutely wonderful we enjoyed the beef bulgogi, pork steak, spicy chicken, glass noodles, salad, kimchi, and lots more. I felt like the food was well worth it. The price it's only $30 per person and it is all you can eat. My only complaint would have to be that the customer service it's not the best. Not a fan. The way you order and are served isn't traditional. Sometimes breaking the mold can be good. In this case, I prefer the usual order from the menu, then you get the food brought to you fully prepared when it's done. Plus, a nat gas or propane burner right in front of you at your table probably has you breathing in byproducts of the combustion that's occurring. Last time my friends and I went we asked for the spicy soup they had and the server said they never had it . We've been coming here for about a year they had it they always had it. But he wanted to get smart and try to fool us by saying they NEVER had it. That's another thing the service is crap. We my fiancé and I tip well basics off service not percentage bc percentage is sometimes lower from what we think is excellent service. Also if your not Asian or white they don't treat you with great service. My fiancé and I were seated next to two Caucasian males and the server was so attentive with them, but when we would ask for kimchi, salt or even water he'd give us an attitude. When the two Caucasian males left then he was all attentive maybe because he didn't get tipped well, well guess what he was short that night. Service was horrible and tip was horrible. Took 1 hour to get a table at 2pm on Sunday. They are checking temperatures at the door. Despite menus being posted on their website that is not the menu they are using. They are using a different menu in-house. Before there was menu A & B. B was cheaper because it had less options on it, but if you were not the octopus, shrimp, spare rib eater you were fine with menu B. Now you don't have a choice. There is one menu for all, not quite rounded out either. Meat is still not very good. It is loaded with fat. If you are looking for good quality, this is not the place to eat at. They charge like it is high quality cuts, but the meat is very stringy and fatty. The lemon chicken is not very good. They give you way to much spicy pork in comparison to how little bulgogi they give you. Kimchi & japchae were fine. They failed to refill dipping sauces. Apparently coke is not a free refill and only comes in a can. They really needed to put the A/C on since it was 95 degrees and your cooking source is right at the table but for some reason they chose to keep it 80 degrees inside so you were guaranteed to get the meat sweats. read more

This restaurant is hands down one of the best Korean BBQ restaurants I've been to and I've been to many all over the world! The service is great the attentiveness to your meat selections is on point and The sides dishes are plentiful! My favorite are the spicy rice cakes (Yum!) and the green salad. I don't know what kind of salad dressing they put on that salad but it is amazing! This restaurant is very Keto friendly or low carb friendly.
