I have been to this sushi restaurant for about 2 years now. It's quite literally the best sushi you can get for this price in OC. A sweet old couple and a Japanese man who's devoted his entire life into sushi making works here. In this plaza, they're usually the ones with less people or customers and I'm not sure why. I had drawn them a drawing before and they cherished it so much they hung it up in their store and every time I dine there they'll give me free salmon. They told me that the drawing I made was their new motivation to keep going even when they were gonna close. These sweet souls said they're really struggling with buisness and I'd do anything to boost their name. I've tried a lot of their menu options and their fish is sweet, no fishy smell, thick, and truly authentic unlike a lot of sushi places in OC. Please please please give them a try. Even if it looks empty inside and if you speak chinese or not, it'll be a beautiful experience.

one of the best sushi spots in town! Every piece was fresh, beautifully presented, and perfectly balanced in flavor. We ordered the chef's omakase and were blown away by the variety and creativity. melt-in-your-mouth toro, buttery uni, truffle soup, etc. that was unforgettable. The deal gets even better -- the second person gets 50% off. So amazing! Can't wait to come back!!

Food - 3 Service - 3 Ambiance - 3 Bento portion is plenty enough for one person. All sushi rolls are buy 1 get 1 50% off. Tried their organic Japanese hot tea (fried brown rice tea). Refill w/hot water Rolls are just average.

I was going to stop at Hide Out Cafe but was told that food was no longer being made. My friend and I walked a little bit more down the area and saw this restaurant. We decided to give it a try. The restaurant is minimally decorated. They don't have music playing. It's very quiet. We were seated and given menus. Their menu has a lot of variety. We ordered a few different items: toro roll, seared salmon nigiri, chicken katsu, and a spider roll. The seared salmon came out first; it was fresh and delicious. The spider roll came out next; it was perfectly crispy. The tonkatsu came with rice, salad, and a miso soup. The tonkatsu was flavorful, tender on the inside, and perfectly crispy on the outside. The salad dressing was yummy! The toro roll was amazing; it melts in your mouth. Our server checked on us a couple of times to see how the food was tasting. I'm looking forward to future visits.

Beware that Ishi Sushi for some reason has a lot of fake reviews on Google, possibly even on Yelp. We came here on a Friday night and every place in this plaza was busy or had a line out the door except this place. Ishi Sushi had no one in there except one other couple. We were wary, but the food was fine. Their prices are mixed considering what items they have. Some are a good deal, while some are average price. Their menu is big, which is a little worrying. I don't know if their sushi prices are overpriced, because I didn't try the sushi. Service was fine. Tonkatsu ($12), katsu don ($17), mixed tempura ($10, worth it), chawanmushi ($5.50 for steamed egg-- very worth it, great deal), chicken teriyaki ($9, worth it for a decent meal set), tonkatsu curry ($19).

Ishi Sushi has one of the most expansive menus, including delicacies such as Foie Gras, Wagyu, and Lobster Sashimi. Delicious to the finest details of Japanese Brown Rice Tea and two forms of Fresh Wasabi. Staff fluent in English, Japanese, and Chinese. Ordered: Uni Chawanmushi (海胆蒸蛋)-RECOMMEND. Inari (豆腐皮寿司), Salmon (三文鱼), Yellow Tail (黄尾鱼), Beef Tataki (牛肉霜烧), Agedashi Tofu (日式炸豆腐), Japanese Hot Brown Rice Tea (日本玄米茶)- RECOMMEND, with a side of Fresh Grated Wasabi & Wasabi/Chili Sauce. Limited but Free Parking outside of plaza. Indoor dinning available. Restaurant on first level of plaza.

Kamon Sushi - Rowland Heights…read more Kamon Sushi is one of the few Japanese restaurants that has managed to stand the test of time in the Rowland Heights area. I've watched the restaurant go through management changes over the years, but they've done a solid job maintaining a consistent mid-level quality while continuing to attract local customers. One of the biggest draws is still their business lunch pricing. The menu is extensive, covering sushi, bento boxes, kitchen dishes, and more recently, yakitori. My personal preference is their bento boxes. The two-item and three-item combinations, typically ranging from the mid-teens to low twenties, remain a dependable choice. Inflation has made them less of a bargain than they once were, but compared to similar Japanese restaurants in the area, they are still reasonably priced. Over time, Kamon has evolved into a more modern Japanese restaurant with a broad menu. The upside is variety. The downside is that I don't think they've found one category that truly stands above the rest yet. The yakitori is alright. The tempura is alright. The sushi is decent. The bento boxes are probably the strongest part of the menu. What consistently stands out is the service. The staff is friendly, attentive, and welcoming, which keeps me coming back. Kamon may not be the place for the best sushi, the best yakitori, or the best tempura in town. But if you're looking for a reliable neighborhood Japanese restaurant with a wide selection, fair pricing, and great service, it continues to be a solid choice.

My wife and I have dined here a few times and other visits with my cousins. The parking near the entrance are usually occupied and some of spots in the lot are compact so just an FYI. The location is nice and the staff will acknowledge you as you walk in. There are a number booths for intimate seating. There is a sushi bar towards the back of location and also bigger tables for larger groups. Kopan offers a lot of various items from the sushi, sushi rolls, ramen, curry and even a limited time wagyu menu. Each visit has been a positive one. Some days have BOGO 50% on rolls. The quality of the sushi rolls is fresh and nicely presented. On a few recent trips, we tried the Wagyu Uni Sushi which was insane! I tried the Chicken Curry Katsu which was delicious. Served on a hot stone and full of flavorful curry with a large cut of chicken katsu. Overall, the menu options and a good quality service make this location a stand out. Thanks, Kopan Ramen! ( ^_^)b

We were sat immediately and service was friendly and quick. We ordered a variety of Sushi including blue crab roll, a special cut roll, and of course, the premium sashimi platter. Food came out quickly, and the presentation was beautiful. I love how they use really thick cuts of fish and do not skimp on the portion sizes. I would say, if you are an avid fan of sashimi, the premium sashimi platter is a must here to share (or not!) I, however, will be continuing my search for edible sushi. I really wanted to like this place, but it turned into one of those meals where each dish somehow managed to outdo the last. The sushi rice was dry, bland, and completely unseasoned. The fish was sliced so thin I thought I accidentally ordered the "printer paper" cut. There was so much rice compared to fish that every bite felt like I was eating a rice ball that briefly met a tuna. The miso soup tasted like someone emptied half a jar of instant broth into a pot and called it a day. Then came the sauces. The ponzu was oddly sweet, and somehow even the soy sauce tasted sweet. I wasn't expecting my sushi to come with dessert seasoning. The tamago was so sweet it should've been listed under the dessert menu. One bite was enough. The assorted tempura was another surprise, not the good kind. The batter reminded me of the frozen tempura you buy in the grocery store freezer aisle. I've never had tempura at a sushi restaurant that tasted like it came with microwave instructions. To top it off, there were flies and little fruit fly-type bugs making their rounds around the table. Nothing says "fresh seafood" quite like having to share your meal with tiny uninvited dinner guests. The 10-piece sushi set definitely wasn't worth the price. I'm genuinely puzzled by all the glowing reviews. The overall quality was closer to an average all-you-can-eat sushi spot than what the ratings led me to expect. Unfortunately, this is one restaurant I won't be revisiting.
