They have a variety of bagels, my favorite the Asiago, my husband's the jalapeño cheddar which we always get as egg sandwiches and they are delicious! Staff is friendly and welcoming. Very clean, staff is always wiping down tables and counters. Sunday mornings tends to be on the busy sides so be prepared to wait a little bit, but its well worth it. read more

I can't believe I've been living in Bloomfield and hadn't heard of Isaac's Cafe. I stumbled upon it while I was trying to go to the Urgent Care. Their bagels were great and so reasonably priced. They had a long list of egg sandwiches, deli sandwiches and paninis, as well as a large selection of bagels, muffins and danishes. There were a bunch of people sitting in the restaurant eating sit down breakfast meals, but i couldn't find that menu. It'd be helpful if they made that more prominent. Their breakfast sandwiches were really good - everything was fresh and cooked perfectly. They also have hash brows you can order, all to go! Looking forward to going back here more often! read more

Isaac's is everything that you want in a bagel shop. Clean and cozy inside, Good coffee and the Today show on tv. Friendly owner and staff working happily. Very good prices and a nice variety. I ordered the jalapeno cheddar bagel with egg and cheese. The bagel had a crunchy exterior and just left just the right amount of heat on your lips without over powering the bagel. Regulars came in and were greeted by name but by no means did I feel like an outsider. Fresh muffins and other goodies were on display. There was ample parking and seating including a cozy corner with a little fireplace. I will gladly return when in the area. Glad other Yelpers check ins helped me find this place. read more

The smallish Oy Vey Bagel Cafe has been re-imaged as a new, modern and much larger establishment. Now owned by Isaac, the namesake of the popular convenience store next door, the newly opened Isaac's Bagel Cafe is a smash hit. They do a brisk bagel business in the mornings, both of the eat-in and carry out variety. Very good selection of bagels and pastries. Lots of different cream cheeses. Lots of breakfast sandwiches. Lots of deli sandwiches for lunch. We stopped in for breakfast a few Saturdays ago and it was very nice- a good crowd enjoying the new tables and chairs and booths, a slamming breakfast business, and smiling Isaac overseeing the works. Two fresh, hot delicious breakfast sandwiches and 2 coffees for abour $10!! One more things- it's nice how they dedicate a part of the dining room to the Veterans who regularly congregate there in the morning- honoring our servicemen is a really nice touch. They have quite an eclectic crowd- UHa students, lots of Bloomfield's finest, commuters, and the old-timers. read more

Solid jalapeño cheddar, at a good price (a little more pricey than bagel chalet and about even with brook side) but you can get a full selection for lunch and other to go items while you're there. A pretty okay bagel, but better than most that you'll get in this area (though, to be fair, I haven't tried *all* of them). The real test is a plain, untoasted, with nothing on it (early in the day, of course). That had a little flavor on the outside, but nothing more to it than that. I also got an everything with veggie cream cheese, toasted, and it was great (hard to mess that one up). I got a pastry to go-- a cheese danish. I wonder if they make them themselves. It had that very... I don't know, "supermarket" texture to it. It wasn't crispy and flaky the way an in-house pastry feels. It had that multi-zig-zag icing pattern that made me think it wasn't in-house. So I can't blame them for it not impressing me too much, but I'm sure it will do the trick for someone. If you're looking for something in-house, do what I wish I did and just ask what has been made in-house. Staff is very nice-- the guy helping me was upbeat, and the owner was smiling and talking to customers, handing out orders himself. This is the kind of place that has a lot of "regulars", and for good reason! Customers looked happy to be there and to see the people behind the counter, and vice versa. read more

I'm scared to give a good review to Isaac's because if I do, I'd be letting y'all in on the best secret in Bloomfield. I have been coming to Isaac since moving here fifteen years ago. Each time I come I'm never disappointed. Mr. Isaac is like an old friend that your happy to see and his food and service embody that. The bagels are always fresh, and tasty. Get it toasted with extra butter and I promise you, you won't want anything else. The sandwiches are top notch and you can get them on any flavor bagel, croissant or hard roll. Get there early because the bagels literally fly off of the shelves. They also do amazing omelettes as well as a Belgian waffle. The coffee is always fresh and hot and there are other treats to discover while your there. My children say "dad there's the bagel place" whenever we ride by and I credit that to the exceptional service and high quality food from this place. This place is a hidden little gem for good, simple breakfast food. I wish that I lived closer by because then I would come here way more often! Their prices are relatively inexpensive and the taste of the food is superb, you really won't be disappointed. My favorite is the classic egg, sausage, and cheese bagel sandwich. I was pretty amazed by the wide selection of bagels. I went with the Rosemary olive oil bagel which tasted delicious with the sausage, egg, and cheese. Dan S, the Mayor of our local Yelp group posted a very positive review of this place and when I was running some errands in the area recently I knew I had to try it. I love breakfast. I love eggs and I really like good bagels. This place has it all going on. It's a friendly, neighborhood type of joint and on a Thursday morning at 8am it had a steady stream of customers from people on their way to work to a couple of older guys getting hot chocolate on a steamy summer morning (supporting my notion that aging makes you chilly) to people picking up a dozen to take home. They have a pretty vast breakfast selection for a "bagel place". If you dine in your food actually comes on a plate! With a slice of fruit!! They also have a bunch of sandwiches for lunch. I am always fond of a cheese bagel and when I saw that they had several to choose from (cheddar everything, cheddar onion, asiago and more) I opted for 2 fried eggs with cheese on a cheddar onion. It really hit the spot as did the various bottles of hot sauce to choose from (Frank's for me). That's the only thing I ordered and it was good enough that I know I will return. Bagel was fresh as could be and super tasty, just the perfect blend of cheddar and dough. The egg whites were fluffy, the sausage was thin and crisp not greasy, the cheese was quality and the avocado was fresh. A very nice little bagel shop. I stopped by on a recent Sunday to get some breakfast. Service was prompt though having an Apple Pay sticker on the door and then not being able to pay with it seemed a little odd. But whatever. You come here for bagels. Quite good overall. My issue is that the everything bagel was a little too heavy on the garlic for my taste. This is a preference thing so if you don't mind the garlic, the bagel was quite good. But with the egg, bacon and cheese sandwich, it just kind of overpowered it. What I liked though is that the egg is cooked on a grill, not a microwave and the bacon was crispy without being overcooked or dry. Good coffee as well. read more

I really enjoyed Isaacs and it's atmosphere. Most bagel shops in this area are not as sit down friendly, efficient or clean as Isaacs. Their bagel flavor selection was unmatched and the atmosphere was incredibly welcoming. I ordered an egg and cheese on a jalapeño cheddar bagel. The bagel was phenomenal. I like the it actually had a little kick to it which complemented the egg. I do wish that they put two eggs in their sandwiches because I felt the bread to egg ratio was a bit off, but for the price it was a great deal. read more
