    3 piece combo
    Aileen C.

Upon exiting the airport headed back to Washington state on 3/10/24, we decided stopped by to eat brunch as we were starving by then. The workers were nice and quick to serve us. We ordered the three piece fried chicken meal came with green beans, mash potatoes and corn. The food was flavorful and delicious.

Classic breakfast with scrambled eggs and Portuguese sausage (Dec 2025)
    Alan G.

Rating: 3.5 Wanted to grab a quick hot breakfast while waiting for my flight so stopped at Lahaina Chicken to get their Classic Breakfast, which included scrambled eggs, rice and choice of Portuguese sausage or bacon. PROS - The sausage was juicy and had a little kick - The two scoops of white rice were hot and fluffy - They will provide packets of Aloha soy sauce and Tabasco CONS - The eggs were overcooked and under seasoned for my taste - The plate only came with 3 slices of sausage Overall, a decent airport breakfast but their lunch/dinner options are better. Service was friendly and efficient as well.

Didn't expect my meal to be so delicious. Got the roast chicken and pot roast, gravy on the side. The chicken was moist and delicious, the pot roast was tender, didn't need a knife. The mashed potatoes were okay. The portions are huge, plate was heavy, mister and I split. Definitely recommend.

Been awhile.. this add-on the Lahaina Chicken corner is new to me.

The place has morphed from a one-offer location to three different food menus, with one being a grab and go. Not sure if the pizza or grab and go is part of LC, but these additions add delicious alternatives in case you aren't feeling hungry for chicken. Gluten-free pizza crust available. Nice. Yet I was drawn to return here by the memory of good value for good food, and the fact that I can put my tired feet up, in a booth, at the way back the restaurant. Floor was sticky. It took a minute to be recognized but that's because the cafe worker was cleaning the food line in detail. Crispy, juicy, tasty fried chicken, yummy freshly cooked green beans, creamy mashed potatoes and delectable gravy... I think this is really one of the best food spots at HNL. The cafeteria-style service is pleasant, and the employees are friendly enough. "$1 more and you get 3 pieces of chicken", I was advised when I initially requested the 2 piece combo plate. Sure. Why not? I could save the extra for dinner. If you are going to spend $30 for a lunch at the airport, you might as make sure you choose a place that offers food well-made, with an extra splash of fatty goodness... so treat yo'self! I'd return again.

3 piece chicken with double mash and Hawaiian macaroni salad.

My favorite fried chicken place has gone down in quality. Maybe it was the timing. At 11:00 am, they only had 5 pieces of chicken and I ordered a three piece meal with double mash & gravy and macaroni salad. I had to ask if they added gravy and they did but only on one scoop of mash. The macaroni salad was mashed under the chicken. I tore off the skin of the wing to see if it was dry. It was not. It had a good chunk of meat. The macaroni salad was completely mushed but it was there. I think I mentioned that already. Hmmm... not very appealing but tasted right, just not as hot and tasty. I will definitely give them another try next time because this use to be my favorite. Looked like the same staff. However, you cannot go wrong with a cold bottle of Diet Coke.

The food looked amazing but I believe they served us the leftovers from the previous night. Quick and fast service and something more substantial for airport food.

Where at the Honolulu airport can one meal feed two starving adults? . We had gotten up at 530am to catch a 730am Uber to San Francisco Airport for a 945am flight to Honolulu. Arrived at 145pm Honolulu time or 345pm California time having had only a breakfast bowl on Alaska Airlines. Two starving adults. Line at the Lahaina chicken at Honolulu airport. Needed to keep my blood sugar from spiking, so no corn, no white rice, no mashed potatoes, and no fried chicken. Ordered the $18.99 roast pork combo, with green beans, peas-carrots, and salad, with ranch dressing, for the wife and I. Service is immediate, as all vegetables sitting in vats of hot water, with the meat on the cutting board. You go through a line at the counter, picking out your food as you go. No table service. The green beans were tasteless, and on the mushy side, sitting too long in the hot water vat, and needed some salt. Cooked Green Giant canned green beans would have been an improvement. The peas-carrots were decent, temperature hot, firm and tasty. Salad was fresh and not wilted. The pork was warm, tender, tasty and delicious, with minimal grist and minimal fat. About the same price as the Ala Moana branch of Lahaina Chicken, so minimal airport surcharge. Didn't order any rotisserie chicken as we would be catching a 345pm flight to Lihue Kauai, picking up our rental car by 545pm, stopping by for a 48 oz $4.99 Costco chicken at around 615pm, before arriving at our timeshare in Poipu Kauai to eat at 7pm, or 9pm California time. The Longest Day.

