The best part about this restaurant is definitely the ambiance. The views of the beach are spectacular, even though there are birds from time to time. I have been here a few times already and I always order the Ricotta Calamansi Pancakes. They are my favorite and never disappoint. On my most recent visit I tried the Ube Cinnamon Roll and it was honestly to die for, so good. Service is also great. The only downside for me is the coffee, which is not quite as good as the rest of the menu.

Well, pretty indispensable restaurant - waterhole - near the pool and beach. First, bartenders are working hard to make the drinks. They do have Koloa rum available. On to the food. I was impressed with their tuna poke bowl. Good chunks of raw meat. Spiced and on a bed of rice. I've head them for two days in a row. Kids enjoyed crispy chicken strips. Strips were sizable.

We were staying at the Hilton Hawaiian Village for the weekend and the Hau Tree Bar was convenient and easy. We could have ordered via the poolside service but could never flag down the waitress, so I walked over to the bar and ordered from there. They have a lot of drinks and a lot of food options. We went with a couple that were kid friendly. We ordered the chicken fingers, a side of fries, and popcorn shrimp dynamite. The bartender was super friendly and gave me an approximate time when the food would be ready to come back. His timing was perfect and I was able to pick up the food within 15 minutes. The popcorn shrimp was very good. I would've liked a little bit of coconut but I know that's not everybody's taste. The french fries were good as soon as we got them, but as time went on, they became for sale. The chicken strips were simply chicken strips nothing special, but the kids enjoyed them. I would say for the ease of being at the pool all day and not having to go far to find food or drinks. The Hau tree bar is a great option. You can also come off the beach and eat/drink there. The only downside is the price but you pay for convenience.

Got the Shrimp PoBoy and it was pretty good honestly! The lemon-garlic sauce they have on there brings the flavor out really well! And there was a good amount of shrimp to fill you up. The Pina Colada was good, but you know, $15 for a cup feels like you getting played a little. But most of the drinks on the entire resort are $15 so it's not out of the ordinary.

Awesome vibes, great drinks, and friendly hospitable bartenders. This little bar is located within the large pool area of the Hilton Hawaiian Village resort, just before you cross into the Waikiki beach area. During our week stay at the Hilton Hawaiian Village resort, we spent just about every day at this poolside bar. They have poolside tables (which are family friendly) or limited seating at the bar. While there, we got to know many of the bartenders but the one that we spent most of our time talking with was Edy. He's been working at the resort for over 25 years. On one of our days we came to the bar just as Edy started his shift. Although we were coming for a single drink, Edy entertained us with stories, jokes and amused us while working the bar. We ended up staying for more than a drink. Edy made sure all of his guests were taken care of with drinks, food and water refills - in rapid time. If you're lucky, you may catch him perform his quarter trick or show you how to push a cup through a small hole in a napkin . We ended up having so much fun and stayed his entire shift, and an additional two hours afterward. Their cocktail menu is simple but they can mix up anything you ask. They also have some local beers and some of the usual domestic/imports. They also offer a small food menu. we tried their shrimp Po-Boy sandwich and their musubi's. Both were amazing but weren't made at the bar (they come from another restaurant on the resort). If you find yourself in the area, stop on by the bar for a quick drink. You may find yourself chatting with some of the locals Tony & Kelly, who frequently sit at the bar. They're a friendly couple that are good company and can offer good tips on things to do in the area.

Beautiful view it is small. Came for breakfast and food wasn't my favorite. Service was great.

Amazing cocktails but service was rushed, unfriendly and a bit rude. Would still go and enjoy the drinks and views!

What a great place to eat good for lunch good for dinner, and in Honolulu standards it's very inexpensive being right at the beach on one side and the pool on the other side. Cynthia was our waitress she was absolutely fabulous with as many customers as she had. Our food came out hot delicious can't go wrong with the chicken strips. And with the ambience so beautiful with the lights the pool the ocean what a perfect evening

I went here on my morning walk in Honolulu, and this place is special, in a great way!! The food was outstanding, I recommend the Xavier with oysters!!! The servers treat you fantastic, and the beach view is great! I wish I could go back to Hau Tree Bar every day!!

