First time using movers and I'm VERY impressed. These guys got the job done quickly and professionally while taking all the precautions possible to protect my stuff. I have many great things to say about them, but I want to start with costs. Financially, this is a no-brainer. Just to get a U-haul to move my own stuff it would have come out to $115 after all taxes fees, mileage, gas (that was the exact cost of my last move with a U-haul, and then add to that lots of exertion from myself and my friends). And that would have been without a dolly, blankets, shrink wrap or anything. These guys are professional movers used the maneuvering things in difficult circumstances. They brought the truck, wrapped up all sensitive items in shrink wrap and blankets, used dollies and push carts to move things quickly, and did all the moving themselves so that I just had to make sure things were going in the right places. They even took my TV off the wall, took apart my bed, and put everything back together and in place when I got to my new place. Total cost? $287 and ZERO STRESS on my end. Best part, almost as soon as they left, my whole place was set up and ready for use, minus unpacking and organizing of course. How much time had passed? 2.5 hours. If anyone argues that it makes more sense to move alone and not use movers, I'd like to understand how they calculate that. On top of that, when I had talked with the owner, Abner, to organize the move, he gave me a rundown of the costs and time windows and what they would do. He said they would take apart and put together furniture, and would even take my TV and mount down, which was helpful because I don't have a drill and I am only one person. When I asked if he would be able to mount the TV at the new place, he said he doesn't usually do that because of the liability of messing with someone's wall, but that he could do it if I wanted because he has all the necessary tools. Since I had personally mounted a TV several times, I was comfortable with using his help to get it done right after the move. Abner came himself with his drill and other troops and we put the TV on the wall. He also gave me some cool travel recommendations. After careful review of several movers, we selected Houston Iron-Back Movers for our move from Lake Jackson, TX to Kerrville, TX. We asked for an early start to the day to allow the crew to pack everything into the truck, complete the five hour drive to our self-storage units in Kerrville, and to unload the truck before sunset. Abner agreed to a 6-7AM arrival and the crew arrived at 0640. Christian was the lead for our crew and performed above expectations. We paid for a three person crew, but Abner, the owner, added an extra crew member at no additional cost to us to ensure the move was completed in one day. The truck was loaded efficiently and the crew worked virtually non-stop. They were considerate and friendly. They took the time to carefully wrap and protect our furniture. As far as we can tell, there was no damage to our furniture. The final validation will be when we move out of self-storage into our new home. We will update this review or submit a new one when the move is completed. There were a couple of issues or surprises which Abner quickly addressed after the move. One was the crew adding an additional $60 to the move due to using more shrink wrap than expected. Christian stated the move would be fixed price when he started, so we were surprised with the additional fee at the end. When we brought this to Abner's attention after the move, he refunded the additional cost. The other issue was a 6-8" gouge in the wooden floor in our master bedroom that we noticed when we returned home. It appeared to be caused when moving a chest of drawers. I would have expected the movers to bring this to our attention. They claimed after the move that it was pre-existing. If it was pre-existing, we would have noticed it before the move since the gouge extended from the front right foot of the chest of drawers. Overall we were more than satisfied with choosing Houston Iron-Back Movers for our move. We were hoping for the best and they exceeded our expectations. I will start this review by saying that I have never written a Yelp review in my life - that is how impressed with this company. I also know how hard it is to find good movers so I hope people run across this review and choose this company. We were moving from a two story house to another two story house about 10 miles away. We have a lot of heavy and awkward furniture that we were concerned about moving based on previous bad experiences with different movers. We contacted Iron Back about a two weeks in advance and got a 3 man crew who was supposed to show up between 8-10. On the day of the move they showed up about 30 minutes late, BUT to make up for it they showed up with two extra guys and were extremely apologetic. Once the crew did a survey of everything these guys WENT TO WORK. They were smart, fast, and efficient. They wrapped and secured all of our belongings tightly and were able to move everything with zero issue. The move took some time simply because we had a lot of stuff, but if it was not for the efforts of these guys it would have taken much longer. When moving into our new house they paid attention to the labels on everything, put everything where it was supposed to go, and there was minimal dings, scratches, etc. I particularly want to point out Juan, Noel, and Eliulu (sp?) for their great work. Again, these guys worked very hard for us and it was much appreciated. They were attentive, organized, and had great attitudes. They took their job seriously and obviously knew what they were doing. I cannot recommend these three guys enough. It made our move that much easier. I also felt like the cost was in line with the work that was done. They have done an excellent job of moving from the beginning of initial contact, getting quotes, setting up the move date, and the actual move. Abner was very responsive in returning emails and answering phone calls. The most important thing about moving is "moving". 