    Shaved ice at the park
    Angela T.

Island Ice came to a summer gathering of my parenting group and it was such a great experience! John did a tabletop set up at the park and managed all of the kids' flavour requests with patience! Everyone enjoyed their shaved ices! Working with John was a breeze, he was extremely communicative by email and showed up promptly to set up!

Have used this company twice and both times have had a great experience! John shows up on time, serves generous portions and delicious shave ice, and is easy to work with. Kids and adults both enjoyed, lots of flavor options, and can even opt for an ice cream base and snow cap (highly recommend both! ). Great addition to any party and guests complimented us both times, give your party a boost and use them!

small shave ice - half POG/half blue raspberry, vanilla ice cream, no condensed milk

We were having a Hawaiian themed baby shower and thought it would be fun to have a pop-up element for the guests. There are several shave ice vendors out there, but I wanted to make sure we booked an authentic tasting shave ice and not a snow cone type of consistency. Fortunately, Island Ice is parked in front of Coconuts Fish Cafe in Cupertino on Wednesday evenings during the summer so we got to go and check them out before inquiring about catering. The trailer at Coconuts offers a small and large size, optional vanilla ice cream and condensed milk drizzle, and lots of flavors to choose from. I loved how soft the ice is and how they have flavors like POG (Passion/Orange/Guava) which I missed so much from our previous trips to Hawaii. After tasting the shave ice, we decided to book them for our baby shower. Pam was very responsive and we were able to get everything done via email including contract and deposit. You can choose to book the trailer or have it served table top -- no difference in price. On the day of, they showed up on time and had everything set up and broken down per the times indicated on the contract. The shave ice was a huge hit especially given the warmer weather! Our guests were going back for seconds and thirds. I would definitely recommend booking Island Ice for your next event or at least try to catch them while they're still conveniently parked at Coconuts.

What a wonderful treat for a hot evening. Lots of flavors to choose from. Got both add ones (ice cream and snow cap) that added extra flavor! They are located in the parking lot of The Coconut Grill. You can get dinner at the Coconut Grill and have dessert at Island Ice without having to leave the parking lot!

Mango, Pineapple & Blue Hawaiian with snow cap and vanilla ice cream :)

Hawaiian shave ice in Bay Area ! My husband and I both loved the shave ice we tried at this newly opened food truck/trailer. We've tried shaved ice in other places before in the Bay and nothing was as good as Island Ice's :) this is was the one that came closest to the ones we had in Hawaii :) They have plenty of flavor options and their coconut icecream was really good! I loved the mango and pineapple favors. They have a condensed milk topping which is really good too! The owners seemed friendly and they cater for events too! My husband has a big sweet tooth and felt that this is as good as it gets! If you have never tried shave ice before, you should definitely try this place :) If you miss the ones you've had while vacationing, you should try Island Ice :)

We came after a meal, and ordered a chocolate monster sulbing and tiramisu sulbing. We thoroughly enjoyed both of them! For example, the chocolate monster one has ice cream nestled away at the bottom, as well as another layer of cocoa powder. We'll definitely be coming back to try other flavors!

There was plenty of seating available when I visited after 7 PM, and it wasn't too crowded. We ordered the watermelon bingsoo, which came with a can of Milkis. The bingsoo was topped with plenty of fresh watermelon cubes, and everything tasted incredibly fresh and refreshing. It was the perfect dessert for a warm evening and not overly heavy after dinner. The cafe felt clean, organized, and relaxed, and the self-service setup made everything quick and convenient. If you're looking for a refreshing Korean dessert in downtown Mountain View, Sulbing is definitely worth a visit.

Open on Sundays only from 11 am - 3 pm. They only put two tables outside so you're at the mercy of others leaving. There's a stack of outdoor tables but only for use when Jin Sho is open. M E N U Kakigōri: Japanese shaved ice Flavors: Strawberry, mango, matcha, hōjicha, and peach (last day today) Two sizes: Mini Cup ($9-$11), Bowl ($12-$14) Oat milk syrup: +$1 K A G I K Ō R I I was so bummed that the peach was sold out. There was no IG post it was the last day of this offering and there would be limited quantities. * Mango (Bowl-$13): https://tinyurl.com/24vuz3mk The shaved ice was snow-like, perfectly fluffy and melt in your mouth. Great texture but sadly, there was very little of it. As we dug in, the mound of shaved ice had a huge hollow hole filled with whipped cream and coconut jelly. Served with four chucks of sweet, ripen mango and topped with toasted coconut. We usually struggle to finish one kakigōri but this was gone in several bites so we ordered an another one. * Strawberry (Bowl-$12): https://tinyurl.com/5dwpx4mw Equally refreshing but also had a huge hollow hole. This one was filled with whipped cream and two QQ mochi balls. The fresh strawberries were ripe and the strawberry puree ran quite sweet. Overall, excellent quality Kakigōri but premium baller PA pricing for the portion. The amount of actual shaved ice is a small fraction of what you receive at other dessert shops. Blame it on the tariffs, I guess.

They offer a variety of drinks, from lattes to milk teas to shakes. Some of my favorites include the Mocha Latte and Ube Milk Tea. The only disappointment was the Mermaid, but I'm not a green tea drinker so maybe it's just not my taste. The drinks lean sweet, so for those who prefer less sugar than me (i.e. most people), you should adjust accordingly. Meanwhile, the desserts are just as diverse and delicious. I enjoyed the Ube Cashew Brownie and Milo Cupcake, but would recommend the Ube Leche Flan Cupcake for your first visit. One trend across their offerings is the use of Filipino flavors like ube, Milo, and sweet corn. It makes them stand out in the crowded cafe & boba market. On the other aspects.. the store itself isn't too big but is well-decorated. There's not much seating so most will just order to-go. The service is usually quick so that's not an issue. Overall, I highly recommend checking out Café 86, as I'm pretty sure you'll find something you like.