One last meal before we bid Aloha, and boy was it tasty...at the Airport! Inside was bright and clean, and displayed behind the counter was lichon, roast chicken and fried chicken. Unfortunately no signage showed that they offered lichon; I had to ask if I could order a side after I had paid already. Some in our group got Starbucks (feta wrap; boring), another got pizza at CPK (just as boring), but I bucked the trend and got the 3-pc fried chicken (dark meat) with 3 sides: white rice, canned corn and frozen green beans. No complaints though, cuz the fried chicken was hot and juicy bite after bite. I did like the fact that you can order all white or all dark meat. Also ordered 6oz. Of lichon; fatty for the most part, but tender. I did wish the skin of the fried chicken was crispier like Jollibees, but hey, for Airport food it was satisfying. I would do this again the next time we ate here; until then, Aloha!

I was super hungry when I had a layover in Hawaii. I walked around the whole airport looking for something delicious to eat. I was really happy. I found this place. I haven't been to Hawaii yet. This will be the closest food to get to comfort food in this airport. I actually didn't get the chicken, I got the roasted pork. I do not regret it. I didn't get to finish it on my long flight to Guam but boy I microwave it in my hotel room and it was still really soft and delicious when I go to Hawaii, I'm going to definitely eat this food Again.

I had a layover at HNL right around lunch time. Saw they had pretty good portions on Yelp and it did not disappoint. We got the roast pork plate and white meat fried chicken plate. They were both juicy and tender. Definitely not blow your mind but probably the best airport food I've ever had. You definitely need to get the mashed potatoes and ask for extra gravy! I'd you've ever been to Jollibee you know why!The other sides were decent but the mac salad was actually pretty darn good. It's basically the same price as a burger from the fast food joint next door but you get a boatload of food. Two people could easily share! The only downside is there don't seem to be any seats but we were able to eat in an airport lounge. I would 100% recommend stopping by if you're in Terminal A!!

Pork with mashed potatoes and Mac salad

Food options are very limited at the airport. Therefore we try to hold our expectations to a lower standard with the few options. We decided to give Lahaina Chicken a try. They serve breakfast until 9:30am. Then after that it changes to their lunch menu which typically consists of your choice of protein and choice of 3 sides. The employees are not the warmest of bunches. When we had requested for macaroni salad as one of our sides, they shut us down and said there's no Mac and cheese. Please pay attention before rudely correcting us, staff are no listening to us order by assuming we said Macaroni and cheese when we actually ordered the macaroni salad. The roast pork was surprisingly delicious for airport food. However the mashed potatoes and gravy were bland. Its taste was similar to that of powdered mash with watered down gravy.

Before my 12:00 p.m. flight, I stopped by Lahaina Chicken right next to my gate to pick up some food to go. I considered getting the mixed combo plate which allows you to select two different meats, but the prime rib under the heat lamp looked extremely dry so I ultimately went with a three piece chicken plate. I like that you are able to select either light meat or dark meat for your chicken pieces. I opted for dark and got two drumsticks and a thigh piece. I was lucky with my timing and ended up ordering right as a fresh batch of chicken was brought out. The chicken here is delicious! The inside is super juicy and the outside is light, crunchy, not over salted, nor oily tasting. Hours later on my flight, I did not feel thirsty, something I often feel after eating greasy, salty fried chicken. My entree came with two sides and a carb, so I got the mashed potatoes with gravy along with mixed steamed veggies and mac salad. The steamed veggies and the mashed potatoes were nothing special. The mac salad unfortunately had too much dressing and tasted a bit soggy. While the sides were a flop, the chicken is good enough for me to recommend stopping by for a bite.

    Mushroom Chicken with sides
    Justis T.

Not the best chicken we've ever tried, but it's tasty, the portions are large, and the price is fair (as far as airport prices are concerned). While we don't try it, there did appear to be more on display for purchase than what was listed in the menu--to include meat options that didn't appear to be chicken. The sides (e.g., mashed potatoes, white rice, corn, and green beans) are rather basic, but the format of picking three of the available sides and then one's protein ensures that the line moves quickly. There is a decent sized seating area (~50 people) behind the ordering area that is shared with the local market and Starbucks. I ordered the mushroom chicken (a quarter of moist chicken with bones cooked in some type of "cream of mushroom" gravy).

