Single Plate with brisket
Taylor F.

Friendly service but just average bbq. I got the one choice plate with brisket and rice and tater salad for my sides. The brisket was pretty dry and didn't have much flavor without the bbq sauce. The tater salad was really good though and had a lot of dill flavor. My coworker got a two choice plate and got double brisket but only got one more piece of brisket than the single choice plate. Some other coworkers got the mac and cheese for their side and said it was just ok. Overall an ok spot for lunch, service was quick and welcoming, but nothing really special especially for the price.

This experience was pretty darn great! The greeting at the door was pleasant and welcoming. The employees were very friendly and happy to explain each item they offered. It was a smooth order and we enjoyed the tasty barbecue! Thank you !

Dinner in Honolulu, Hawaii... We tried to go to the new Pepper Lunch at Moanalua Shopping Center, but the line was long. I had been to the Las Vegas location with my Twinsie, Joyce W. of Arizona... and i have happy memories of Pepper Lunch... Anyway... TEX 808 BBQ & Brews was along the strip of businesses. There was no line and several tables were available. It was relatively clean, bright and nicely air-conditioned. Service was alright. We heard the cashier offer BBQ sauce to other customers, "spicy, mild, or sweet). We weren't offered any sauce. I was looking around for a condiment area, but only found salt and pepper shakers. My friend asked for sauce and was offered spicy or mild. All three of us got the mild sauce which was a bit tangy. When we heard that there was a sweet sauce, my friend stood up again to ask for the sweet sauce and only got one container. Later, my friend asked for hand wipes. The staff pointed to a can of wipes. I ordered the Double meat plate which comes with two sides. I chose brisket and ribs... and corn and slaw. The sauce made the tender meats flavorful. The slaw could use more seasoning. The corn was great! Overall, it was a filling and pleasant experience. We chatted for a while before the staff started to put chairs on the tables at 7pm. This restaurant is supposed to close at 8pm. We're appreciative of the free shared parking!

Turkey pesto Melt Double Plate Pulled Pork Brisket Mac

Oooo brah! To start off, the customer service is excellent. The lady at the front counter explained the menu in full detail and was very helpful. But to cut to the chase, the reason I am giving this place 2.5 stars nah sike this getting 1 star the flavor and the pricing.Holy crap, I felt like I got robbed at the front counter. The portion of food I received is absolutely not worth the $60 price tag for some bland-ass food. The only redeeming part was the Turkey Pesto Melt. The flavor on that was on point, and it was perfectly toasted. But how in the HELL does a sandwich have more flavor than the expensive plate?First off, how do you mess up the brisket? It has zero flavor, and it is overcooked and dry. It's drier than an overcooked turkey on Thanksgiving. As for the pulled pork, mac & cheese, and coleslaw? It's not just bad it's damn near terrible. If you want to know what school cafeteria food tastes like, come here. I swear the mac, coleslaw, and pork taste exactly like school food. To say I am very, very, very, very dissatisfied is an understatement. Honestly, chewing through this food completely ruined my day. Also the sweet tea GODDAUMMM First sip though I was gonna get heart disease due to how sweet it is

I was really excited to try this place because I've been wanting to go for awhile. Went around 4p -n- was excited that it was Happy Hour. We weren't greeted when we walked in (no one else was there), but the cashier was very nice when she rang us up. We got the burnt ends with a side of Mac -n- cheese, the pork sliders, a pork taco, -n- the brisket taco. We also got the banana pudding. Sad to say, the food was just...meh. The brisket -n- burnt ends were on the dry side, -n- so was the mac -n- cheese. The pork was ok. The banana pudding was also ok. I would go back again though, to try everything else on the menu, because we love barbecue.

I wanted to like it, since I was really craving BBQ and my go to spot around the corner was closed today. I'd compare it to a Dickeys. The pork and brisket were on the dry side, I would blame it on being under a heater for the day but I went around 11am, so it shouldn't have tasted as dry as it was. Mac n cheese was average. The slaw was a vinegar base but didn't really have much on it, so it tasted like straight cabbage. Overall, average chain type fast food bbq. Wasn't bad, wasn't good.

Pulled Pork with baked beans and Mac and cheese
Kainani K.

Definitely a different experience! Being from Oahu, I thought the pulled pork would be similar to Kalua Pork but it isn't. There wasn't much flavor to it. However, if you eat the pork with the baked beans, it's absolutely delicious! I'm so happy I got the Mac and cheese with it because it's so creamy and delicious. The overall plate was good, and I'll definitely be back to try the brisket; they were sold out by the time we stopped by.

