I've been to Off Street Cafe twice for brunch. This restaurant is always busy during the weekend, so we always have to put our names on the waitlist. Luckily, both times, the wait was quicker than expected and we were seated promptly. The food is typical brunch food, but it is high quality, especially considering how quick the service is. Here is a good mix of savory, sweet, and healthy options for any craving. During our last visit, my sister and I really enjoyed the Tuna Melt and the banana pancakes. The best part? The prices are fair for the portion of food that you get! We've celebrated Father's day twice at this cafe, and I'm looking forward to coming back here for future casual brunches and special occasions. read more

Food is good. Service it hit or miss. Got there earlier than their usual Sunday rush today and was seated along the booths facing the kitchen/bar. Was fun to watch the hustle and bustle (and not-so-hustle of some). But BIG note for the manager/owner (and others who are concerned about it), almost ALL the FOH staff was chewing gum while working which is not just a health code violation but also just gross. Hopefully this gets addressed soon. I'll note, my server didn't check on us a single time. We were out of water and coffee by the time our check was dropped off. I will say, facing the back, I did see her (and other staff) go to the back and chew their gum, touch their phones, and drink their drinks without washing their hands and coming back up front (also a health violation, btw). I was getting my car serviced when I decided to have a bite to eat. Perusing cafe options in the area, I ran across Off Street Cafe, which was the closest to my location. I liked what I saw, and, once my business was done, I set a course for Off Street Cafe. I was more than a little surprised by what I saw: The parking lot was full, except for a few spaces, a couple of which belonged to the office next door. I found a parking spot, and made my way to the entrance, which was packed with people waiting for a table. I opened the front door to organized chaos, otherwise known as a busy cafe on a Saturday morning! I joined the Waitlist via a kiosk just inside the entrance. After inputting my info, it said it would be a 15-23 minute wait, which was fine with me. I found a spot in front to sit and read the book I brought with me. Not even 2 minutes later, I hear someone call out my name. A friendly host escorted me inside, and showed me to a table for two inside their patio area. No sooner than when I pick up the menu, a server greets me, and asks if I would like something to drink to start things off. I ordered an Apple Juice, and continued looking over the menu. Again, no sooner did my Apple Juice arrive, when my designated server greets me, and asks if I'm ready to order, or, if I needed more time? I originally had my eye on one of their omelettes, but, ended up going with the Chicken Fried Steak, with Scrambled Eggs, with Homestyle Potatoes on the side, and Sourdough Toast. I get back to my book, and, after what seemed like 2-3 minutes, my food arrives! Talk about speed! The Chicken Fried Steak was very good. Breaded just right, and, the gravy was also very tasty. Scrambled Eggs? No complaints here. The Homestyle Potatoes? Very good, as well. The toast was a bit rubbery, but good, as well. Overall, the service was great. My server checked in on me periodically to see if things were good, the speed with which they got me my food was stunning, considering how packed the place was. Food was great, as well. Everything about this place is five stars I just wish it had a bigger parking lot, place gets really busy and sometimes parking is a challenge . The food is delicious, by far my favorite breakfast place and I only learned about it about four months ago ! I've been coming here since nursing school at Cerritos College, so almost 9 years now, and the consistency is honestly what keeps me coming back. No matter how long it's been, the food and service are always good. I usually stop by after leaving night shift, and thankfully I normally don't have trouble getting seated early in the morning. Weekends after 9 a.m. are a different story though, this place gets PACKED, which honestly tells you how good it is. My go-to items are the Belgium waffle, cinnamon roll French toast, home style potatoes, and sausage links. Everything always comes out hot, fresh, and fast. They also have a huge menu, so there's something for everybody. The service is always friendly, even when they're super busy, and they do a great job keeping things moving. Wife went with chicken fried steak and I went with their spicy "Melecio", which was an omelet that blanketed carne asada, serranos, onions, cilantro, and cheese. I tried to flag down our server to fix the mistake but I could not flag her down so we just ate it. I didn't mind over easy eggs too much so it was ok but it wasn't what I ordered. We were sat pretty quickly even though it was packed and we were told it would be a 20 min wait it was about a 5 min wait so that was nice. The house potatoes were really the star of the show. It was very flavorful and perfectly cooked. Everything else was just okay. Most of it tasted like a standard IHOP breakfast. Nothing was bad but the quality was equivalent to a regular diner. The French toast had