Bara Don. Great flavor and very fresh!

The food was amazing! Fish was very fresh and flavor was excellent! It's now my go to place when I want sushi. The service is slow though. So try to go before you are hungry.

Isamu is my new favorite Japanese restaurant! Premium ingredients, beautifully plated, and surprisingly affordable. Every dish looked as good as it tasted. Owner (Oat) says their fish is flown in from Japan; we can def taste the freshness. They're still working out the kinks though and are short staffed so service was a little slow. Patience is part of the experience (for now). Definitely one to watch once they hit their stride.

This is the best quality sushi in sugar land. The concept of ordering from a screen may be new to some, but it's common in many modern Asian restaurants and I love it. They have complimentary soup which is amazing. My daughters loved everything they had. But the salmon box and the sashimi over rice are easily the best sushi you can get in southwest Houston. It's comparable to high end spots in town. I want to give these guys more than five stars. So good.

The sushi was really elite. There is not a better place in the area for quality + price. The salmon wonders box was sooooooo good. The California blossom roll was unique and quite tasty. The restaurant was quiet and the service was good. I will absolutely be back and you should certainly check it out.

One of their bento box. Very colorful and fresh. Place is nice and clean. Owner is very friendly. He personally brought the food we ordered to our table

    So fresh

Delicious premium sushi at a casual dining space. Ordered a wide variety of sushi and bento boxes and was happy with the quality and freshness of each dish. The presentation of the meal was also amazing and I can't wait to try more.

He's been telling me about this place for a while, so I came in already expecting great sushi, and it definitely delivered. First off, they have all-day happy hour, which is always a win. We started with the yellowtail sashimi, and it was incredibly fresh and flavorful such a great way to kick things off. For drinks, he ordered a Legend Old Fashioned, and I went with the lychee martini... and yes, I had two because it was that good light, slightly sweet, and super refreshing. For our rolls, I got the Hot Momma roll and he had the Julie Crunch roll. Everything came out perfectly fresh, well-balanced, and beautifully presented. You can really tell they put care into both the quality and the experience. Also, shoutout to Emilio he was so sweet and attentive throughout the night and really made the experience even better. Between the food, drinks, and the overall vibe, this place checked all the boxes. I can 100% see this becoming one of our regular date night spots going forward. Highly recommend if you're in the mood for great sushi and a relaxed atmosphere!

The service, even when ordering take out like I did during my most recent visit, is great. The servers are friendly and even encourage you to take a seat and offer a drink if the food isn't quite ready when you arrive. We ordered over the phone and received our food 15-20 minutes after making the phone call on a Monday evening. The fish is consistently fresh and the portions are generous. I always order the Sushi Combo B because it has a bit of everything I like--generous, fresh, well formed nigiri, spider roll (my favorite), california roll, and miso soup. The chef's choice nigiri always seems to have salmon, tuna, and yellowtail but the other four pieces rotate and vary slightly. When we arrived it wasn't busy, but then again it was 6pm on a Monday. The restaurant itself is kept quite clean and it's a tad quiet with no music playing. I'm a regular here and I don't plan on frequenting any other sushi restaurant until I find something that can offer the same quality and quantity at a similar or better price.

Oma is one of the better AYCE sushi spots I have been to in Houston. It's located on the lakefront…read morearea of 59 & Hwy 6. While they don't offer lakeside seating, there are plenty of options inside the spacious, two-story restaurant. On the weekends, they indicate "No lunch AYCE" - don't be confused by the wording like we were. This only means that they don't offer the "lunch price" AYCE on the weekends. No biggie, as the dinner price/menu was perfectly fine and opened up more options for us to order. Lunch price AYCE does not offer sashimi (nigiri only), whereas dinner price AYCE has the whole menu as fair game. Some of the menu items do have limits, like the toro (1 piece/adult AYCE). Additionally, each person can order a max of 10 nigiri or sashimi per round. You also only get 1 serving of dessert per AYCE. They also have a silly rule of $0.50 per uneaten rice for nigiri; I suppose this encourages folks to fill up on rice in the nigiri, as sashimi is not an option during weekday lunch AYCE. Our party of 5 ordered a multitude of items on the menu. The fish quality was definitely there and everything tasted fresh. We ordered a few rounds of the seared nigiri, specialty nigiri, and sushi towers. Standouts were eel/unagi sashimi, crunch garlic & scallion salmon nigiri, seared Kobe beef nigiri, seared tuna nigiri, and seared yellowtail nigiri. These were the ones we ordered multiple rounds, but we made an honest attempt to at least try as much of the menu offerings as we could. If only our stomachs had more room! I will say the hot/cooked items (bulgogi, galbi, beef skewer) could have been better...but what can you say, this is a sushi restaurant. That doesn't speak for all of the hot items. I really liked the basil chicken nuggets (Taiwanese popcorn chicken) and vegetable tempura; the shrimp tempura was also a hit at the table. Our server was very knowledgeable and attentive throughout our time. At times we'd forget what we had ordered of the many items, so he'd swing by the table once the food was brought out to tell us what's what, and who ordered what. Excellent service! For AYCE sushi, Oma is definitely on top of its game. I've been to a few others around Houston, and this one stands out as one of the premium ones in my opinion. Come for lunch and eat to your heart's desire, and if you're like me, you won't eat for another 30 hours.

The nigiris also had a good consistent fish to rice ratio. Calamari - batter was too thick and the squid was a little chewy Ika salad - pleasantly surprised this was on the menu and was decent Salmon tower - kind of like poke, one of my favorite appetizers Pepper tuna nachos - alright, nothing to write home about Salmon lover & Hawaii rolls - I preferred the salmon roll. The Hawaii roll was a bit too mushy. Overall, wouldn't recommend the rolls when you can eat the nigiri Salmon/eel/salmon belly/yellowtail nigiri were great! I tried the squid nigiri which was SO slimey I wanted to throw up. I am not sure if that's the typical texture but I don't recommend. The octopus was very fishy in taste. Service - the waiters were very helicopter-y. They passed by legitimately every 15 seconds, it was a bit too much. Our waiter also input our order wrong but was kind about it. Wait - on a weekday at 2p, it was about 5 min wait! Overall, it's pretty good but I don't see myself making this far drive when there are other closer ayce sushi spots to me!
