Second time coming here and the doubles are delicious! Airy, pillowy soft and comforting. The boneless chicken roti was ok. Great flavours but about 6 layers of roti folded up at the bottom. The square wrap was about 5" big and the roti texture itself was stretchy and similar to a tortilla wrap. The dhalpouri is the same thick roti with many chewy layers and a little bit of Dahl. I recommend getting the doubles!

Our first meal of the trip was to Island Foods as family in town have been many times. It's a family run restaurant that specializes in Caribbean food. They have another location out in Markham. We dropped in on a late Monday (around 1:00pm) to grab takeout. Didn't see a single soul eat in. Line up to order at the counter, then pay. The menu consists of snacks, dinners and rotis. - 4x Boneless goat roti ($10.99) - this is the relatives go to order. - Boneless goat dinner ($12.95) - all three sides were mute and one-dimensional. Never tasted such uninspiring flavours. The goat was a touch on the dry side. - Oxtail (stew) dinner ($13.50) - the better of the two dinner options. Oxtail had more flavour. Cash or debit only. 2.5 stars.

We've drove by Island Foods so many times and finally decided to go inside. All I got to say is, I finally have found a restaurant that has curry that compares to my mom's. I got the boneless curry chicken and it was so delicious. So tasty, flavourful and just the right amount of heat. My boyfriend got the jerk chicken which he enjoyed, although it tasted more like a jerk chicken stew. Will definitely be back to try other items off the menu.

I've been a customer for about 3 years; their service and food quality never disappoints! My favorite is their oxtail. Unlike other restaurants all the oxtail they serve look intact but still manage to serve them fall-off-the-bone tender! When I do visit I always get a container of oxtail only to go. As mentioned earlier I am amazed each time by the quality control and portion they put in that container, there are very little broken pieces! I also love their channa and doubles (not pictured), so do give them a try!

Every time when we visit Toronto, my partner has to come here and have their roti. It's like a tradition now. At first I didn't understand why, but after a couple of times, I realized that this place not only offers affordable food, but also making the effort to get to know their customers. We were there for about half an hour, and three different groups of people came in are all regulars. They were taking to the staff sharing their holiday stories, it was very pleasant to hear how much they know about their customers. We ordered the boneless chicken roti with a side drink. The chicken was tender and juicy, with the right amount of

Mom & pop type shop, good service and they have delicious roti gravy that you could almost drink from a cup.

As a child seeing the Island Foods stand at the EX every summer was a give in, something I could just depend on. Then they stopped partaking, then they closed the Dufferin and King location. Now I cherish being able to test myself to their Chana and Spinach roti or a Double. Pair it with a Peanut pinch or a ring...happy place. Get one of their dinner combos..the goat is always tender and add spinach and a dhalpouri roti on the side so you can try it all. you won't be disappointed.

    Boneless chicken roti- yummy!!

I came here after my husband kept telling me the roti was amazing obviously I had to see if he was right or not. I am happy to say I have eaten my words and they were delish! I ordered the boneless chicken roti with some extra gravy on top (thanks to my fellow yelpers reviews) and boy was it mouthwatering. The filling is a potato mixture with some just right seasoning and big chunks of white meat chicken. My only one critique would be perhaps smaller chicken pieces? But, really the roti was yummy nonetheless. If your going to eat in, extra gravy is a must- a must you hear me! I'm happy to say this location has gained another regular customer.

ive missed this place! not as good as i remembered...the patties were a bit stale and the foods lacked a pinch of salt but over all, still delicious! we ordered the spinach & poatoe roti, chicken roti, 2 beef patties & extra gravy on the side. the lady and gentleman working were quite nice and friendly.

Hot and muggy day! Great to have some Caribbean/West Indies Food that make me feels like I am on one of the Islands dipping in the turquoise ocean... X Hot! I screamed when I ordered my Goat Roti. How is XHot achieved? not by extra spices but just adding Xhot sauce, maybe I could have done it myself. Goat was quite tender.. Roti is thin and not too doughy... Just wish my Cola Champagne is really champagne... Just wish I am really eating some food on an Island... Just wish me and my lunch date are both in bathing suit by the pool... Then he woke me up by making me eat this doughy Beef patty... Just wish my patty is flaky...

There is an Island Foods in my 'hood (King Street W/Dufferin) and I love their chicken rotis. Stacey, my colleague, also likes their rotis so we've been trying to figure out how to get there for lunch. She and I had a meeting this afternoon in Concord and she suggested that we have lunch along the way at Island Foods at their Don Mills Road location. I didn't know they had a Don Mills Road location ... whoohoo! We both ordered chicken rotis with "gravy" on top. It tasted a little different than the ones I've had at their other location (a stronger curry flavour) and it was delicious!

Doubles make me so happy! Was very happy to find them here when picking up an order. I love doubles and I love Toronto so together my belly is in paradise! Was visiting from the states (TX) so of course we don't have a lot of spots like this. Great customer service with a smile! They probably couldn't help it since I may have been grinning from cheek to cheek. Check out the doubles, patties or roti here when in the area!

Tried this place on a whim, just had a craving for jerk chicken and didn't want to drive for it, this was the first thing that popped up, and I remember seeing this from driving by it "all the time" The first time I had this ordered to my place, the food's scent absolutely permeated once we got the items out of the bag, the flavors were even better. this food brought me back to my childhood and all of the summer bbq's growing up with friends from multiple islands. One time I came in here in person, to grab some food, and the service was top notch, but ordering in person had a bit more options which lead to me looking like an idiot ordering the same thing I did through skip. The hot sauce is absolutely perfect as well, please bottle this and sell it Seperately. There's next to no sitting area here, and with this tight plaza of 11 business' you would be best to grab the food and go. I have no photos, even though I say the phone eats first, once the smell hits my nose, it's game over. no photos, no witness'(lol) Absolutely one of my favorite spots now for food, slowly climbing into my personal top 10 in Toronto, please don't change anything with the food, everything is perfect.

I got the curry chicken which I thoroughly enjoyed the flavor of the chicken inside, my problem was with the roti. As I cut more into the roti, it looked as though it wasn't cooked properly like patches of dry flour throughout to the point it didn't look appealing. I also grabbed a double which I enjoyed, they are much bigger than the ones I get at home in Va. I never had a Trini soda ~ Solo kola champagne which tastes very similar to the Jamaican version. The gentleman at the front counter was very nice and patient. The decor was definitely a Trini island feel. Bright colors and hand painted pictures.
