Two years ago, after the auto repair shop I was dealing with closed down, I found out about this store through Yelp. After that, I came here every time I had a problem with my car, and I realized that the reviews on Yelp were not wrong, so I also wanted to leave a review here. From my own experience, I think the following three are the unique strengths of this store. First, when we go to get our car repaired, what we hate the most is being told to fix something that we don't want. Sam, the owner of this place, is truly a trustworthy person in many respect. Second, they are really good at identifying problems and fixing them well. For example, a family member recently took their car to the dealer and was unable to get it fixed for two months, even after spending a lot of money on it. So I brought it here and the problem was completely resolved within a few hours. Third, I felt that the repair costs charged by this shop were always lower than expected or reasonable. I had a nonfunctioning temp gauge in my 1993 Toyota MR2 instrument cluster. The owner Sam took me right-in Saturday morning after I called and his tech fixed the problem while we waited. Today Saturday August 31st 2024, I pulled in to L J Automitive at 24406 Crenshaw Blvd. Torrance, CA. 90505. around 9:15 AM I spoke with Sam the owner about an electrical issue I was having with my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. I explained what I thought it might be to him. Sam listened and said they would look into it and it would go into the service bay shortly. I was truly surprised that they were going to not only look at the vehical, but correct the issue at hand. Sami used to be mechanic at Smog Pros at the Arco on PV Drive North in Lomita. He branched out to open his own shop and named it after his sweet girls. He is the most honest, reasonable and amazing mechanic I have ever met. He does what needs to be done and doesn't come up with all the extras that dealerships may recommend. Sam has saved me more than $50,000 on all of my cars in the last 15 years. You can't find a more honest person in this world, and as a mechanic, it's virtually impossible. Last week he saved me $150 to $200 on replacing both of the electric locks on my Lincoln. He usually saves us more than $500 on my wife's Mercedes tune ups. When you have your tune-ups at a foreign repair or a dealership, you always get an up-sale call after your car is there suggesting you add this service or that service, or some unnecessary maintenance that is in your best interest, the intelligent choice. If you like that call, you can intelligently keep spending your money on greedy mechanics or save some with LJ and spend it on things that may change the world for the better. His Nephew Omar is a master mechanic and works side by side with Sam. The new 1st class facility on Crenshaw has 5 or 6 bays and an alignment machine.
