Hire them to install a water softener at my rural property in Livermore about a year ago. They advertise they are experts in well treatments, they are not. They sold me a system that didn't remove smell or filtered water correctly for minerals in well which we spoke about with sales person Fred after they did the water test. Had to hire another company to install correct filtration system. Recently I had a fitting break on the water softener they installed, a simple male adapter fitting. Reach out to them first thing in the morning to acquire fitting or to schedule service repair. Spoke to Jessica she said she would reach out to parts department to know if part was in stock. 48 hrs later she still doesn't know if part is even in stock or she will need to order which she said it will take even longer. Mind you water softener is very important to us as well water is very hard. This company sells a product and doesn't know if they have parts to fix it when they break. I am so upset with this company! We have been clients for over 12 years. Over the past several years we have had issues with our water softener (discovered too late) and when we call the company, they tell us that the people who deliver the salt don't check to see if there's a problem they just put the salt in the softener... in my opinion, if you are putting something into a water softener, you should at least make sure it's working first. We never complained about that but last week I had called to let them know that we are leaking 53 gallons of water an hour!!! and we isolated the leak to the water softener. The woman I talked to on the phone (I believe her name was Shawna ) was extremely rude to me! She actually told me I was rude! I simply called to tell her we had a problem and she wanted to know how I knew that we were leaking water... I said the water company informed us and I wanted someone to come out to check out the problem. At that point she gave me a hard time, but said that she could send someone out Christmas Eve. She told me they would be at my house at 9 o'clock... I called this morning Christmas Eve and asked if we could get a timeframe and they said it would be close to 9 o'clock. It is now 1245 on Christmas Eve and we are still waiting for someone to come by. I've called several times. I've left messages with the answering service and I just feel that this company has gone downhill especially in the customer service department. The reviews here paint the true picture. Three words for them- avoid these guys . They seem to be working in 90s and they have these annual contracts which forces you to use their service (water delivery) for a year even if you want to cancel them. So, watch out. read more

Culligan was a disaster. Paid $2500 for a RO unit. The minute it was installed there was nearly any water coming out. I asked the installer what was going on and he said the tank just needed to fill up. Next day, same thing. About 24 hrs later I called. They would not come out to look at the unit but tried to give me instructions to fix it myself. I refused, knowing that if I do something wrong it will invalidate their warranty. Ultimately got a refund, but had to wait almost a week for them to come out and uninstall the unit. There are better filters online for much less $. I hired them expecting outstanding quality (works first time) and amazing service. Did not get either. Very disappointed. read more

I am a listing agent who called simply to find out if I can get a representative out to assess the existing system that my clients purchased from this company just to see if it still works. It hadn't been used in a while. This was a potentially new contract for this company, but I didn't get past the receptionist on the phone as she was incredibly rude, argumentative, talked over me and insisted that we pay over $175 AND sign a contract just to get someone out there to look to see if the unit was even functional. My clients would've signed an agreement at that point but not before. Why would we sign a contract for service if we don't know the unit is working or not? I would expect a smaller fee just to come out to assess but unfortunately I was told we had to sign a contract. Ridiculous. I feel bad for the sales people and service representatives that rely on the receptionist's professionalism and ability to listen so that they end with customer satisfaction and employees earning a paycheck. I'm seeing lots of other negative reviews...no surprise. Incredibly disappointing and surprising that especially in this economy that customer service and courtesy is neglected! Loved working with the sales guy Ken as he sincerely cared about my purchasing a water softeners for my home . He followed up often and was kind enough to test all my outdoor faucets for me to determine which outlet had soft or hard water coming out . Also loved the new cleaner water being generated in my homes. And to think it only will cost me bags of cheap salt to have cleaner water for many years. read more

We've used Culligans for years... they continue to increase prices. Recently, to service my osmosis filter it was 550$! Then I write them a check and they lose it? Wow. With my routing number and banking info. And want me to send another check? Businesses like this will not survive- especially when so much is by word of mouth. read more

