Pulled Pork Sandwich x Mash & Gravy

This place is tucked beside a brewery so we stopped in for a bite & a beer. The customer service was good. The cashier seemed to invite any questions that we had. I was hungry so I grabbed a double cheeseburger. It was meaty, cheesy & oniony. The flavor wasn't too bad but didn't knock my socks off. The potato salad was good. My partner enjoyed their pulled pork sandwich! They only serve brisket on certain days so here's your heads up! If you can grab a seat close to a heater outside, you're set. They have a nice area to sit around the fire pit as well.

I heard about this place on a local FB group & decided to check it out on a recent visit to AVL. We were super disappointed they were already out of brisket when we got there at 6pm! The pulled pork was OUTSTANDING! macaroni salad was very good, but everyone loved the mashed potatoes & gravy! The burger was one of the best burgers i've ever had with the smokiness of the bbq. Maybe one day we'll luck out & get the brisket!

This place is a gem. Cute little brewery with a bbq stand out back. This time I went on Thursday & got their famous brisket. Big portion, great sides, AND they have Alabama White Sauce which is my jam. This place is a must try if you like brisket or pulled pork.

After an adventurous day we stopped by Iron and Oak Brisket for an early dinner. Seating outside was comfortable as we were able to find a shady spot. We ordered a brisket platter with slaw and BBQ hash browns and a pulled pork platter with slaw and gravied mashed potatoes. Our food arrived in a few minutes and it was delicious. I would recommend Iron and Oak Brisket Co.

I popped in 15 minutes before close and the staff were friendly and helpful--kudos! The vibe was "rustic hang." My order was two dogs plus sides to go. Those sides were most excellent, with a special shoutout to Dad's Mashies. Beware the brisket chili side ($1 add-on)--it's spicy! Food came out quick, thank you. I will be back!

OK - this is an update. I ate at Iron & Oak last week but they were out of brisket so we had their pulled pork, brisket chili and hamburger. As I said last time; "we have had a lot of pulled pork throughout Asheville and have to say this is probably the best! The chili was good as was the burger but the pulled pork was the highlight." When I went back I made sure to get there when they opened and was able to get the brisket and ribs. And I have to say that I finally found the best BBQ in Asheville. The brisket reminded me of Franklin's in Austin - simply the best - tender and not dried out with so much flavor. The ribs also did not disappoint and for me also rated also as some of the best I have had. So at the end of the day; Iron & Oak Brisket is by far the best BBQ in Asheville, and I would say, one of the best in the country.

I stopped in my first day and got the LT sandwich, which was amazing, but I ended up spending almost as much time looking around the store as I did eating. They have everything from local mustards and honey to tinned fish, seasonings, and a whole section from a local creamery with ice cream, yogurt, smoothies, etc. Everything seems thoughtfully picked out and locally sourced when possible, without having the ridiculous prices you sometimes expect from a place like this. The staff was also amazing--genuinely friendly, helpful, and happy to talk about the food and everything they carry. I liked the place enough that, despite having an entire city of restaurants I'd never tried before, I came back the very next day. This time I got the grinder, which ended up being my favorite, along with the roast beef, which was also delicious. Between the sandwiches, the people, and the frankly ridiculous amount of good shit packed into the store, everything about this place was great. There are plenty of places I didn't get a chance to try while I was in Asheville, but I have absolutely no regrets using two lunches on this one. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town. Shoutout to one of the owners- Patty- goes out of his way to take care of customers

I think everything is made in house and it tastes like it. As their name states, they make gourmet potato chips with varying, over-the-top flavors ranging from salt and balsamic vinegar to ones topped with brown sugar, bacon and chocolate. Between the 12 of us we tried Salt & Vinegar, The Corsica, Southern BBQ and The Italiano. I had the Italiano Panini and The Nori chips. Both were totally delicious. The panini came out hot and gooey. The bread tasted great and the chips were so unique and surprising. I will say that they drizzled a little too much red chili aioli sauce. It was very thick and flavorful. However, after a few bites it was too much so I wiped off some of the sauce. But it was really good, and inventive. Everything is fresh and made to order so it did take us a while to get all of our food, given that we were a large group. They told us before we even sat and we still wanted to try it, so that no big deal. And I will say this. Our table was the last to get served and the food was amazing. Sometimes at restaurants the standards fall when they get busy and that DID NOT happen here. They served great dish after great dish. Bags of chips are available for purchase as well. I'm totally kicking myself that I didn't get some to take home. Gourmet Chip is an Asheville gem!

They sell both pre-packaged bags as well as fresh-made chips to eat in-house. So naturally we tried both! Their Salt & 3 Vinegar chips were delicious. Perfect for an afternoon snack as you're exploring downtown. We ended up taking home some of their truffle chips, which were also tasty. My only complaint was that they needed salt. Not sure if they put less salt on because you can always add more, but they were so much better once we sprinkled some in the bag and shook. They also have sandwiches here - didn't get to try one on our visit, but they looked tasty. Good stop both for a meal as well as a snack.
