An updated review three years later and Island Bodega still hits! I got their island bowl but modified it to have pitaya instead of acai. Their blue island base is tart yet slightly sweet and pairs amazing with pitaya (also coconut cream base if you want more of an ice cream feel). I always appreciate how fresh their topping bar looks - the fruit is never mushy or a questionable color. read more

One of my go to "healthy" treat yourself snacks lol. Love the variety of add ons, normally get bee pollen, cacao nibs and some Himalayan salt as a post or preworkout booster. Service is always consistent -- although they get busy on the weekends. Their island bodega latte is a must try! It can be on the sweet side but the flavors are there. This is now my new favorite açai place!! The bowls are affordable with multiple selections for the base and toppings! A friend used to tell me eating cold desserts is best during this winter season. After so many months of wanting to try this place out, I finally decided to go today, 01/31/25. This gets a 1-star rating because while the bowls my boyfriend and I got were good (Bear bowl/ Dragon bowl), there was one employee who made our experience an unpleasant one. I didn't get her name but she worked the register while we were there. She was shorter with a darker complexion than the other 2 girls working the bowl-prepping station. This employee made me feel uncomfortable and honestly, quite afraid to even approach the register to checkout because of her predisposed attitude. At one point as I was having my bowl prepared, i had caught her staring at me and then quickly turn away in a mad-dogging fashion. I didn't even get a friendly smile for accidentally catching glares. The 2 other girls preparing the bowls didn't look interested in being there either because, obviously, it's work. Who would? But they kept their composure and weren't as impatient. Then it was our turn to pay for our bowls. She asked my boyfriend something, which I didn't catch but then I said "uh, could we get 2 Island Bodega coffees" and right as I said that, she very harshly shut her eyes to mad-dog me and turned to look to the left of her as she asked a following question. The whole time having an attitude. Once she finished the coffees, she placed them on the counter, didn't make eye contact and rudely walked towards the bowl-prepping station all the while pointing to the straws to recite where the straws are should we want a straw. I felt completely disregarded as a paying customer and for that, I will have a hard time going back to this location. Not only because of her but they all looked like they were on a ticking time bomb. I was afraid that if I didn't hear a question correctly the first time, they'd give an attitude as they repeated themselves. This is the new wave with the young personnel customer service. It's very disappointing. read more

Best Acai I've ever had! And that's saying a lot because I have tried them all. And how you know that I think it's the best is because I drive from Culver City to Cerritos to get it. Yes, it's that good! The fruit is always fresh. The Chia pudding is always consistent and their bases are so delicious and they have so many options. I love this place .. BUT only when we order in person. It NEVER fails when we order online, the orders are ALWAYS wrong! Not sure why, but every time we order online, the base is correct but they always get the toppings wrong. I'm not sure if they do it on purpose or what. But this is the last time we'll be ordering online. Which is sad because it's more convenient. So just beware... if you want to take advantage of their bogo deals online, just know they will most likely get your order wrong. read more

Everything about this place is 5/5 except for the lackluster service I experienced by the closing team on 08/09/2025. The açaí bowl I got was phenomenal and was glad I drove 25 minutes for it, but I can't believe the team would not do a smoothie 30 minutes before closing. There wasn't a sign or anything that said we couldn't order smoothies 30 minutes before closing so my partner was pretty disappointed since we drove 25 minutes for this place -- this is my third or fourth time returning since I discovered this place last month and we were able to get smoothies around closing time before. After a busy day, we both just wanted to get a nice treat... Nonetheless, great food, convenient location, and a fantastic store. Just don't expect to have the same customer service every time you're here, which brings my supposed-to-be 5/5 review to a 3. Management, if you see this, please put a sign that there are no smoothies around closing time so your customers can save some time and gas, thank you! read more

I can't have them from anywhere else because these hit the spot so hard that no one can compete. I personally have not tried anything else, but my kids have enjoyed other treats from this place. They are located in Cerritos at a very busy shopping plaza and there's plenty of parking. I didn't expect the bakery to be an actual restaurant. There was a good crowd, sitting at tables and eating and drinking. They have about a dozen different flavors of macaroons. You can't go wrong with any of them, but my top favorite are the Birthday, Fruity Pebble, Horchata, Cappuccino and Ferrero Rocher. They make nice gifts too, as they can put it in a treat box in an ice brown paper bag. I definitely need to come back and try their drinks and something else from their menu.

The pistachio cake was a little dry -- not terrible, but noticeable. However, my hot salted caramel latte was actually very good and paired really well with the dessert. The music and atmosphere were nice, and there were only a few patrons inside, which made it feel relaxed. However, there were a couple of dirty plates left sitting on tables while one employee seemed more focused on organizing napkins instead of clearing them. I also wasn't too sure how fresh the cakes were since they had been sitting in the display. Whether I come back really depends on the flavor and quality of the food and drinks next time around.

So we decided to go with Calamansi cooler and the Ube milk tea with oatmilk for the drink. They were delicious. We also ordered the Leche flan ube cheesecake and it was teally good. The staff was friendly and the service was quick. The decor is pretty. Pretty good space and seating. I think the price is fair as well. We will need to try other drinks and baked goods next time. The monster oreo shake was delicious but it is not worth it for that price. The ube flan cupcake was just ube cupcake and flan stack on top. It kinds of lacking the cohesiveness. Overall, I would come back just for that tea.

I've only ever had the Cerritos location, but I've always enjoyed their ice cream. Their flavors remind me of the creativity at salt and straw, but even better. It must be the butter they use and the thickness of the ice cream. I recommend getting samples and trying out different flavors to cater to your preferences. The prices are reasonable and the portions are pretty good. I usually just share a split scoop. Their service is great and they move pretty fast. I really appreciated how nice and helpful the workers were. The girl who helped us offered recommendations and let us sample a handful of flavors. Ultimately we decided to get a flight which included 4 flavors of kid sized scoops for $15. They had a "Brewed and Bold" offering as part of their seasonal menu so we decided to get the Black Sesame Cookies and Cream, Thai Tea Buttercrunch, Matchaberry Brownie, and their Hojicha Chip. The ice cream flavors were subtle but so delicious and refreshing. I can't wait to come back and try more of their flavors. Parking can be a bit tough depending on the time of day as it's in a busy plaza shared with other eateries, but thankfully we were able to snag a spot within a few minutes.

I tasted it and it has a good, distinct mango taste. The boba had good texture and chew. He didn't know what the big jelly squares were. I told him that's the jelly lol. I tasted a bit of it. It has no taste (imo) but he liked it. And once he got to the bottom of his drink, there were big chunks of mango which were hard to slurp up in the straw. This place has cute decor. Very simple. I also appreciate that they have caffeine free fruit drinks, which is helpful if I'm getting something at night. Despite its consistency there is a nice tart creaminess from the dairy in the drink, I appreciate the refreshing flavor from the fresh strawberry. The "velvet fresh milk tea" has a really rich taste from the milk. It's unique; however, it's a little too rich for my preferences and it's why I tend to go with their regular "jasmine milk tea" with boba. I appreciate this location in Cerritos; however, they also have a location in Irvine. This is a great spot for boba in the area.