They're not stingy either, nice portion size and a hearty amount of meat on each short rib too 3) big shrimp potstickers: 11/10 - succulent pork & shrimp filling filled to the brim of wrapper! Very on brand because these buggahs was massive and sooo tasty! Classic potsticker taste and there's a whole shrimp in there too, paired with their shoyu vinegar (I think) sauce and wooo this one was winnnahz ‍ 4) charsui udon: 10/10 - nice & chewy udon noodles and absolutely loaded with charsui and veggies that were so wonderfully stir fried allowing them to soften just a little but remain crispy, adding another layer of texture to the dish and ensuring you get a nice little crunch in every bite! 5) kau yuk (caramelized pork belly): 10/10 - big chunks of sweet & savory pork belly, but not as sweet as the name would have you think. It's actually perfectly balanced, you can definitely taste some authentic asian spices going on in there, and the meat was nice and tender Service: 11/10 We ordered take out but you can absolutely dine in if you wanted to, plenty of booths and/or tables to choose from. The burger itself tasted good as it was cooked with bread mixed in it to make it soft but once you started eating it, the burger fell apart. The bun was thin so it was messy as the sauce and burger started falling out and you needed a lot of napkins. Some people like it messy but it's not my thing. The onions and pickles were a perfect match. Too much American cheese. ________________________________________________ The Premium Purists: 5/10 I was looking forward to trying the burger at Forty Niners and hoped it would be an old fashioned/traditional style deluxe burger. It definitely had the look and right toppings but the patty was a little disappointing. After my first two bites the patties crumbled into pieces and the texture seemed off. It was too mushy and lacked good beef flavor. After learning they mix breadcrumbs in their burger patty, I think the patties I got were not mixed well and the ratio of beef and breadcrumb was off. That is probably why the texture was off, it lacked beef flavor, and crumbled. I would honestly give it another try and go with a single patty. ________________________________________________ The stack analyst: 7/10 Tried the double cheeseburger(dirty style) at 49ers and it was delicious. The fried pickles were the highlight for me. I love fried pickles and they worked really well on the burger. They also didn't hold back on the caramelized onions, which added flavor. The burger had four slices of cheese, so it was definitely rich. The patty had a nice sear on the outside, it did fall apart though. I would've liked a little more salt, but I know that comes down to preference. Bun was nothing special, just your standard setup, but it got the job done. I'd definitely come back and order it again! ________________________________________________ Double stack daddy: 6/10 The burger had a solid foundation, but it was missing flavor and could've used more seasoning. The biggest downside was the bun--it fell apart after the first bite, making the rest of the meal messy. Not a bad burger, but it didn't stand out, and there's definitely room for improvement. ________________________________________________ Bruddah big buns: 4/10 Da patty was mushy. ________________________________________________ Captain messy hands, keeper of the drip: 8/10

One thing I can never skip out on is the roasted squash ravioli. It is incredible! Their happy hour deals are the best with drink specials, 50% off small plates, and $12 pizzas. I also recommend the smashburger and subbing garlic truffle oil fries it always hits the spot. Parking is really easy in the SALT Kakaako parking lot the first hour is free and they validate. The staff is always super welcoming and go the extra mile. I love that they have live music it just adds to the chill ambiance. I have been here more times than I can count, but I can't wait to go back and try other items on the menu!

I ordered the Birria Pizza which was that days Pizza Special and my friend ordered the Banh Mi Fish Sandwich. Didn't take too long to receive our food. The Birria pizza was delicious and very flavorful, but I think it would be even better if it came with consome to dip the pizza in. My friend enjoyed his Banh Mi, but did state that the bread was too soft and got soggy so he couldn't eat it with his hands like you normally would. He did enjoy the flavor and appreciated the spiciness and fresh ingredients. We also shared Garlic Truffle Oil Fries which are my favorite to get. Especially when dipped in the house made ketchup (so good) and the mustard aioli.

Breakfast is served all day and the prices are extremely competitive compared to their pricier neighbors. I decided to go with the hamburger steak plate for $11 but added on roast pork for a 2 item combo which added an additional $5.... Which caught be by surprise considering the hamburger was a frozen patty most likely bought from Sam's or costco The stars I'm giving is for the portion size...I was highly disappointed with the servingo the roast pork I added to my plate, it was literally like fewest amount of shredded pieces, now I know roast pork isn't the most expensive thing to make, so a decent portion would have been nice. I know it's a little on the cheaper side for plate lunches but I feel like that should hinder on the portion size. The service was fast and friendly and the store itself is a tiny spot good for grab and go breakfast and lunches. I might end up giving them another shot but we shall see.