I do not recommend Ising's Culligan services for water softner related services. All they want to do is get your business and dump you. Immediately after installing the softner system their rep is suppose to come and review the setup and explain how to maintain it. But no one follow up for months. Then my water intensity slowed down significantly within 5months to a point where if one faucet is open other faucet barely gets any water. When called they sent someone out to show me that filter is already clogged. I understand that Pleasanton water is so bad that it clogged within 5 months but when asked why someone did not review the setup after installation they say the ref left the company so sorry ! I would give no stars if possible. I have a tank water softener system they come out once a month to service. I came home last night to no water in my house. I checked the main water valve and that was not shut off. I called their after hours service & didnt receive a call back so after 45 minutes called back and insisted to be connected to someone. The on-call guy was 2 hours away and said that is the best they could do. I had a sick 1 year old at home needing a bath. I ended up calling city of Livermore & they sent someone out. He found that they tapped into my fire sprinkler system and turned off that valve. Which is illegal. If a fire had went off at my house while I was gone yesterday, our sprinkler system would not have gone off. I spoke to the office this morning and the lady had the nerve to say there's no proof they were the ones who turned it off. She said that she doesn't want to be yelled at in the morning and said the call is over. I will be finding a new service or method to softening my water as they clearly don't care about their clients or level of customer service. read more

Ising originally installed RO water filtration system in a new home build. Install Tech. was inexperienced, did not install properly, water leakage set off the water sensors, had to return to re-install and properly install the linkage to dishwasher overflow valve 2 times. Still leakage after 1-day, had to fix/adjust DIY. 2nd experience was that I scheduled a filter change service visit 1-year later, never showed up. I had to find the P/N of filter, drive to the Ising office to purchase it, had to install it DIY. 3rd experience (glutten for punishment), made a service appt., service guy showed up on-time, informed us that the electric on/off module broken, did not replace filters, said they will order part to return and re-install. No call back, no tech., no parts ordered. Called 3x and receptionist did not get call center messages left on a Friday 2PM during office hours. Said she would check parts dept. if ordered or not. No return call. Gave up, will tear out the Culligan RO system, use it for target practice with 12Gauge. I highly do NOT recommend this establishment. They may be more suited to service the local homeless parks, RV's, Tent communities and do the community a favor, not charge them. Sincerely... read more

We've been using Culligan Ising for years because the water here in Pleasanton is very hard. We had a recent tank change and the water was yellow and tasted metallic. We have rented a water softening unit from ising's for the last couple of years at about $60/ month + salt delivery. The good news is that lately I haven't spent much on salt delivery because they just don't seem to want to deliver any. Over the past year I have had at least 3incidents where the salt tank was 100% empty. Call them up and it's always at least 3 days for them to make the delivery they should have made weeks prior. In the meantime, we have had many issues with the equipment it self. At one point the flushing valve stuck open. For how long I don't know, but by the time they came to fix it, we had racked up a $400 water bill. Most recently our water became VERY salty. I called to have it checked out and was told they could have someone out in 3 days. It wasn't until I told them this was a health issue that they managed to get someone out the same day. The technician found that A) there was too much water in the salt tank causing it to siphon into the fresh water and B) ( and this is a big surprise) there was no salt. After all these issues we felt I deserved a credit. I called and asked for 3 month credit, roughly $180, and was told I would be credited 1 month. Keep in mind we have been paying $60 / month for the last 5+ years on time without fail and they wouldn't even pay 1/2 of an excessive water bill that their equipment caused. At this point I am looking for a new company to rent from and I am done with this floundering organization. Sometimes they come and sometimes they don't but I get billed just the same. I have equipment that needs to be repaired, you can tell just by looking at it. If you work for a company and deliver service you would think you would notify someone that there was something wrong. Called to have my reverse osmosis system's filter changed. I was told it would be $75. The service technician arrived and the total he gave me was $188.20! He called the office and he was told she told me how much it would bewhen I called to schedule the service. No, you did not! He's already done the work, so what am I supposed to do?! I was having this done as a courtesy for the new buyer of my house and I would not have spent so much money to have it done if I had been told that up front. Bait & switch!!! These people are crooks and revenge oriented. We had their water softener for 30 years and the system was installed over 60 years ago. The system was hard soldered to our house and the connection was available for use by Ising's. In November 2023, I installed a new system and had them remove their equipment. I then received a final bill for $330.75 for equipment that was supplied by me. I closed my account and I informed them that they were not allowed to use My online credit card before I received the outrageous bill. What a surprise they would not communicate with me and they charged my account anyway, which was unlawful and without my authorization. They're upset about my leaving. I've contacted my credit card company. All they need to do is show me the system installation but they can't. I'm hoping to go to small claims court over the issue as I want to drag Ising's through the Mudd. read more

I have been an Ising's customer for 11 years. Original system install, service along the way and system updates. Well water treatment equipment is a little pool supplies - more pricing than you might think. But their service and staff are excellent. Highly reliable and informed. Cesar came to check several issues today and knew exactly what to do and what wasn't needed. He is very good technically and honest. And fixed something I hadn't mentioned in the job call with his well stocked service vehicle supplies. I recommend him and Ising's without reservation read more