3 guys came on time and moved the boxes we packed and pick up the items we pointed. They are paid by the hours. If you want to save some money, you can pack in boxes (large or small) and leave on the floor and separate "to-be" moved items from not moving items (to avoid asking you constantly since 3 guys are simultaneously working in different rooms in our case). If you have refrigerators and bookshelves or items to be protected (TV's), they saran wrap them. It was a perfect move to the new house we built (all wooden floor) but we had a small hole on the wall. Abner arranged the paint person and came to the house on the day I was off and patched/painted the hole. No problem at all. Most impressive thing is that the owner, Abner, came with the handyman to observe the work and to make sure that I am satisfied. This is unheard of. Overall, this company executed my move fabulously and when there was a minor issue, they addressed the problem professionally. Looking back my move, some unexpected things may happen and will happen because we are human. But the most important thing is that when that happen, how do companies handle the situation? This is the review I gave to another moving company, and apparently, for my job, Abner from Iron-Back Movers worked with the guys I hired. Ok, I'm just like everyone else. I don't move things often and so, don't have too much experience using a moving service. So I've actually called more than a handful companies before I got to Roberto and Abner at Prestige, and let me tell you, here's how I know why they're better. 1. When I called, HE actually answered. Not a receptionist. Not a person scheduling. The actual person. I do know how services like moving works and given he himself is in charge, I've asked him all the questions and he had all the answers. 2. My case was a bigger job. So it made sense for him and his team to come and take a look. He and I took a quick walkaround my place in just 10 minutes, he gave me a good number on what I am looking at. Great, some guy that is honest. No hidden fees. 3. So we hired them. He came with 6 guys. On-time. And these guys WORKED. You can tell that after a while, there's just no way we normal unathletic civilians can do what they do. They have all the tools. They have all the tips/tricks/shortcuts to do what they do. And like I said, they worked! And guess what, they actually finished the job sooner and adjusted my budget appropriately. More than fair, and I love these guys. Friend of ours recommended Iron-Back Movers. I spoke to Abner and he was up front, professional, and to the point. They beat every other moving company's prices that we talked to by at least $25/hr. They didn't start the clock 'til they started moving the first piece of furniture and they stopped the clock whenever we said the move was done (this is in case you need them to assemble any furniture or anything else). Abner's son, Enrique, and a crew of 2 other young men arrived within the allotted time slot I was given and since we moved the majority of the smaller things ourselves, they promptly emptied out our loft, followed us to our storage unit for some bedroom furniture, and then to our final destination. Enrique kept in constant communication the entire time and I never once felt they were milking the clock. They charge significantly less than 5 other companies I called (all well known in Houston, TX) and their trip charge was only $25 as well. Oh. My. Gosh. I've never hired movers before last weekend and now thanks to Iron-Back Movers, I'm never doing anything myself ever again. I reached out to 8 different moving companies via Yelp and Abner was: 1. The first to respond 2. The only one to continue communicating past normal office hours 3. The only one to offer the lowest prices These guys do not dilly-dally. They worked hard and fast and made sure everything was protected. They were bookin' it! My mom needed to move out of her house in 4 days notice while not taking off from her full time job. Abner and his partner came over and packed boxes, loaded every piece of furniture (mom had a lot of big furniture), then dropped furniture off at 3 different houses. It took 5 hours total, but if everything was already boxed up before they got there, then it would have easily been under 3 hours even still going to 3 different houses. And we only hired 2 movers, it would have been even less time if we hired 3 movers. These guys are amazing. The best. Plus they have a good sense of humor which always helps the stress of moving. Abner from Iron-Back Movers responded promptly and professionally to our request for last minute move during the Memorial Day seasonal rush. He sent the excellent two man team of Jairo and Orlando. They arrived early, knew how to pack, and brought the right materials to complete the job. I had several items that were delicate family heirlooms that I wanted to move myself. Both men took care to look for the items, set them aside, and then load them in my car for personal transport. I was alone at the storage facility while my husband waited at the new house, but I was completely