What do you eat at the Honolulu airport to last the 6-hour trip back to California? Stopover in Honolulu Airport from Kauai to San Francisco. Island Brews at terminal 15 in Honolulu airport is crowded and noisy with overhead TV monitors of sport events. Ordered the $15 Hawaiian pizza and the $15 BBQ chicken. both personal sizes 7" in diameter. Pizza ordered at 11:29am, and delivered at 11:38am, ready in 9 minutes. Wife's Hawaiian Pizza comes with ham, scallion, crushed pineapple, and bacon. Not a whole lot of flavors as they skimped on the overcooked ham and bacon, with only a few bits of pineapple. My BBQ chicken comes with pulled chicken, hawaiian bbq sauce, red onion, mozaarella and gouda cheese. Chicken is tasteless, but the long strips of onions and BBQ sauce make all the difference in the world, as this is the most flavorful of the two pizzas. Fast forward four months and we have another stopover at Island Brews. We order at 11:15am and pizzas arrive at 11:28am. The $15 mushroom sausage pepperoni comes with very little mushroom, but with at least 4 slices of pepperonis and a decent amount of sausage in a red sauce to satisfy any carnivore. The $14 vegetarian pizza comes with jalapenos, basil, mushrooms, and pineapples. The jalapenos add some kick to the pizza. Yes, you can take the pineapple out of Hawaii but can't bring pineapple into Hawaii. read more

He was slammed as he was the only person working that day. He had to take orders, make the drinks, put in the food order, clean the tables, wash the glasses but still managed to be as cool as cucumber, with a great sense of humor about the whole thing. Most people's heads would explode with that kind of stress, but he still managed to make a perfect cocktail and get us our pizzas on a timely basis. PIZZAS: Sun-dried Tomato Margherita with balsamic vinegar was pretty tasty and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I don't know why people keep complaining about it not being fresh, but rather microwaved. People's expectations for airport food is way over the top. $10.00, and it beats the price of an airport sandwich! My husband got the Pepperoni Pizza $11.00 and he liked his. COCKTAIL/BEER: I don't know the prices of these as my husband grabbed the tab. I don't remember the name of the awesome cocktail that Richard made, but for an airport drink, had more booze in it than at our local restaurant we frequent. It was tasty and yummy. I think it had pineapple, coconut and rum - a Pina Colada? Not sure, just get it! Located at the Honolulu International Airport Gate G (we were on United). Located in the airport, this was the closest restaurant near our gate. I ordered the BBQ chicken pizza and Bud Light, hubs had the Super cheese pizza with a Ling Island. My pizza was burnt, but didn't complain. The prices are like any place in the airport, pricey, but who cares? Lady would not let me sit even though I got a pizza because it was to-go. Waited for service for 10+ minutes and when i finally asked to order she said well you can't order there because no one is there when she was walking back and forth next to me for the time before that. She was going to accept other orders before me unless I spoke up. There is no clear location to place and order. I don't understand why I can't sit despite the seating area being completely open. I hate airport food, but I didn't have much of a choice. This was way more decent than burger king so we ended up here. It's expensive for 4 mini slices $10-$11 depending on the toppings, but again, what choices did I have?! Racist server! Myself and my family. (African American). We're waiting on our pizza to come. When the server (tall white lady) comes to us and says we need to leave the area and eat our food outside of the eating area because they were going to close. I explained i was waiting on my food. She says i still need to wait outside their area. The one problem is. There were two other white people sitting on the neighboring tables. She did not speak to them at all. And she actually allowed the lady to get her food and eat with no issue. My wife reported it to the manager. He apologized. But the server completely ignored us. Luckily, this Pizza Hut was near our gate where we boarded our flight from Honolulu to San Francisco for a 5 hour flight. We only had 15 minutes before boarding to look for food. We bought a mini cheese pizza here, which cost only about $6 (surprisingly affordable for an airport restaurant) and took 6 minutes to cook. My extremely PICKY son dug into that pizza as soon as we boarded the plane and ate the entire pie very happily. They were friendly, efficient, and the pizza passed the picky 4-year-old taste test. The Hawaii music reggae between soft rock (Flower Grown Wild by Bryan Adams care of Sound Hound) sounding clearly right above my head aloud the speakers ( wonder if it's Bose or JBL)...ah do I have to leave?! My feet wearing my still with sand flip flops tapping to the rhythm, my mind reminiscing the times at the beach, the laughs at bars, new and old friends, and memories made. And the times I thought of nothing but felt the warm sun on my skin and the aloha of the island. I giggle silently and let out a big smile, bite my lip, and think "Damn it was good times". This two star rating is solely based on the bar tender Dennis. He was one of the worst bar tenders I have ever dealt with. My husband ordered a double shot of Woodford and Dennis told him he doesn't have it so he proceeded to make an assumption that my husband would like crown which he doesn't at all. Since he already poured it my husband tried to take the drink but he couldn't, Dennis was clearly annoyed. The funny part is I saw a whole full bottle of Woodford on the shelf and showed my husband so he sent the drink back, Dennis was upset with us that we sent it back. Miraculously, Dennis found a bottle of Woodford that was already opened and made the drink that my husband originally wanted. Clearly we had to say something, he was staring us down and making it obvious that he did not like us. I hate to bring race into but I can't imagine why else he treated us so poorly without even knowing us. For the record Kim was our waitress and she was nothing short of amazing. Came over here to get a drink on Friday night. we were told it was the only place open until 9:30pm. We ran there and made it by 9:20 pm and the girl with the tattoos on the right arm refuse to serve us. She didn't even move away from the bar to talk to us. They won't serve us any food or drinks and we were told the bartender already left on his lunch. We asked for the manager and she went to get the bartender. He came over and was very confrontational. He pointed to some sign and said this is how it is and he has been running it this way for nine years. We asked for the manager again and he sent the girl to get him but she just walked over to the other side of the bar. 9:35 and still no manager. If the place closed at 9:30 pm then the bartender wouldn't be taking lunch at 9:20 pm.