Since they moved their Livermore location they mail out bills very close to the past due date. Awesome experience last night! Called for emergency service and Cesar Guevara came out to our home last night to fix a leak that we had with the connection from our water softener to our plumbing. He arrived within 20 minutes and quickly disconnected the system from the house, bled all water from the pipes, and replaced two gaskets that were leaking. He re-enegerized the system tested for leaks.....No leaks! Cesar was very personable and knowledgable on Culligan systems and also provided setting recommendations on how to get the most efficient use of our water softener. Poor customer service. I signed up for Culligan's water softener service and it's just not working. I recently got the classic symptoms of hard water - dry, itchy skin, flat hair and a layer of white residue on my skin. I called them several times and each time the ladies said they would return my call within an hour but still no call back. This was not my first issue with Ising. It took me several tries to get someone to come out to sign a contract with them (you would think they want new business). I asked the rep to have someone come out to replace the filter on my Culligan RO system. The rep said she would have someone call me to schedule an appointment. Four days later and still no call. I had to call them to schedule an appointment but by that time, I decided I didn't want a system where I had to call multiple times to get a filter change. There are a lot of new and better RO systems where you don't need to rely on a third party (and they charge $150 just for a house call) to change the filters. I was considering buying a new RO and water softener system from Culligan but my experience has been negative so far so I'm probably going to look elsewhere. read more

I am now dropping their water delivery service after five years. They are NOT capable of getting the accounting correct. While the drivers are always great, the office does not care that they over charge me. This month again I was charged a fee for late payment. I find this so incredably stupid. If I paid late it was because they forgot to take the money from my checking account on time. I am on automatic payment each month. When brought to their attention they simply say "it was a mistake and it won't happen again" Yeah, until next billing cycle. I am done with them...... read more

I normally don't do reviews but I had to when it comes to this company. My husband and I had 2 businesses and we used Culligan for them both and for our house. My husband passed away last month and I had to close up our shops. They made it so difficult for me to cancel when we've been customers for more than a few years. Plus they are now trying to charge me when I've talked to the manager and whoever I could about having no income. They are trying to charge me around $40 for a piece that will maybe cost them maybe $5 to fix. I really recommend you don't use this company and do not get sucked in. You don't need to sign a contact to get water services. There's plenty of places who are cheaper and who won't try to take advantage. It's very disappointing and goes to show that they are money hungry. They are the only company giving me issues and we were on automatic payments. This is the absolute worst company I have ever dealt with. It is a wonder they remain in business. I suppose it must be solely from the absurd rates they charge to the few customers they have somehow managed to maintain. After having an unreliable delivery for years because they kept attempting to come at the same time every week (apparently the driver couldn't figure out our business hours, despite them being clearly posted on the front door), I finally cancelled delivery. The business continued to charge me "rental" on a worn down, barely working cooler that I had paid off a dozen times over in rental fees. After finally returning the old piece of junk, bills continued to come. When I called to cancel the account, they said they had no record of it being returned and that they would charge me for the entire cost of the cooler. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE!!! read more

I reached out to Culligan because I wanted to protect my pipes and my bathroom and kitchen water fixtures. When they called me to schedule an appt. we had a little difficulty because of timing. I could only meet on Fridays and their sales rep doesn't work on Friday. All in all, they worked it out and the sales rep was able to meet me. The sales person was very imformative and knew the product well. She showed me where the unit would sit and where they would tap into the line. I was sold and ordered the unit. Two weeks later, my unit was installed. When the installer arrived, I didn't realize the job could be up to 6 hours of time. I didn't allow for the time. Thank goodness my son was home. All in all, it was a pretty smooth process and I am enjoying my soft water in my home. Soft water is the best if you have hard water like I did. read more

"This place is really janky! I gave it a chance but they are less than pleasant. I had 2 bottles delivered. When they arrived they were boiling hot and I was charged a delivery fee *gas fee* - I live in the same city! When I called to let them know about the temperature of the water, I was told that the charges were going to be reversed. I still have the water jugs - unopened- waiting to be picked up They charged me anyway - even though they were supposed to reverse the charges. Then when I talked to a customer service specialist - he tried to tell me that I was wrong and a little bit into our conversation he hung up on me. We contracted with Cullilgan Service for home water softening. After six months of repeated service problems, I had to finally throw-in the towel and cancel the service. The delivery of the softening service was very unreliable. I patiently worked with Chris at Culligan to allow them to correct their service delivery, and today they provided another excuse as to why they missed their delivery. Very disappointing! read more

