First time there. Sad that they have a outside eating area and it is NOT a dog friendly business. Went in and ordered the Pizza and sat in my truck and took it home. I was actually surprised that in the village of Big Timber MT...ranch country... that you wont allow dogs outside. I had my service dog but I had the little dog too that is NOT a service dog so I was shutdown cold! There were a couple of cowgirls that looked like they just got off the ranch that went in with the bottom of there jeans covered in a greenish colored dirty dusty look. Like the were riding horses and cleaned the barn and then came to town. Oh no...no clean arse dogs outside though, horse poo poo OK. The Pizza was great! The gentleman that took the order was very nice as well. I would have given 5 stars but when you have a outside area that is accessible from the outside and dont allow dogs you lose a star! read more

Clean and modern restaurant with friendly staff. We were looking for a late lunch when passing through town. Our first choice was closed, so we had to do some research. The menu and reviews looked promising so we decided to give it a try. The Million Dollar BLT was tasty and the focaccia was very nice. The Spinach Salad had good blackberries on it. Absolutely great food. I was traveling through and stopped in for lunch. I got a small supreme, well done. Crust was crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside- perfect. I also got a garden salad. Veggies were fresh, ranch was homemade and this was a really good salad. Service was friendly and attentive. I would definitely recommend this place. They also have a wide variety of other "fancy" salads that looked really good at another table. Best meal I've had in a long time. read more

I was recently in Big Timber and some friends picked up some pizzas from Iron Star for lunch. I'm originally from New York and let's just say I've got very high standards for how a pizza should be. Where I now live in Texas it has been nearly impossible to find anything that even compares to what I grew up with. Well I took my first bite of this pizza, and it was like being transported to my childhood. Perfectly chewy yet thin crust, tons of cheese and the iconic grease that makes a good pizza!! I was more than thrilled and added it to my growing list of things to love about Montana. Only regret is that I didn't have it again during my trip, but I will be back as soon as I can!! Nothing short of incredible. Really. This was the best food we ate on our entire trip to Montana and Wyoming. Our table split 3 pizza amongst 12+ people and I got a personal prosciutto margherita pizza. Everyone was pleased and it was delicious. We all WISHED we had more room to keep eating. Ordered while passing through because of the positive reviews. My issues were: I asked for only cucumbers and tomatoes on my salad. I was given other items on my salad I didn't want ie: mushrooms and it changed the taste of the entire salad. Yuck then I asked for dressing on the side and apparently was charged $1 for that. Next: when I picked up my slice of pizza it was literally dripping in grease. DRIPPING!! Gross! Then I asked for green peppers and my pizza had giant slices of green peppers. Who wants to eat huge slices of peppers on their pizza? Not me. It was over priced, super greasy, and not worth the stop. They read this review so they reached out offering a few excuses saying the meat is greasy this time of year, and said they would send a gift card. Month later I never received it so contacted them telling them I never received it... And this was their response: You should probably leave the United States Post Office a disappointing review and not recommend them to your friends for them not getting your mail to you. Was very disappointed in the hidden charges and the way the server offered things as if they were included, but were not. To order a sandwich and ask if you would like fries, chips or onion rings and then ask if you would like ranch with that. One would assume these are options that already come with the meal. We were charged an additional charge for onion rings and an additional charge for ranch. I ordered a salad and asked if I could have a little more dressing and was charged for that too. As a customer I would like to be informed of extra charges so I can make a decision, not be surprised by the extra $5 to my bill. read more

We visit Iron Star Pizza every time we visit Big Timber. Great customer service. Last time we were in town it was during COVID-19 and we wanted to support local so we ordered some pizzas and salad. Road trip! Passing through town and pizza sounded super good. This place did not disappoint. I wasn't in the kitchen to know for sure but the veggies tasted like they were just picked from a farm around the corner and cut up for my pizza right then. Super good and very flavorful. Their 15" could definitely feed a family of 4. I know since I am traveling with a family of 4 and we have a half a pizza left. Don't worry I am taking the left overs. Kids love cold pizza and I can just tell this pizza will be just as tasty in a few hours. I got the supreme for the record. The place is nice and clean and they also have a nice out side patio. Really enjoyed the pizza I had for lunch this week at Iron Star. I had been riding a motorcycle in the rain all day when I stopped in to warm up and have some lunch. Not a lot of choices in the area so was happy to see fellow Yelper's loving Iron Star. It did not disappoint. Jenna was busy taking care of the lunch rush but saw to everyone, kept my ice tea refilled in a timely fashion. Best of all, the three meat pizza was excellent. Love that they take Apple Pay. This is a restaurant that produces sandwiches and pizzas that are a delicious. With the great atmosphere and food there are some downsides. The food is kind of pricey and can take time. Also the hot wings can clear your system (that can be good or bad depending on who you are) read more

Pizza was just okay. My issue is more with the service. My husband and I got a pizza to go. Went in to pay and pick up and decided we wanted to eat there since they had outdoor dining and there was literally only 2 other people there. The lady at the counter told us that they didn't have any paper plates and that they couldn't give us plates to use while we were eating there per "owners policy" (even though there was a huge stack of clean ones behind her and the people outside were using some) and even before they boxed up the pizza. The group I was with had to a make a pit-stop in Big Timber due to 60-75 mph winds and whiteout conditions on I-90. We showed up right as the place was about to close, but they were kind enough to let us sit down, order, and eat. The supreme pizza was delicious and is loaded with a ton of fresh vegetables. Well I love a good road trip. I am from the Seattle area and am heading to Boston just for fun. Making the trip in about four bites is about 750 miles per day for four days. Logistically the only reason I stopped in big timber is because it matched that criteria. When I got to my hotel room I just did a yelp search on food in the area hoping that something was open. I noticed the iron Starr pizza company had great reviews so I went and gave it a try. I have to tell you I just can't believe this place is in big timber Montana, not that there's anything wrong with the town it's really nice here, but this place is ready for the big city. That pizza was absolutely the best I ever had in my life as odd as that sounds. Once in a while you get lucky and just stumble into something that's really really good and this was it. What a pleasure to stumble upon this gem on our western vacation! We needed gas and food for the kids and exited at Big Timber thinking we'd find drive through food.