comfortable because they were both very professional and considerate. I was impressed with the way they were careful with every item. When we got to the house my husband saw them running (yes, actually running) to get the job done in the least amount of time. At the end of the move I offered them a beer, but all they would accept was cold water. This is a great organization, it is well managed and Abner hires stellar employees. Now I usually don't do this, but Iron-Back Movers are just awesome so I had to leave this review. The crew I had was Christian's. Not only was his crew great, the professionalism and courtesy they showed has been unmatched in the moving industry. Compared to previous movers I've had, these guys are the Lebron James of movers. . As soon as the movers arrived they did a quick introduction and walkthrough . They explained how they were going to get all the rooms loaded up. They even did some last minute packing for me. They shrink wrapped and padded all the furniture before loading it. The quality of service and efficiency they showed was A+. They don't take breaks, they don't goof off or take their time to make the move longer. They literally get there and get to work. You would think that's a given, but it's not. Trust me I've had some terrible moving experiences. So, if you're looking for a moving company that's not going to damage any of your belongings, gets down to business, and makes you feel like you can just step back and relax, these are the movers for you. We had originally ordered a shipping container through PODS, but as our moving date approached we realized the arrangement with the shipping container wasn't going to work for us. I called Abner of Houston Iron-Back movers that day and he gave me a quote and final price in short order. It wasn't the cheapest offer I had, but the existing reviews and his explanation of their moving process won me over in short order. The day of the move, they arrived on time with a full crew. We started at 8:30 and by 10:30 the truck was loaded and the doors closed. They move fast but they didn't break anything and safely wrapped all our furniture for transit, including valuables like a bike and our TV. The day of arrival they again showed up within minutes of their estimate, despite it being a thousand-mile move, and the two movers on delivery got our stuff out and into the apartment within an hour and a half. Very easy to schedule an appointment with Abner through Yelp, up front with prices. I asked him for a 2 man crew, but a 3 man crew showed up because the move prior to mine that morning asked for 3. All three men worked diligently and I was still charged the agreed to 2-man rate. When the movers got to my apartment for the move, it was pouring down rain. They patiently waited in their truck for an hour for the rain to stop, and I did not get charged the wait time. I had Thomas, Miguel, and Carlos for my move. The movers are very professional and know what they are doing: used saran wrap and towels around every large piece of furniture, not a single scratch on anything. They took care with each and every piece of furniture, and asked questions about what to take and where to put everything. They also quickly disassembled my bed and reassembled it in the apartment quickly without any problems. We decided to use this company for a move from a storage location to a second floor apartment about 1 block away. The decision was based on price and reviews. The communication from the jump was over the top great! Mostly done via yelp messaging, every question was replied to in less then 3 to 4 minutes. Upon arrival, they were about 30 minutes late due to traffic. Two guys went to work getting things moved as if they were on a mission to get the job done within my two hour minimum. I didn't think it was possible and had already budgeted for 3 hours. Just as they were getting down to the last of the items in the storage locker, two other from the company showed up to help out at no additional cost. Wow! Once at the apartment, they unloaded, moved everything up to 2nd floor via a freight elevator, wheeled everything down a 650 ft. Hallway, and set everything up within that 2 hour window! We unpacked over the next two days and can report ZERO damage, not even a scratch. Good company, hardworking, nice people and just honest! read more

All I can say is AMAZING!!!! I've called on Iron- Back mover 3 times and each time I've gotten excellent service the guys are very professional and they took great care of our belongings, the last time I used them I called last minutes and asked to see if they could work me inn on the same day and they did! I mean I can't say enough good things about them, on my last move one of my tv's was damaged accidentally. I spoke to the owner about what had happen and he showed up at my home within a day with a brand new tv same size and brand( 55" Samsung) to replace my damaged tv. Wow! The BEST Movers in Houston! This is the second time I've hired Iron-Back Movers, and the never cease to impress. The first time, it was when I moved my business. They were fast, efficient, and were so careful to make sure everything was wrapped properly and moved without damaging anything. We then moved houses, last week, and hired them again. They sent two trucks, and four guys (Eliu, Juan, Jairo, and Nelson) and our move was a breeze! They arrived early, worked fast, and took the time to ensure that everything was handled with care. When we arrived at the new house, they took the time to protect my new floor, and made sure that every box was in the correct room.