We've been using them for 20 years. But no more. One of the parts on our water filtration system went out. They instructed me to turn the water off to the unit, assuring me that that would stop all water leaks, but that didn't do it and the leak continued. Now my kitchen hard wood floors are warped and I'm having to spend $1,000s of dollars in repairs to fix them. When I asked if they'd wave the fee, as a long time client and to help take the sting out off the damage to my floors, I got totally shined on. They took no ownership in the problem. If the manager would have been sympathetic, said he was sorry, but couldn't do it or offered me a ten percent discount I would have accepted it. Didn't even get an apology. I paid the bill, but that's the last of my doing business with Ising's. And I'll be telling all my friends. read more

These guys do a great job. I initially called Alhambra, and had the worst customer experience of all time. I tried to set water up with alhambra, and after getting water delivered with no cooler, and spending over 6 hours on the phone waiting and I finally gave up. So I called Isings, and someone picked up immediately. They got a cooler and water out the next day. They have always been super nice, whether I stop by in person or speak with them on the phone. Water is always clean and delicious, and I find that it's much better than the tap or filtered water in my area. The only knock that I have against them is that the reminder call for deliveries don't always go out. It's an automated system... and I know they're working on a new solution, but it's not like the water is delivered on the first thursday of every month, so I just get confused, and a reminder would always be nice. However, when I bring the my empties, they immediately get the water I need, and often try to make the problem feel better. I'd recommend them over water.com any day of the week. read more

Filled out a contact form on their website to see what products they offered got a call a couple days later from a woman who put me down to have sales call me back. A week went by o called them back and asked about when they were going to call me tell me what they offered. She apologized and recommended that I setup an in house consult for water quality, so I did that then assured me that the sales guy would call me before the appointment to answer any questions. And a week went by so the day before the appointment to come to my house I cancelled and spent my money someplace else. This place is a joke and a waste of time. If they can't even pretend to like you before they come do work at your house I would hate to see how they treat you when you're paying a monthly bill and need help with anything. Well I have an update and extremely saddened by the integrity of others. Here's a clip from a letter we sent to Isings. For more than 20 years we have used your Company to supply us with tanks to soften our house water. When we first contacted your company we had you install a single tank. When our family grew we increased to two tanks. For a long time our soft water needs were met by these two tanks. A few years ago we started noticing that the two tanks no longer got us through the four weeks. We didn't think too much about the issue as it seemed to only be a couple/few days (although it was odd since the kids were no longer at home). The last year or two we noticed that the soft water only lasted about 2 weeks. My wife called on more than one occasion and was told a story about the water being harder due to the location where the City was drawing the water. Finally earlier this month we decided to mark our two tanks to verify they were actually getting replaced. Low and behold only one of the tanks was replaced. The driver even swapped out the date tag to make it appear as if both tanks had been replaced. Certainly a fraudulent act with a clear intent to deceive. Needless to say we cancelled our service. Just thought others who use their service should know the truth. read more

If you want to deal with a horrible people from the top to bottom then this a co. for you! This co. does not even deserve a 1 star. I called to get water softener at my place and I specifically told them that I need a experienced person to come to consult for my application. They send a "Micky mouse" very incompetent person whom could not even do a good job with my water hardness level. After few times coming to me and wasting my time and did not even answer basic question he promised to come with a more senior level person. After two weeks no call no show! I called his so called manager and she was even worse! She hang up on me two times and did not even want to give me the owner name and phone number! This is the most awful co. I have ever dealt with. Don't ever use this company for water softener installation and service. Since last February we had a slow leak under our kitchen sink. We have a Culligan reverse osmosis drinking water faucet installed on our sink, so we had Culligan check this out. They claimed that was not the source of the leak and said it was our dishwasher. We had 2 different plumbers come to check it out and they kept saying it was the Culligan unit. Finally, after the third appointment with Culligan, their service guy found the leak was indeed from their drinking water faucet, fixed it and documented it for me. All the wood under our sink now has dry rot and is in really bad condition. Our house is only 5 years old so the wood was perfect before the leak started. We have to pay a contractor to repair the wood. However the owner of Isings' Culligan in Livermore refuses to cover this cost. Even though we have it documented from his own service guy, Chris from Culligan claims it took us too long to ID the leak (because they kept claiming it was our dishwasher) and that the leaky part is not under warranty. We told him we would take him to small claims and he said 'do what you have to do'. So, don't ever sign up with them if you want really bad service and no accountability. If they would just agree to fix the wood under our sink, I would have given them a good review and 5 stars. But Chris' attitude has ruined it all. read more