a thick egg layer on top which I wasn't expecting almost like an omelette overlaying the bread and I prefer less of that egg flavoring on the French toast and more of a soft bready/buttery flavor. I just worked through a list of every diner and coffee shop in LA County and somehow missed this spot. It was recommended to me by another foodie and wow they were right. This place is one of the best breakfast restaurants in South Los Angeles and I would highly recommend it and already want to go back again. Mainly for the food taste and quality. It's located in a business park area and comes with free parking in the front and back. We were able to be seated right when we arrived at 10AM on Saturday in a party of two. Our server was extremely polite, and everything that we ordered came out lightning fast. Inside is larger than it looks from the outside and has many different types of seating options. The restaurant was fully occupied when we were there so you can tell that it's really popular with the locals, and after eating it, I can understand why. I started off the meal with a Cinnamon Roll because it's one of my favorite things and I had heard that this place has one of the better versions. I will say that it is one of the best Cinnamon Rolls that I've had in 2025 and would highly recommend it to any fan. Great breakfast place! I ordered the Off Street plate (one of the favorites on their menu). Protein (I ordered sausages), two eggs, and two pancakes. The pancakes were definitely the star, sweet and perfectly cooked! My friend ordered the Croisaant Sandwich with Bacon along with a Vanilla Latte. Excellent. Service was great. It's tucked into.a business complex and there are not many spaces allocated for Off Street. Other businesses have posted signs warning against parking. Good breakfast options. Ambiance is busy and congested but if you beat the crowds, it's modern diner chill. I live nearby and have been having breakfast early weekends since they opened. Im a frequent patron and ive seen the service get replaced with hurried greetings and rushed ordering. I had already felt like the service was declining as they've gotten busier but today, was even more proof of that. A server accidentally dropped a plate of food behind me. I couldn't see but felt something land on me. Salsa had spilled on my hair and jacket (from what I could see) the young lady who spilled it, rushed a sorry and kept on moving to serve her table. She didn't return, acknowledge me, or send napkins. A male server came and cleaned up the spill behind me, but no one bothered to check on me, much less offer napkins, a towel, nothing. I had chunks of salsa stuck on my hair and was trying to get it out. I saw the young lady who spilled tell my server about me. My server didn't return to my table until much later. By then I had used every napkin at my table to clean my hair and my jacket. She approached only to say that the manager would be right with me. I said it's OK, I already cleaned it out of my hair. 20 minutes later "the manager" comes to us and says, you asked for me? We hadn't asked for her and she pretended to not know what happened. She said what can I do for you. I told her we already wiped it off my hair and told her the young lady spilled the salsa on me and didn't bother to stop and check on me she just kept going on about her task while I sat with salsa on my jacket and hair. She provided the mandated sorry. She later returned and told us she comped our meal. All was fine until I got to my car and noticed that my leather purse was drenched in salsa and some even got inside. The salsa juice had dried on it and chunks were stuck on it. I hadn't noticed because the purse was behind my chair but the server who spilled it and the guy cleaning up had to have seen it. No one bothered to let me know or help me out. Now I have a to find a way to clean my leather bag and hope that it's not ruined. read more

I visit Cerritos often since this is where I grew up, leaving when I bought a home in Orange County. Today my husband and I came with my Mom for breakfast. I came here regularly in the 90's and possibly in the late 80's with my parents when I was in high school. I remember getting a traditional breakfast and the menu offers the same reliable delicious food, and our family loved when we went before the pandemic.. today we enjoyed sitting in the patio, as it's close to the entrance and my Mom has mobility issues. The dining room at 8 AM was packed and I think we got choice of inside or patio table, before it was completely full house. The staff was really communicative and friendly including the hostess, buser, and our server. The buser confirmed the favorites and I decided to get the Alfredo skillet. Many of the items are named after those chefs that prepare the meals, and not necessarily what would come to mind for example, the Alfredo skillet is named after chef Alfredo and doesn't have Alfredo sauce or chicken. My husband got the chicken fried steak. My mom got the California omelette. All of our sides, and all of our meals were really good. My husband and I both got specialty coffee drinks. I decided to get the coffee butter latte, which is a special for the month and it was OK. I wouldn't get that again, but it wasn't bad tasting and was visually appealing, just was not for me.