First time trying here... dinner
Gail U.

First time here to order for dinner. We decided to share a Triple plate. Order came out fast and when you open the lid of the carton it looks full and worth the price of $30+. Growing up and as a grown up used to the taste of Tony Romas, Big City Diner, Ruby Tuesday and Chicken In A Barrel, the taste did not entice me but it was pull apart tender for the meat choices. I liked the Cole slaw. The corn looked yummy but I had to abstain due to dietary restrictions at present so more for hubs. Lucky guy. Taste is a personal preference so you might just adore their food a lot.

RIP OFF!!! $60 for 3 choice, 2 taco, 2 can soda and banana pudding. Double brisket & pork ribs plate Mac n cheese, Cole slaw as our sides Brisket so dry! No flavor. There was a thick slab of fat on the brisket yet it was soooooo dry. I don't eat pork however husband said that was dry and tastes better than brisket. Mind u they charge $3 more per brisket order. It was so bad that I took maybe 6 small bites and submerged it in the bbq sauce. Even that didn't help. WHAT A WASTE! Wanted to order a small rice which was 8oz and to my disbelief $5.50? For 1 scoop. WILD. SO WILD!!!! Tacos looked pretty but didn't taste great. When the meat is dry. Banana pudding. sooo sad. 8oz of banana cream pudding with 3 NILLA wafers and 3 slices of banana. Are u kidding me? $6 for that? Good note: the employees are really friendly. Place is very clean. They have a tv. But ..... I am here for the food!

Had to try the Street Tacos, 1lb brisket, half pound sausage, corn & Mac n cheese. fricken ono!

The guava bar was delicious and flavorful and just crumbles in your mouth! Definitely one of the better guava bars I've tried. Love how crumbly it is. The salmon belly was delicious OMFG. It looks so simple and straightforward but that sht is so flavorful. It is crispy and yet soft on the inside. The salmon belly is cut into bite-sized pieces so I didn't have to worry about using a knife to cut it. I usually try salmon belly where it is usually seasoned lightly to bring out the natural flavor of the salmon, but Guava Smoked's salmon belly is just grilled in a way that makes the salmon sweet/crispy and still get traces of the salmon taste as well. It's definitely not your traditional Japanese-style way of cooking salmon belly but really just their own. I'd go back and get this again. Another thing too. I'd get this with beer. This would hit very hard with alcohol but because I don't drink I need a kombucha. The grilled salmon belly would go perfect with it. Cheers! Uncle was very helpful and kind when serving and if you dine-in he brings it to your table.

This place makes their soondae in house as I can tell the difference with frozen soondae and non-frozen ones. Until I go to Korea to try the real thing, this is the best I can get. I definitely think they improved their recipe from the first time I tried it. The aunties here are still very nice but as always give grace because it does get busy here and one aunty would have to take care of multiple tables and party size as well. Overall I'll be coming here whenever I need my soondae fix!! If you haven't tried, definitely come and try! I still need to try the acye here with friends one day!

The food is good, I love AYCE BBQ and all of the meat they provide is EXCELLENT, especially the pork/samgyupsal. The only thing they can beat at is the beef tongue, while it is still very good, Gyu Kaku has better beef tongue but it's just expensive so not worth it at all. Their banchan is great, I am a fan of the Kim Chi they serve here, it has a nice funk to it and a subtle sourness that cuts through the well marbled meat you'll be eating. The Kim Chi soup is also great as well, just as a warning, if you rarely eat kimchi you WILL have increased bowel movements which is not food poisoning but it's the probiotic gut health nature of Kim Chi that flushes you out. So eat it in moderation. My favorite picks are the Pork Jowl/Brisket/Bulgogi/Beef Belly, you literally cannot miss with whatever you pick, it's all very tasty and easy to eat. The service is awesome and feels homy, all the auntys walk around and do their own thing and sometimes check up on you/restock your banchan/soup if you want them to. They have a button you can press to ring them up but you rarely need to do it. If you're not used to how asian auntys talk or behave please don't take it negatively, they express themselves in a brusque manner but they really mean the best. Overall, great meat, great service, great parking space and convenient. The last time I found an awesome tasty spot and wanted to gatekeep it was Seasons Taiwanese Eatery.
