Isabella's is a neighborhood hangout that serves the usual fare of pizza, calzones, sandwiches, wings, and beer. We usually get Custom Deluxe with pepperoni, mushrooms, sausage, onions, green and banana peppers. It has a great flavor but always seems like it needs to stay in the oven for an extra 5 to cook through the middle. I am sure all the extra toppings are the issue. Either way, it is a decent pie. Also, any of the phillies or loaded subs are good with their hot chips. Tonight we opted for the white pizza. It usually comes with broccoli, mozzarella, cheddar cheeses, and chicken but they let us swap for sausage. It was delicious and cooked perfectly. Definitely adding it to the list for future dinners. We also ordered 10 hot wings, requested extra crispy. As usual, we chucked them in the air fryer when we got home. The garlic parmesan and the sweet chili wings are also pretty yummy if you want something other than regular wings. This order set us back almost $30 for a medium pie with wings and it took about 40 minutes. Service is always fair to middling. Overall, good flavors on what we have tried and it is a little bit pricey (let's be honest, all the food costs are going up everywhere) but they are better than the other pizza places in the area unless you want the ol Domino's. I came here for lunch and since i was in a rush i order a burger and one slice of cheeses pizza. The burger was delicious and built perfectly and they serve it on a brioche bun, it was very tasty and the fries were hot and on point. One of the best burgers i had in a while. We continue to come here and I wanted to update my review. The service is so good despite the sometimes unruly customers and large crowd. I don't know why there are so few reviews of a place that seems constantly busy. The food is very good pizza-pub fair and they are pretty flexible with adjustments if you need to meet dietary needs (Gluten free for us). Ordered a small pizza and 2 sub meals. Asked for extra ranch. Was told it would be an hour. An hour and a half later after my husband called a driver came. We had no pizza, the fries were ice cold, and after asking for no onions on two items, we'll guess what; there were onions. Overall: Definitely a great place for pizza and beers. They also have great subs. I love the Philly cheesesteak and the fried chicken sub. Atmosphere: Isabellas is a small neighborhood bar/pizza joint. There are two doors upon entrance. One for take out and dine-in and another door for the bar. The bar is small with a few tables as well. People frequent to join friends and watch a game or to just catch up. I don't believe they serve hard liquor, just beer and wine. The take-out/done-in area has a few tables and there is also outside seating which people tend to gather quite frequently during the warmer seasons. Food: I am not a pizza fan but I enjoy the pizza here! Not too much sauce, just enough cheese and toppings. Everything I've ever ordered is always HOT, ALWAYS! They have sweet chili wings that are pretty great. I've had their fried mushrooms that were great the first time but inedible and undercooked the second time--so I wouldn't order them again. Their subs are overflowing with meat and delicious. I love the fried chicken sub and the steak and cheese sub! I ordered a salad last night and it was pretty good. Some salads come with fries on them which is a little strange but I was intrigued and was willing to try it, unfortunately for some reason my salad didn't contain any so I don't know if it is actually a tasty combination. I don't know why both of the salads I ordered didn't contain them even though it's on the description and I asked specifically when I called but nonetheless it didn't. Interesting experience ordering from Isabella's tonight. My wife ordered a large meat lovers pizza for deliver. She was quoted an hour to an hour and 15 minutes. When the pizza finally arrived the driver apologized for the wait and said that he had trouble finding the driveway. The pizza was barely warm and the crust had gotten tough. It did taste pretty good though... I got the receipt from Square and was asked to comment on our experience. I said that the order took too long and the pizza was barely warm when we got it. I got the following response from Isabella's: "Well we are short staffed. We are trying to deliver to your far location. You can always pick up or w may have to quit delivery in your area. No one wants to work. HeT in over on 400 for a few minutes." Second email from Isabella's: "You are far from the restaurant. We will add you to the out of Area list. We are doing the best we can." To which I responded: "I was asked to comment on our experience so I did. I didn't cuss or get ugly. I merely pointed out that the pizza was barely warm when we got it. FWIW the driver apologized for taking so long with the delivery. He said he couldn't find the driveway." "We have had many successful deliveries from your restaurant at this address. By successful I mean on time and the pizza, while not as hot as right out of the oven and we don't expect that, was warm enough that the crust was still tender and not tough." "So for my comments you are going to stop delivering to us? We would really prefer that that not happen since we like your pizza, bu if necessary we will get our pizzas somewhere else." Isabella's then sent the following email: "We have extended delivery area to try an accommodate all. As everyone knows the restaurant industry is short staffed so any negative review/comment is insulting to this industry. We are all over worked and understaffed so more positive feedback would be appreciated. As you know we are a distance from our restaurant. We have new staff and working to to the best we can. You are free to order wherever you want but if you want to continue to use us that is great but need you to understand it may take a while." At this point I'm through. This is an example of how customer service should not be done. If they had offered a simple apology: "We are very sorry this happened. We are short staffed but will try and do better next time." we would not have thought anymore about it. I find is disturbing to read this when we weren't notified of a problem and if you did notify some please let me know who I'd like to address some of your issues The Isabellas story is about my grandma and her story is the reason I named the restaurant Isabellas. I don't believe it takes its Chicago style pizza or 3 generations The dough we use is hand made by a man from Italy along with our Philly Stk meat. As well as his sauce recipe. All sauce is hand made daily by our sons. Our oil for the fryer is changed every 3 days. Most restaurants only do it once a week so I am confused with the "dirty oil comment" The Italian hoagies are also made fresh daily. All the meat is fresh deli meat also prepared daily. Nothing ever sits around. We make everything fresh. If you can please respond to my questions along with your name and number I'd be happy to discuss this all with you" So wait... The food was excellent and my order was prepared correctly. The meatball topping was fantastic and they made a small pie without sauce for my child. The store has bad hours on Sunday. It doesn't open until 12. They should open at at least 11:30, so orders for lunch can be phoned in. Great little neighborhood place. Went in for takeout after grocery shopping for a winter storm, and the place was slammed with friends and family enjoying each other's company. We use their takeout and delivery option a lot. (One of the few delivery services out our way) we've got the pizza a number of times here and it's okay at best. Forget about left overs... the cheese is like plastic (in taste and texture). The sandwiches are alittle better. We usually order the steak and cheese, and the fried chicken sandwich. Takeout from the restaurant is okay. There are only two girls that are attentive and helpful. The rest are telling personal information and not paying attention to anything but their phones.