Ahi Limu Poke Bowl - tuna is okay - portion is tiny and expensive Spam Masubi - super basic - overpriced Pro Tip: - go to a nearby ABC store for spam Masubi at 1/3 if the price

Not really good restaurants. It's ok. Their chicken sandwich is horrible but the Philly steak is ok.

She made reservations for us, which is recommended. You check in on the first floor and are then escorted into the speakeasy. I won't share much more, as one should experience it themselves. But the ambiance is dim, semi-private, on-theme, and cozy yet lively. There's a bar area as well as the dining area where we sat. Service was fine. We were checked on periodically, but the food did take quite some time to come out. We shared some pupus, off their happy hour menu. We got the Smashed Cucumbers, House Karaage, and Sinigang Fries. The cucumbers weren't spicy, even though they were listed as spicy. It was more oily, but still crisp and refreshing. The fries were perfect for snacking on, with a nice sour-savory flavor from the sinigang. The karaage was extremely big! Not too crispy like usual, but still meaty. We also asked for six, but only received five pieces. My friend got the Lamb Ribs as well, which fell off the bone, and she seemed to enjoy them. My other friend and I shared the Ulu Taco Flight. We chose Suadero, Pork Belly, and Seafood as our protein. I enjoyed the seafood; it was lobster. It was sweet and mild but nicely cooked. The aioli was a nice addition. The pork belly was fine; it was quite spicy, which was a bit overpowering. My friend who had the beef taco said the wagyu was great but also quite spicy. The tacos themselves were quite small for the price. Overall, if you're into speakeasies or curious, Vintage Books is worth a visit at least once. The food is creative, and the drinks are good. Glad I could come and hang out with my friends. Find them on the ground floor. Parking is validated in the building; give your ticket to the host.

To my surprise, on a Sunday evening after having dinner nearby at Maze, my wife and I walked over to Bar Leather Apron and we were able to get seated right away! In fact, around 7:30 p.m. when we stopped by, there was actually a ton of seating available in the bar. Who would've guessed. If you're in the same boat as me and are unable to find a reservation for your upcoming visit, I would encourage you to stop by and try a walk-in. The first page of the menu lists a wide variety of whiskey based cocktails. Most -- if not all, of the cocktails are pre-fixed with BLA (Bar Leather Apron), and represent a collaboration with the named distillery. If you're fan of whiskey, you'll definitely have a difficult time picking only one. I ultimately ordered their "Take Warning" -- 2021 BLA Knob Creek BLA Single Barrel, Cynar, Carpano Antica, Mezcal, Bergamot Salt. Drinks here are not cheap -- averaging $20 to $25 per drink. Although my drink was very spirit forward, it still felt very well balanced. I appreciated the hint of smokiness from the mezcal that rounded out the end of a sip. Service here quick and friendly. When we received the check, a cute small chocolate snack was brought over as well, borrowed from the menu at Maze. Overall, I can see why Bar Leather Apron has earned so many accolades in its field. Definitely worth a stop by if you enjoy the art of mixology.

Tucked on the second floor of a Piikoi Parkway building, it feels like stepping back in time, a true bespoke bar with vintage art, moody lighting, and comfy couches that make it perfect for couples or a night out with friends. We sat at the bar, which was a highlight, Michael and Tony were welcoming, easy to talk story with, and clearly know their craft. I went with the Barreled Old Man, a smooth, layered mix of bourbon, rye, and brandy that just worked, while my wife's Sesame Veil brought a nutty, balanced flavor that stood out. For round two, the Espressing My Love was a great take on an espresso martini, and Michael built my wife a custom drink off her favorite flavors and nailed it again. We paired it with the smoked mozzarella and salami grilled cheese and Ho Farms tomato soup, and this is where it really hit. The sandwich came out hot and crisp, and when you took a bite the cheese pulled away just right, that perfect melt, with the salami adding a savory kick. The tomato soup was fresh, bright, and made for dipping you didn't want to stop. We were welcomed with a table that had our name on it, a small touch that goes a long way. Prices are on point for the quality and experience you're getting. It's a bit of a hidden, hip spot, not for a quick drink but for when you want to sit, relax, and enjoy it. Parking is tight, but you can park at Ala Moana and walk over, and it's worth it. Next time we're coming back for Grandma's Old Fashioned and the pork belly bao buns.
