There are plenty of boba chains in the Bay Area. What I appreciate about Teaspoon is how frequently they are updating their menu with fun, exciting options. Currently they're featuring chai drinks; I haven't seen anyone else with a Cookie Butter Chai. And even with the variety, the baseline quality is pretty high. The sugar is usually just right, and I'm satisfied with the tea & coffee. Having said this, if you have specific preferences, then Teaspoon is unlikely to be the "best" option for any one. Teaspoon have been experimenting with some snacks too. I only tried the Waffle Dipper, and it was enjoyable with the Sea Salt Foam to contrast the sweetness. I'd like to try the Bites and Mochi Donuts in the future. This particular location only has outdoor seating, but the interior is sufficient for ordering & waiting. The service is generally good too. There was one day where they had a mishap with their fridge, meaning a bunch of menu items were unavailable, but they were able to manage the situation without too much customer dissatisfaction. read more

I got the White Grape Oolong Tea. It came out within 10 minutes. The tea with 10% sugar mostly tastes like tea. Next time I'll get 25% sugar. The tea by itself is okay honestly. The shop has no place to sit inside. There are 2 tables and a bench outside for sitting. I recommend this place if you're in need for a 10 PM boba craving. Nice, chill plaza to walk around in. Since then, it's been exciting to watch their incredible growth outside the Bay Area and keep innovating with consistently new items on their menu that are always aesthetic first; you cannot order a drink that does not look good! (Mango on Fire: A+) - This is the best variation of the mango smoothie drink that could exist; it's undisputed. The chamoy brings such a flavorful spice that has a saline contrast to the sweet mango, a heat to contrast the icy slush, and a passionate red to beautify the yellow aesthetically. This drink is addictingly palatable, without being overly filling such as HeyTea's Mango Coconut Boom. (Coconut Coffee: B) - I love their expansion into the coffee space at the same time of when I started drinking coffee. I think the blend of coconut and coffee works well being two strong flavors that do not overpower one another. Teaspoon's drinks aren't mind-blowing, but when you have a tea craving, they're good enough to hit the spot. Their black, green, and oolong milk teas taste proper and competently made. (Skip their Thai Tea though -- it's generic, pre-made stuff that's overly sweet.) I also like how if you dig deep into their menu, there's the option to custom-design your own tea with more obscure flavors like Earl Grey. Also, credit the Los Altos location for being the best of the Teaspoons. They have more reasonable pricing than the Palo Alto branch, they stay open the latest (11:00 PM), and just about everyone I've encountered working here in the past ten years has seemed pretty dang nice. This is an average boba spot overall. The drinks are good and reliable, which is why I keep coming back. I have always enjoyed the passion fruit tea because it is refreshing and consistently tasty. During the summer they offered some watermelon drinks that I really liked as well. The flavors were bright and perfect for hot days. Unfortunately, the service at this location leaves a lot to be desired. It can be slow and sometimes the staff seem inattentive or distracted. That definitely takes away from the overall experience. I have been to their Palo Alto location and found the service there to be much better, which makes a big difference. If you are mainly interested in good drinks and can overlook the service, this spot works. But if you want a smoother experience, I would recommend going to the Palo Alto location instead. read more

I enjoyed the Taro lovers as it had chunks of real taro inside as well as the Crystal boba I paired with it. I've been on a tear lately switching out regular boba to either Crystal or Aiyu Jelly. Boba drink without any topping in general is just so generic- you need a sidekick topping to pair with your drink. Service was friendly and easy to order using touch pad. Come time to pay I tried inserting my debit card because I didn't know where to tap for payment but apparently it was able to read my card by tapping near the car insertion device on the side although there was no label indicating where to exactly tap your card. Some have it directly on the screen but this system did not. Nobody was around so I went outside and sat on one of their tables and enjoyed my drink. Happy Five Star Friday! This is one of the first Teaspoon locations I remember in the South Bay. Always consistent on quality and customer service and lots of creative flavors. It's always fun to try drinks from the seasonal menu, many which have become favorites, such as the *Dirty Ube* - coconut infused ube with organic coffee and milk. And of course they offer oat milk, which I always opt for. I do 50% sugar and less ice on this drink, but you can always customize it however you want. If you're looking for something fruity and refreshing, I highly recommend the *Guava Sunset*. It is sublime! The combination of guava, marmalade, and lemon is incredible. Definitely helps during all the heat waves. I get this drink 50% sweet, less ice. Also tasty are the the mango drinks (*Silky Mango* and *Mango Funtime* smoothie. You also can't go wrong with any of the matcha drinks such as the *Matcha Royale* or add strawberry. The *Taro Lovers* drink is also amaaaazing if you adore taro -- it's caffeine free! So a very popular choice later at night. Plenty of parking in the plaza but it can get crowded. Shoutout to Mariel on being helpful and knowledgeable every time! TIP: There's something for everyone. Let your adventurous side out and try everything. DATE TIP: Any of these beautiful tasty drinks is sure to win them over. The real test is if you can choose one that fits them best! It's been a long time since I've been here at this location. I'm giving this place two stars for a few reasons. * the boba barista gave me a defective lid for the hot Jasmine boba milk tea I ordered. It would not stay secured on the cup. The lid popped off so easily a few times and spilled in the car! * the boba barista threw so much attitude after asking her so nicely about the store hours. Customer service goes a long way, and she didn't deserve a tip after being so rude! She needs to get retrained on how to talk with customers. * the tablet doesn't seem to be updated with all of the drinks they offer. Overall, location is small but there's plenty of parking. This is my favorite Teaspoon location~ I unfortunately avoided Teaspoon for aa very long time as I'd visited several other locations, and did have good experiences. Am happy to report that since I tried this particular location (due to them being open a bit earlier than other tea shops.) and had a great experience I've kept coming back~ only once (out of many, many visits) did my drink not come out how I'd hoped. Some of my favorites are Guava Sunset, and Ladybug. I've enjoyed all the drinks I've tried at this location, and they often do seasonal drinks that I enjoy~ One of the last seasonal drinks was my favorite, but unfortunately it's no longer available. They also have some snacks like cookies, and chips. There is a screen you can order from as well as at cash register. They accept Apple Pay as well as cash. There's some seating outside. Teaspoon has been one of my favourite chain of boba tea shops for years. Mom and I have frequented this location in Los Altos for years, but have recently noticed some of their aspects diminish in quality. Located in the Village Court Shopping Center, there is ample parking for patrons. The interior of the shop is tiny - maximum occupancy can't be more than fifteen. They do, however, have an outdoor patio with a few tables for those who want to stick around and drink. The full menu is no longer posted on the wall; only Seasonal, Classics, and Signature drinks are reflected on the digital menus on the walls. Under the Create Your Own section, in fine print, there is a line indicating, "Ask our team for the complete menu options." Weird and inefficient. To boot, they have removed some Toppings like red bean (so now Mom has scratched this place as a favourite for boba). Service could be taken up a notch as well. They take orders in batches of parties, pause, then resume. The ineffective manner creates the long line out the door. When serving the drinks, the cups are consistently wet/dirty with beverage residue that I almost always need to ask them to wipe them down. They once also totally forgot about a drink order. Go to this spot if you love getting close to no boba in your BOBA drink. It happened once and I figured it was a mistake on their end. Three chances later I've realized this is how they do drinks here. I took my drinks back in and asked if they could add boba to my drink since I ordered it w boba and they rolled their eyes and poured me the most minuscule amount of boba imaginable.
